"That's because most magical beings have either died or gone into hiding. We're still here, though. We can bring back magic and let people once again find that balance between the mystical arts and technology." Mala said stubbornly, having become quite the optimist in comparison to Van these days. "Not only that, but we're adventurers - remember? The people of this barren land need heroes, need holders of magic to bring back life to the land - or at least help find some decent food. We could do that easilly."

"Yeah, adventurers with a baby on the way. We can't go traipsing around with a baby with things the way they are." Van said resting his head against hers for comfort.

((Have to go out for much shopping, so I'll be gone for a few hours.))

{Okay. See you when you get back!}

"True. But we can go to the next town over and help however we can. We can make food for those who need it, teach kids how to knit so they can fix their own clothes, that sort of thing." Mala said, refusing to give up. "Small acts of kindness can make a huge difference."

"I never took you for the charity sort before." Van said trying to smile for Mala's sake. "I guess it helps when you haven't horrible scarred this generation of females."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"That was because people in my generation could feed themselves. These people can't find a decent bit of food even if it bit them in the a**." Mala joked, leaning in to kiss Van lightly on the lips afterwards. "Of course, if you'd rather not, we can come up with some other form of distraction from the misery these days."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"No, no...it's fine. Maybe some charity work would bring some renewed faith, if even a little." Van said, trying not to be too much of a miserable mope for Mala.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala grinned. "I'm sure it will. If not, tell me whatever I can do to make you feel better. If I can, I'll do it."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I've got you, don't I? That's all I need." Van said giving her a soft kiss on the cheek.

"I love you, Van." Mala said afterwards with a warm and peaceful look lingering in her eyes.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I love you too." Van said with a faint smile. "I guess your pessimism had to go somewhere."

((When do I get to see Larai's profile? I don't wanna make Kai's until I have some idea what they're doing. sweatdrop ))

Mala then realised how they seemed to switch roles in that aspect and chuckled. "Yeah, I guess it did. I think your optomism and my pessimism traded places when we weren't looking!" she joked.

"Either that, or I lost it all along with my power. You, on the other hand, are currently filled with positive hormones for a change." Van said, a small smile creasing the corners of his mouth.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"How can I not be? I'm married to you, not dying any time soon, and we're finally having another baby! I'm so excited!" Mala said, sounding like a giddy child almost.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Hopefully they'll turn out better than our troublemakers, wherever they are right now." Van said moving to hug Mala from behind as he often did when he rested a hand upon her stomach, hoping to feel a kick to cheer him up.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Things won't turn out so bad this time. After all, we haven't many terrible influences surrounding us like we used to." Mala said, recalling how she hadn't seen hide nor hair of her only remaining family members in quite some time. No contact with Milly, and certainly no contact with Marianne. After saying what she did, she lifted up a hand to place over Van's, smiling all the more once a small kick could be felt.
