Yeah, my friend used to go to the ED to actually find serious discussion. She'd get lucky every now and then, but after more than a few debates devolved into personal insults, she just gave up and just hunted around for the most random s**t.
I don't think she even gets on Gaia anymore really (of course that could just be because of the college and having a life thing...).

@Tae: Yeah really, what the hell is with the whole "I'm entitled" thing? It pisses me off to no end. stressed Sometimes it's so hard to be an optimist when it comes to the human race.....
@Invis: Hehehe, that's why I only make threads here in the ATG. I always go back and read what people have to say...and I never want to return to a thread in the GCD and find a wall of screaming angry ignorant McSourfaces. xp

I don't participate in ED because it goes BEYOND "serious discussion". You're expected to be like...a professional debater, with 100 references, and you lose points if your post doesn't include some sort of derision about someone else's supposed fallacy.

sweatdrop Yeah...and heaven forbid you don't have a college degree in the subject. Hell, I'm all for being able to back up what you say...but it's the friggen internet. xp People act like if someone spells a word wrong their whole point is completly invalid. I think people are so caught up in the idea of being right, and proving other people wrong...they actually forget the point of what they're discussing in the first place.
xd Heck, if I posted just that anywhere but the ATG, I'd probably get a million responses like, "NO! That's not why people do things! I took a psych class in college so I know eeeeeeeverything!!"

Doing well, going through some old newspapers to see if there's anything I want out of them, then out to the recycle bin. And we have FarScape going in the background. ^_^ Other than that, pretty quiet. You? ^_^
