Van smiled a bit more once he felt the tiny burst of life from within her. "The only 'terrible influence' we had to worry about was that demon, and even when he was around, he didn't do that much. Though I do wonder where Marianne went, as you had originally said you'd try to tolerate her more."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Van, you know Marianne's a 'working woman'. She probably figured that she couldn't make much money here and went to work off in some foreign land's shoddy brothel." Mala said, sadly not exaggerating all that much with this prediction. Van might not've thought so, but Mala knew better. Her mother wasn't as horrible as she often made her out to be, but Marianne was more than a bit promiscuous.

And sorry, was suffering from some internet problems for a while there, and now I can't remember what my original post was going to be >P.))

"Shame we couldn't resurrect Atalus from ruin though. It would have been nice having some actual life around here."

"We can eventually. If nothing else, it might just end up a nice place to hold family. Gods know how many kids Riley and Angel have by now. Who knows? The twins might return eventually too and take one of the old houses nearby." Mala said.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Assuming they don't get caught up in the adventuring life too. Seems to run in the family if you ask me." Van said, brightening up a bit at the idea of seeing the twins again.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Maybe, but we returned here, didn't we? Their adventures started here, as did ours...together, I mean." Mala said, feeling all the merrier now that Van seemed to be perking up.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Eventually. It took us a few hundred years before we came back. Gods only know how long they'll be on the road for. Our fifth family member may very well be grown up and gone by the time those two come back around." Van said as he slowly started to rub her tummy.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Not likely! They'll be back before you know it. If not, I can just use my magic to summon their lazy asses over here and make them visit us." Mala said, half-joking now. "Just say the word and I'll do it."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I would, but I'd hate to look like the parent that can't let go, you know?" Van said, feeling a little bad that Mala was always offering to do things like this, always finishing with 'just say the word.' Even more so now that he had no power of his own anymore.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"So what? They can come crying to us whenever they get in trouble and leave without even a cup of tea with us? I don't think it's very fair to us if we can't drag them back when we need them!" Mala replied with a small pout.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"You say that like they've actually come home before. I've lost count of how long it's been since we saw them last." Van said.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Exactly! They promised they'd visit before the end of the millennia and they haven't shown hide nor hair since the day they left!" Mala said stubbornly.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Well, if you want to drag them back here, you're welcome to do so whenever you like, either now or after their baby brother or sister is born."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I won't have my baby grow up without knowing his or her elder siblings, and I know the twins'll be quick to leave, so want to summon them sometime shortly after the birth?" Mala suggested.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Sure. Shame we have no idea where everyone else is, or we could make a whole family reunion out of it." Van said with a small smile.
