they're not doing it to control everyone, just the dalai lama.
and in that case, it's an incredible smart move (the fact that it's completely fascist and evil notwithstanding). bah. free tibet!
well, I wouldnt say it's smart.. it's really pretty futile. I mean, lets say when the current dalai lama dies they do find a child who fits their criterea as his next reincarnation (traditionally he HAS to be reborn in Tibet from what I understand). it could be easily hidden. even the search could be kept secret. then once the child is found all they need to do is bring him back out of Tibet and Chinas grasp and raise him somewhere else. seems to me that they're so scared and intimidated by the dalai lama's popularity and spiritual strength that they are now grasping at straws.
the declaration of such a law only makes them sound stupid and desperate.
