So wait they are going to auction the items off for REAL MONEY??
EDIT: I went back and read it.... they didn't say.
If they do though I will destroy some people with my richness.

well what else are they supposed to do with the items? Sounds like a good way to get some of those rare items that are never going to be used again back into the marketplace

personaly through my years of being on gaia i've seen Alot of MC's that have just gone to waste due to bans thus those items would just sit in a locked inventory never to be released again... frankly i know of like 5+ OMG's that have been lost to such reasons, Countless nightmare scarfs, and so on... if accounts have been locked for years and items still remain why not give a chance for those items to be brought back into the market once again so active users can enjoy them?
and on that note for all the '03-'04 MC's that were lost to such reasons were brought back into the market it could even cause a decreased worth in some of them thus makeing them actualy obtainable to those other than the insainly filthy ******** rich... and of course the opposit could also occure, with the high demand of such "rare" items there prices will more likely jump dramaticly because more will be open for circulation

bluegrass cat i'm sure its just permabanned accounts. and really, what's the point of letting items just SIT in someone's inventory when its on lockdown FOREVER anyway? i'm all for it! auction away! ((or, better yet, make them quest items for INSANE quests! 3nodding )) also, @saku: who the hell is reporting you and for what??? ((also, i'd move stuff to a mule and just have the stuff you have equipped in your main account...just in case, right? wink ))
I'm hoping it's after the account have used up all thier um.. a-words... APEALS! (Sorry, I couldn't think of it.)
Also, from what I've heard when a main account is banned, so are the existing mules, so SK, you may want to only log into your mule in a library.

i think what he ment was more around the lines of permabanned old accounts. i doubt lanzer would actually ban accounts just because they have rare things in them then sell there junk off. but i do think that the wrongfully banning of accounts has made many people annoyed and that should really be looked into first and formost before this subject is actually decided on

What the, but some people have been banned from wrong reasons surely they should spend the time seeing who was banned and investigating for what reasons, they should not just auction all the items, sure okay it is not a bad idea but none the less....
eek darth you said completely what i was going to say. It is all good and well banning someone because of numerous reasons but as long as there legitamate reasons then that should not be a problem right but still.... look into more thats for sure.

Sounds like a good way to get some of those rare items that are never going to be used again back into the marketplace kinda true. i mean, let's say the Wind Security Blanket disappears due to all of the owners getting banned. and alot of blanket fans would be super pissed. so they take all of the owners' blankets and sell them to ppl who really want them. this prevents the "extinction" of alot of MCs.
