Doodles!

I've just recently started doodling again (although, having spent a lot of time in design classes, I tend to call it "sketching"). I forget how frustrating it is to just get the jist of an idea... So frustrating...

I don't like anything I do until it's done, and it's rarely done...

I think of doodles as being the things you draw to get to the point where you then have a jist of an idea to which you then go on to sketch more formally with the intention of creating an actual piece of art.

With the design classes you go from doodling/sketching straight to drawing. Then maybe some models/prototyping.

Occasionally some painting for the clients.

Seriously...I even have to write apologies and messages to my teacher in there like, "Please forgive this new batch of pictures....My notes for Chapter 8.7 are on page 49." He doesn't seem to mind, and often leaves notes in there that comment on my art. xd Mostly they just say, "I have to wonder what's in your head sometimes..." or something along those lines.

Did this next to my notes on heterozygous and homozygous genes....

I have about 15 pages like this one, done completely impulsively with Sharpies....

You guys should be able to identify at least two people in these sketches. =] This notebook is also where I ponder avatar art.

Well, the sharpie pages and cover aside that leaves the only 5 people...

First off, I am NOT grumpy. Damn it. So that leaves four...

Can't imagine you drawing me with a hoodie. Three...

Can't imagine you drawing me with a buzz cut. Two...

Never had a tail, let alone multiple tails. One...

Now, what'd I do with that last one... *rummages through piles of paper*

You'd be amazed at how fun it is to draw brick walls. Never finished this one... the technique is to smudge the pencil all in after so it looks like shadow and aged mortar between the stones...

Recurring themes in my doodles over the years... except the sheep. I stole that from my brother.

These all came from when I was training for a new job... two jobs ago. I'm pretty sure I was on drugs after having my wisdom teeth out when I did the hand.
