I thought Myth Busters proved that the 5 second rule doesn't really work...
blaugh And yeah when I was younger I would eat off the floor sometimes, but now if it hits the floor it's a no go for me.

Was this back when MythBusters actually used scientific evidence?

I don't care about the scientific part, but it's fun to blow things up. MythBusters is my "dream" job. xd

Sometimes is I drop something, I'll throw away the outer part, and eat the inside. Like chicken.

I eat it if it hasn't fallen in anything and it its got hairs on I just blow them off 8D

Someone threw a candy lace at me at college outside and it fell on the floor and i picked it up and ate it >.< People gave me such a weird look o.O It's not like it's fallen in anything and most food have bacteria from your hands which you use to touch the floor when you sit down. So I don't see anything wrong.

For them to do that,they'd have to know what the word Myth really means.

I saw a truth or scare once (I think it's a similar show) and it seemed to end at square one, without proving or disproving anything.

I rinse off lollypops, to counteract the fur rule, and because I can't just get a dog or cat to eat it. Then again, you have a better chance of getting one of my cats to eat your vegis or fruit than the dog. (Even apart from the fact that one likes cantaloupe after it has sat out for awhile, and that one likes to eat corn from a corn on the cob for more than just the butter.)

It was either Mythbusters or Bullshit that did a harvard study proving that food can remain on the floor for 50-72seconds before bacteria have a chance to populate it to a quantative degree. Now it may be dirty, but after being a cook for many sit down AND fastfood resturants i can tell you easily you've eaten much MUCH worse without even knowing it.

I really can't eat off of the floor here. People hardly ever bother to sweep. >_<;; Ew. Plus there is a cat who sheds everywhere.

i generally eat it if it falls off my plate. The floor is throw away zone... only because i know exactly how long it's been since my floors were cleaned XD
