I listen to allot of rock. When I was younger all I listened to was hip-hop though. I've expanded my music library to all kinds of music genre. I enjoy it all, some days I'm in the mood for rock the next some electronica/indie, or back to my old hip-hop the next day. I really love R'n'B though. n_n <********, I say RnB is like emo by black people. lolol. Its soft music usually about feelings and stuff and love and relationships and sad things too like heartbreak. I don't listen to the RnB that's just about sex and explicit nonsense. stare

I prefer the sound of rock. To me most rap is just a lot of shouting over the top of a bit (and if you're lucky a bit of tune)... but recently I've found an appreciation for Aussie hip-hop... like Hilltop Hoods and Urthboy, mainly as an Australian an Aussie accent vastly improves the genre for me. Plus they sing about our politics rather than something happening on the other side of the globe. But I will always prefer rock.

Because nothing says "Let's kick some a**" quite like rock music. I don't know why I like it, I guess it's just awesome, (generally) inspiring lyrics combined with music that gets your pulse racing... guess it's just some innate thing.

I do not like rock, I like Power Metal. There is a difference. In power metal the main focus is in the vocals and drums. Just thought I would say that. biggrin

I grew up listening to Rock music, so that's my reason.. Rock music is so flexible and has many different types and sounds, so you get the whole package.. Rap and Hip Hop don't really have any appeal to me. It all sounds the same, and I guess I don't tend to like music about "Grills" or anything that makes women sound like objects instead of human beings.. Not only the content, but how people performing Rap and Hip Hop music sound, it makes me wants to claw my brains out.. They talk in monotone voices, and half the time, they sound drugged. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of types of rock music that bother me, too.. But Rap and Hip Hop just annoy me more. Ugh, and what's worse than the people who need to blast their s**t Rap/Hip Hop music with all of their windows down so the sound carries and everyone can hear it? That in itself gives that kind of music a big "No-Effing-Way" from me..

SOM3BODii TOLD M3 I think its because gaia isnt like myspace where EVERYONE goes. Gaia has a majority of a certain type of people which is the anime type people. And a majority of anime people just seem to like rock. i hate rap. its not music to me. they're just talking +1
@ The topic: I like Rock, but my favorite Genres of music are Techno/Trance but I generally like most genres of music. I am a firm believer that Techno is the base of all music. Reason? Because there is some in every genre of music to date. But, there are some artists who do not deserve a record label. That is how bad they are. I am referring to most of the newer rap artists; Soulja Boy is nothing but fail. And some some of the rock artists; Fall Out Boy, you can't even understand what they say. Well, maybe a word or two, but it still sounds like they taught themselves how to sing and did a piss-poor job at that.

Because people let themselves be generalized based on the music they listen to, in order to project some image of themselves to others, when in actuality other people don't really give a s**t what music they listen to. And in regards to red's comment, rap is NOT more about "drugs and stuff," it's just that in the reality of urban society that's what makes money, so rappers reflect on it in their music.

LOL TENCHI MASAKI I just kinda grew up with rock. But for some reason I just want to dropkick anyone who says rap isn't music. Rap isn't music. It's poetry. I consider vocal music to be where the singer sings everything and doesn't chant it.
