Am I just dense, here?
  Oh, yeah, totally.
You really don't know how to do this?
  You don't deserve Internet service.

Also, I hate when I go to access a webpage and Norton and Vista both pop up with a warning at the same time and freeze my screen. stare

That's never happened to me...o.O

Although I don't have Norton....

I disabled Vista. I depend on safe surfing and security programs, which would be anything besides Norton. Ohohoho.

Unless you have 45 RAM, then you can use Norton.

@ Jaft: No, I have quite a bit of RAM, but I'm totally broke and my mom knows Norton, so I was like, "I'll get the cheap option and then if something goes wrong, my mom can help me."

Surprise! That didn't work as well as it seemed it would. rolleyes

@ Waku: Oh, well both Norton and Vista have these little things that come up and say, "You're about to download something to your computer. Is that okay with you?" and they'll both come up at once. Then I scream in anger while my screen whites out and tries to figure out what happened... xd

Also, I've come up with very interesting ways to misspell your name during this conversation, including "Waky," "Wakui," Waki," and my favorite, "Wako." Just felt like sharing. biggrin

I enjoy those spellings. Wako is awesome. Makes me think of Animaniacs.

And yeah, I've really never gotten any message asking if it's okay to download something.... Maybe you just need to mess around with your settings? Vista only ever prompts me when I'm going to install a program, but that's it.

There are free antivirus things you can get, like AVG. Can't get any cheaper than free.

I don't think I should be allowed to touch machinery of any sort because.....well.... I think I might cause catastrophic destruction O_o I'm also addicted to pressing buttons of any sort and seeing the end result mufufufu..... smile

Question:

Where can I get free anti-virus software for Windows XP? I currently don't have any form of protection for my Step Mom's laptop and my Norton Anti-virus trial expired......

Download AVG or Avast.

Remove Norton before installing either of them.

Fully removing Norton is a pain in the a**. Bloody thing ties itself round your system worse than most of the spyware it's supposed to be protecting you from.

Google online for the Norton Removal Tool. Only download it from Symantec's website.

I hate Norton. Haaate it. Both from my own experience with it, and from dealing with their bullshit at work.
