gasoline-x It depends on the type - if it looks like the artist put at least some thought into the piece or is trying to convey a message, then it is art. However, tags - for gangs or stuff like that, isn't art. Just vandalism. Thank you for writing your initials on my fence, it was very much appreciated. Great point, I love the way you wrote the last sentence: "Thank you for writing your initials on my fence, it was very much appreciated."I can feel the sarcasm just by reading it xd

i really think it does depend on the intention of the srtist and the meaning of the art. if its something that is beautiful and creative that the artist used to express themself i dont look at it as grifitti. but if it is some random thing just putthere for no reason or some type of gang symbol then yes it should be looked at as griffitti.

I love graffiti heart I believe its an art. But I dont think people should spray paint all over peoples property unless they had permission.

I believe that it can be mostly art, but there are instances were it is solely a petty crime. I have seen a lot of graffiti that I love.

thats hard to say. some (not all)of the graffiti work ive seen is very expressive, original, talented peices of art. i have been so intriuged by it i have done alot on paper. But i really wanna try with the spray cans. i'm not incouraging destruction on property just a way to express ones self smile

it is an art when done on buildings that allow it. but when done on trains and other peoples property it is a crime. i hate those people who go and just put it on whatever they want. they are foolish and irresponsible. they do have programs in bigger cities that are funded where you can do graffiti on brick walls were you can express yourself. most young people just need to learn what being mature is.

i think of it as an art i mean anything can be an art.....killing someone can be an art......well anyways...... it can also be a crime to some people because it's on someone else's property....unless you ask....to paint on whatever it is you're asking to draw on and usually they don't ask and just paint.... well anyways i think graffiti is an art haha ^w^

well...I feel it's art if it has a meaning, message, feeling, or thought of the atrist... if they put it there for gang territory... It's not art...it's no different if a dog "uses" a firehydrent.... It's just for territory....sorry to put it so crudely...
