*Nods* For years now GTR has been telling me that I need glasses, and I swore up and down a wall that I don't. I even got my eyes checked last year and the optometrist said I had 20/20 and that I didn't need glasses. Had I known then that feeling tired was a symptom I would have mentioned that.
On a side note... I'm kinda really excited! I've been living the last 5 years of my life feeling tired all the time, I can't imagine what it will be like to feel awake!

The eye doctor I go to laughs when I go in and says, "Ahhh your perscription is soooo tiny!" But it makes a biiig difference to me. When I'm driving I can read street signs and things so much clearer.

I plan on making an appointment and see what they say about my eyes... Probably the same thing as last time, "Oh you have 20/20 vision you're fine."

Hopefully you'll have a different optometrist this time.
When I was a kid, I was in the 3% of the population who can read the bottom line on the eye chart. Now that I am an old stale fart, my eye muscles are sick of working so hard to look at nearby things. Be sure to mention the eyestrain/fatigue. Even a teeny weak prescription can help. I think my first was like +0.25 in one eye and +0.175 in the other. It made a WORLD of difference to me. Now I am up to +0.5/+0.75 and I really feel it when I haven't been wearing my glasses.
My point is, I think that a minor (and correct!) correction feels awesome when you've been living your entire life without any at all.

y'know, if you'd mentioned it before i may have suggested getting your eyes tested xD
i wear glasses for distance... or rather, should wear them... but it's such a pain in the a** remembering to bring them and wear them... and my eyes start to hurt when i wear them for too long. and even at work i still can't see what the hell is on everyone's pass card from far away :

@kals: Ya I'll be going to an actual eye place this time and not the eye center in Wal-mart.
@Liz: I heard that your eyes will hurt and you'll probably get headaches until you're used to wearing them.... Not looking forward to that.
I was in class yesterday, and normally I'll sit near the blackboard and projection screen. Well yesterday I didn't and I had to freaking squint to see the smaller writing. I didn't even notice it until I caught myself leaning closer as well. I'm planning on making appointments for both GTR and myself for next Wednesday as I need to take that day off anyways.

Ahaha, I got glasses when I was 14...and it all started 'cause my parents keep asking about what was so horrible in the books I was reading. Apparently, I make a very disgusted-looking face when I squint. XD
Oh, and I would suggest that you guys ask for some sort of discount for buying two pairs, if you both need new frames. The shop I go to in town lets me buy one frame, get one frame and pay for both sets of lenses.

I'm kinda really excited! I have my eye appointment next Wednesday and GTR has his next Thursday. Maybe I won't be squinting when I'm walking through stores reading what is on the isle list.
I'm horrified that they will say that there is nothing wrong with my eyes though. If they say that and I can't get glasses I don't know what to do about my eyes then. sad

I've also had diabetes suggested to me. I'm going to hope to hell that I don't have that! I could never curb my eating habits enough to keep me alive!

Ooooh, well, diabetes is often accompanied by excessive thirst, fatigue, headaches, the need to frequently urinate, vision issues and edema in the lower extremities. Diabetes isn't all that hard to control, but it does require some thought before and after you eat or exercise.

I have the vision issues, fatigue, headaches and needing to pee a lot but that's all. I know you don't NEED to show all the signs to have it.... I also know that some people WILL show all the signs.
Ya the thought before you eat doesn't really exist in my head. Not even when I'm sick. I'm the type who says "oh I'm in the mood for that, lets eat!" whether it be sushi, or a chocolate bar. Hell there's plenty that I eat that hurts my teeth and I know and STILL eat it anyways.
Man the human body is messed right up!

You could think of it as a new skill set. Though I do know how you feel about it...my g-ma died of complications of the disease and I still don't eat like I should. Fortunately, exercise can play a major role in curbing the ill-effects of the disease.

Ya I don't exercise much either. Basically the only thing that keeps me thin is stress. I'm sure I have clogged arteries and all the other bad crap too.
