For the past few months, Sophia had been rather engrossed in her work as a stay-at-home author and her latest hobby, which was cleaning up that dusty old box she kept on her desk. She already seemed quite the unemotional woman, keeping such an unchanging expression and gentle tone at all times. In truth, though, this was not so. Beneath the unchanging, porceline exterior beat the heart of a loving and extremely sentimental woman. During the past few months, she had been waiting for something special, and was perhaps growing irritated at its taking so long. Only today had it come, a very expensive gift ordered online, one that Pandora had been begging for constantly within the past half-year. It was such a dissappointment when it didn't arrive in time for her birthday, and no doubt Pandora was still upset with Sophia for supposedly forgetting the special day. Wrapped-up neatly underneath Sophia's bed was the mint-condition collector's doll, one that Pandora had supposedly seen in the window of a toyshop at some point. At this very moment, Sophia was halfway home, carrying a large box with a cake that was no less than an impressively made work of art. Sophia, when she could afford to, certainly went all-out for Pandora. These days, her little sister was her pride and joy, even if she was a bit bratty at times. Unfortunately, however, Sophia had forgotten to put the box back into the drawer once she finished with it. No, it was still atop the desk, laying on the silky cloth used to clean and polish it. How greatly Sophia would regret such carelessness...

Gale was happily doing cartwheels on her lawn, while singing a Tegan and Sara song. She had her backpack nearby, because she was getting ready to go to the bunny store and her backpack was full of all the stuff she needed for her work there. When she finished her cartwheels, she grabbed her backpack and started walking, humming. She got out her music player and started listening to her favorite musics while she walked, getting distracted by various shiny things.

There's no place like home...

On any normal day Pandora was inside, already done bored with the outside and she normally wasn't allowed outside when her sister was away except the back yard. Her eleventh birthday passed a few days ago and though it was celebrated to a degree, Pandora didn't really get a present and her sister wasn't much around that day either. Sure Sophie wasn't around often, it wasn't unusual for her to be away most of the day or all day so it wouldn't of been a surprise, rather Pandora felt less celebrated with the lack of a present. It left her bitter, and unwanted even as her sister never seemed to show much loving expression in the first place. The only way it got much through to Pandora was a present or other simple gestures that gave her a clue that Sophie was thinking of her. Pandora was a dense child not aware how difficult it was to work and go through school at the same time even. It was her ignorance that failed to see everything.

Her bitterness leading her into Sophie's room, morely to get some revenge against her, but to subconciously show her older sister that she was alive. Looking around her room, seeing the usual books on the bed and sometimes the floor she went to the closet to pull down on Sophie's clothes and try a few on in the process. She did like some of her sisters taste, but it took her a minute when she got to the desk to notice a pretty box. Making her way over in on of her sisters larger shirts and a cute hat that wasn't too big on her, her fingers grasped the box slowly as she pulled it close to her. Pandora's fingers traced it curoiusly, looking over it. Her curiosity became day dreams and memories soon, as her mind trailed off and tears began to form. With water draining down her cheek, she shook her thoughts as she swallowed the lump in her throat trying to shake the negative thoughts away. Her hand moved to opening, as she wanted to know what the tune of the music box was.

(She won't open it, just dramatic slow motion until Sophie walks in >.> )

Sophie soon arrived home, and with much difficulty, was somehow able to open the front door without dropping or smudging the cake. Her movements were slow, careful as she did what she did. With much effort and careful yet sluggish movements, she was somehow able to make her way to the kitchen - putting the giant cake box on the counter. She then headed towards her sister's room, opening the door to peak inside. Pandora wasn't inside? Then where was she? "Pandora? Where are you?" she called out, her tone slightly louder than normal. It was inquisitive, yet as calm and smooth as ever. She quickly noticed that her bedroom door was slightly open, and upon peaking inside, she spotted Pandora with the box...what was she doing in there?!
