♛ 》〉It wasn't an easy job. Being a king of such a vast land of course. Though their land was hopelessly dying, there wasn't much he could do. He couldn't evacuate the people, his father and his father's father and so on had worked too long and hard to gain such a massive piece of land, and he had to carry it on his shoulders now. Lenarche sat languidly upon his throne, in an rather improper position as matters were much more worse than his manners. Besides the point, he was just exhausted with the dozens of his advisers and messengers bringing either news, bad news, or worse news. He couldn't understand how could one person do this alone, but it was his kingdom, and it was time to prove his worthiness over it.

_____ Alana fought the urge to run off into the gardens. She had far too much to do, although most of it was by her own choice. Being a Princess was much more important than having the freedom to run off and do what ever you wanted. Looking out of a window for a few minutes would hopefully quell her need for a stroll. So, seated by a window she was, though she busied her hands with a letter she'd been trying to seal. She picked at the wax and thought about moving to the throne room, where she'd find out a bit more about what was going on in the day. No doubt her mother was busy, hopefully. If her mother wasn't busy what need was there for so many people to be running about?

She caught sight of the general walking past, purpose in his stride. Certainly he had no reason to be about if there wasn't something going on. He was always making sure he was on track, no social visits.

Alana hopped up from her place at the window, let herself glance longingly at the open blue sky, and then walked off toward the inner rooms.

Things had gone wrong somewhere, and he felt that things were wrong. He had no idea how to fix it. Yet.
