Quote: 2. You find a really cool, shiny rock! It's a nice orange/yellow color. Ukwazi tells you it's called "amber" and came from tree resin a long time ago. You can either keep it or leave it. 3. Ooo! FLOWERS! A fairly uncommon thing to see in the Ithambo, but this one is really interesting looking! They have long, large and spiny leaves, but the flowers are really tall! Ukwazi mentions they're called "aloe" and that apparently rubbing a broken leaf on a wound is supposed to help. She also mentions that apparently the sap is useful for stomach aches. 5. Is that an elephant you see?! No...maaaaan. It was just some tree. A big tree though! Ukwazi tells you it's still young actually, only roughly the size of an adult bull elephant, but that they can grow nearly five times that! They're called baobab trees and the fruit is extremely useful as it's really good for you, but they're hard to get to that high up. Apparently they gathering places for elephants during the dry seasons though. 6. You find a neat bug! It's red and black and...oh no! It's a stink bug!
Musa: 6 | Ishaka: 5 | Cashile: 3 | Sizani : 2
Musa snorted at something his unasked for companion had said, head shaking as he dismissed her wisdom. "That's not it at all!" He retorted, ears pinning back briefly at her laughter. "I am too growing my mane! See!" He shook his head again, making his floppy forelock fall into his eyes, nessecitating a repeat performance in an attempt to get it back out. Her derisivie snort annoyed him, as was her own display of her forelock fur. So her's was longer than his, that didn't mean he wasn't growing it! Suddenly something to the side of his vision caught his atention and he stopped to peer down at the bright coloured speck sat on a small rock. "OH!" he exclaimed in undisguised glee. "Look! A bug!" Grinning he broke the line and ran the few paces to where the bug sat fluttering its wings. "Ishaka! Look!" He beconed over his travail companion even as the blue-tailed little girl bounded over to join him, both of them peering at the fluttering twitching bug. Suddenly Ishaka stepped back, a worried look on her face. "Get back!" She advised in a rush, just as the bug turned about, as if to face directly at them. Suddenly the most horendous stink errupted from the bug, making Musa scramble backwards while coughing. "UGH!" He spat between coughs, trying to get the disgusting smell out of his nose. "THATS SO COOL!"
Ishaka'sil shook he rhead as she stepped even further back from both the bug and the boy. The cloud of noxious gas seemed to follow her, making her wrinkle her nose. "That's not cool. Thats just disgusting." She informed him with an offended tone, then simply sighed and shook he rhead as Musa moved forwards again, still coughing mind you, to get a better look at the bug, only to find it making its escape. Ignoreing him as Musa darted after the smelly insect with a shout, Ishaka looked round, hoping for an adult that would force him to get back in line minus the bug. And maybe put him at the back, considering he now stank as bad as the bug did. Suddenly she stopped and peered up ahead. "Hey look!" She called, already forgetting about the bug and the smell as she turned back towards Musa. "Is that an elephant!?"
Cashile had bene walking along beside her sister, listening to the chatter of the other cubs but not really saying much of anything herself. She was far too busy trying to keep her footing on the uneven ground as they trooped along, having to work to keep up with her larger sibling as Sizani paced along easily. As the plainer of the pair, Cashile was used to being ignored and the relative silence didn't bother her. Sizani was talking about the other cubs but Cashile was only half listening. Suddenly something strange caught her eye and she carefully padded over, calling to her sister as she did so. "Hey Si, what's this?" She stopped before a spikey plant with a tall flower. It was pretty! Sizani knew the look on her sibling's face. Cashile wasn't really paying attention, but that was ok, Sizani knew she would remember everything they said even if she was distracted at the time. Her sister may be the plain one of the pair of them, but she was probably the smartest. As the brown cub turned away Sizani followed, noting the flower with a grin. "That's cool! You should ask what it is." Glancing around for an adult something else caught her eye. It wa small and shiney in the grass. Lowering her head she sniffed at it. What was it!? Picking it up in her teeth she resolved to keep it and ask later.

It seemed the cubs were quite active, their tiny eyes wide and watchful as numerous of them spotted things which earned the group lessons from the golden lioness as well as from the other females present in the group. It had been well over four hours since they had set out from the pride's border and by now the sun was high in the sky and near its peak. With it came heat.
The flies began to cluster heavily around the troupe as if they were rotting while they walked towards the herds in the distance, the very one that a few of the cubs had unknowingly spotted. The constant buzzing was an obvious annoyance for Ukwazi and several of the cubs behind her, Gede being the main one, that was severely annoyed by the insects' presence. It was by luck, or by careful planning, that as they pushed through the grass they came upon a pool.
"WATER!" Zuko shouted as he rushed passed his aunt only to be snatched up by his scruff by Ukwazi who stared down her nose at the back of the red cub's head. She definitely would have sighed if she didn't have a mouthful of cub. The golden lioness lowered her head only slightly before dropping Ukushisa's son back to the ground.
"Watering wholes are dangerous. They attract all sorts of prey," a pause. "And predators. A cheetah, or even a leopard or hyena could be laying in the grass, hidden and patient, just waiting for someone who's not cautious enough to wander along." Ukwazi straightened her neck as she scanned over the tops of the grass, watching carefully for any movement before wading into the When it seemed like there was nothing else around and that the water was shallow enough to not be too much of a risk to the safety of the cubs, she looking back to the other cubs and nodded. "And now you can get a drink." Of course some of the cubs would obviously decide to play instead.

"Just a bug," Sing said with a little sigh as she was questioned. "Nothing too exciting, but dots sound fun!"
The group soon reached a watering hole and Sing was one of the first to run to the shores. She paused at the caution that was given to them, though, and quickly glanced around. A large pile of...something caught her eye and she walked over to investigate. Ukwazi's comment about zebras made her wonder how big they were to leave that much behind.
"Ew...Sandile, it's bigger than you," she said as she glanced at her brother with a little grin.
---
Hanging to the rear of the group still, Umlotha paused with Udaka as the cubs all gathered around the water. She turned her ears back as something caught her eye along the edge of the water. Frowning, her golden eyes followed the movement in the grass. Then...it stopped. There wasn't any wind, either.
"Something's moving," she said quietly, staring at the place that the blades had last rippled.
---
The dark cub's words didn't go unheard. Udaka stood beside her and followed the cub's gaze. She didn't see anything moving but she wasn't about to take any chances. She kept her eyes and ears open for any sounds and even glanced over her shoulder to be sure they weren't being trailed. Nothing was behind them that she could see. If something was in the grass waiting to attack, they'd have to get through the other three females in front of her to get to the cubs.

___________________ Sure enough the cubs heard correctly. Without so much of a care, a rather decent sized honey badger came waddling out from hiding in the grass with a wide smile on its face. It was clear that it did not care that it was in the presence of so many cubs, even with the other lionesses present. Around its neck was a hefty leather bag, adorned with three orange gems which the cubs could now identify as amber!
Zuko was the first to notice the newcomer as he churred, bolting out from the muddy water and playing with the other cubs to hide behind his aunt's forelegs. This of course got Ukwazi's attention. Her lips raised menacingly towards the small, but fearless, creature. Still it continued its waddle, making its way passed several of the cubs before stopping ahead of the Umama. Raising its chin, it spoke.
"Greetings! I didn't know there were lions around here! Are you all part of a pride?" The ratel asked, with a little too much pep in its voice.
"Yep! My granpa is big and he--" the hiding red cub's words were cut short by his aunt's paw pushing him to the ground and a quick growl from her before she turned her attention back to the honey badger. "As my foolish nephew said, we are. And you are..."
"Oh! My my, where are my manners! I'm Uju and this is my caravan." As if on cue a number of other honey badgers appeared from the brush, walking right passed the cubs towards the water where they began to drink and bathe, finding relief from the hot sun. "We're merchants, traders really. We attempt to find prides, set up routes between them and our main camp and begin trading for things you might otherwise not have access to!" Without missing a beat she continued, though looking passed Ukwazi to address the entire group this time, "Would any of you like to trade?"
___________________ [OOC]
Everyone has the chance to trade with Uju!
With your cub's (questionable) knowledge of the Bonelands, you may have them search the immediate surrounding for things to trade with Uju! Adolescents and adults can obviously join in too!
How to do this: roll 1, 6-sided dice per SoA you want to go searching. You may repeat this as many times as you want, but your previous posts (this includes ones further back in this ORP) must be filled out before rolling again! You have 24 hours to roll, at which point the ORP will continue and you will have a chance to trade items gathered for things! (*cougheditscough*)
Roll Results 1. You find a bone from a small animal! What animal/bone is up to you. 2. You don't find anything. :C 3. Feathers! 0 / Only two, but still, at least they look neat! 4. A scrap of hide...looks like it came off of a zebra. Pretty fresh too, still bloody. 5. A really neat beetle. It's shell's iridescent! <3 6. A really round...rock. Maybe Uju will want it anyways?

"Hey! I'm not a poop!" Sing said as her brother gave his witty comeback. She was distracted by the marching badgers, though, and watched with awe as they all came out into the grass. They were much smaller than her but they didn't seem to fear the possible predators, not even them!
Ooh...trade?
"Let's get something to trade them!" she said, but her brother was two steps ahead of her. He was talking a bug on the poop pile she had found - ha, it was helpful! - so she went off to the edge of the water to look in the grass. Finding a very attractive red and yellow beetle, she gave it a whack with her paw and it fell to the ground from the grass.
"Hey! Hey! What about this?" she asked, carefully picking up the beetle between her teeth as she ran over to the leader. She dropped the bug proudly before her feet, grinning from ear to ear.
---
When honey badgers emerged from the grass Umlotha relaxed a little. They were tiny and silly looking, she was sure she had nothing to fear even though it seemed they had nothing to fear as well. She pressed forward as others began to search for something to trade, taking the time for a drink now. She had no interest in whatever the little creatures had to offer.
---
As the merchants emerged from the grass, Udaka knew better than to let her guard down. Badgers were fearless as was evident by their confident march among the lions gathered. They wouldn't be much bother to the other adults, but she knew they could overpower a cub pretty easily if they wished.
She kept a watchful eye, keeping her post at the back of the pack. She'd get some water before they moved on again.
