Blue Samedith
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by Uta

User Image

Origin of Name: Samedith, from Baron Samedi. Baron Samedi, by his many names, is the Haitian Vodou loa of the Dead. Along with being the loa of the dead, he is also in charge of resurrection. He is called upon when someone is near death to heal the dying one, for it is Baron Samedi who accepts the dead into the afterlife. Known for his salacious behavior and many indulgences, the loa is nevertheless a mighty and powerful figure who commands considerable respect.

Inspiration: Friends On the Other Side - The Prince & the Frog

The character of Dr. Facilier, called the Shadow Man, is a mysterious yet at first seemingly benevolent figure. A witchdoctor who is capable of calling upon the aid of beings from beyond, Dr. Facilier's plans unravel over the course of the film, leading him to go to greater and greater lengths to secure his victory. When ultimately he shows a willingness to kill to get what he wants, he is defeated by Tiana, who smashes the fetish that holds the power to take Prince Navene's form. It is then that Dr. Facilier is dragged to the Other Side by the very beings that he previously courted and called upon.

Personality: Wouldn't you like to make a deal? Samedith is sure that they can work something out that will be amendable for both of them. For, after all, he has quite a bit of experience turning things around to best suit him. Why shouldn't he use such abilities to the benefit of himself and those around him? Especially when the lion's share of the benefit happens to rest firmly within his own claws. Buyer beware, however - Samedith does not hesitate for a moment to go back on a deal if it will save his hide! He is a deceptive creature who has no compunction against tossing another in harm's way should the moment call for it.

This clever, conniving beast has been wise from the first, well able to assess a situation and to work it to his best advantage. One will rarely catch him flatfooted, for indeed he is very quick on those feet! He's quite good at making friends and influencing people, and does not mind going beneath himself for allies if it gets the job done. The job, in case you weren't following, is setting Samedith up in a place of power - specifically, the power behind the throne. He'll be the puppetmaster holding the strings, for holding direct power over the Weyr would leave him far too exposed.

And if there's one thing Samedith won't risk, it's his own precious hide. He is power hungry, to be sure, but he's also a bit of a coward. And, indeed, he does not enjoy getting his own claws dirty. Not when he can convince someone else to do it! After all, was it really poor Samedith's fault that things didn't turn out according to plan? Of course not. He would have executed it all perfectly, if only he had been on the frontlines - but Samedith will never be on the frontlines, not if he has anything to say about it.

Do go on ahead! He's right behind you. And if he happens to be behind you holding his claws in a rather menacing manner, well... he was just practicing. He's terribly good at coming up with excuses for his behavior. What he's not good at is copping to his own frailties. He is perfect, plain and simple, and his plans never have holes in them. Even if there are dragon sized holes he'll never admit to it, and will try to find ways to weasel out of trouble. Speaking of trouble, this dragon is that. One thing that he can always be counted upon is to work to his own best interests, so it would behoove his rider to convince him that the Weyr's best interests are his own.

Positive Traits: Smooth, Persuasive, Powerful, Intelligent
Negative Traits: Power Hungry, Duplicitous, Scheming, Smug

Adult Size: 28'
Physical Attributes: A tall, long blue, Samedith has quite an elegant yet somewhat awkward appearance. He is very slender and lithe, with rather large, broad wings.

Additional Notes: Attracted to power, this blue will be almost certain to fall for the charms of Gold ladies, more often than not. Not that he is incapable of finding enjoyment in any color that happens to cross his path, but he would so love having a Queen within his claws. He is likely to follow in Papa Krah's footsteps, seeing his arrangement as quite ideal.

Theme Song: Friends on the Other Side cover by Jake Turner-Clarkson
Egg: A large purple egg with a green, smoke-like marking upon it. This egg sits near the center of the clutch, and seems very smug.

Why Me? Oh Faranie, Faranie, Faranie. Where does Samedith start talking about your many qualities? They're a picture perfect match, from her icy beauty, to his striking looks... to their shared ambitions. But Weyrwoman Faranie will always be a dream - as this blue is most decidedly not a Golden queen. He is, however, quite a clever beast, and more than capable of achieving greatness, if only she had faith in him. Never mind that, though, as Samedith can and will convince her of their shared destiny. Why have one little Weyr when they could have the world? When they could pull the strings and conspire to hold Pern in their hands - or in his case, claws. Her disappointment at failing to Impress a Queen is not lost on Samedith, but he believes himself to be the better choice.

Blue Zidoleth
Written by Uta
Colored by -_Wish of Tevarae_-

User Image

Origin of Name: No matter the version of the story, which there are many, Pinocchio was always that of a puppet. In this case, we have based Zidoleth's name on the Chichewa word for puppet, which is zidole.

Inspiration: When You Wish Upon a Star - Pinocchio

When You Wish Upon a Star" is a song written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for Walt Disney's 1940 adaptation of Pinocchio. The original version was sung by Cliff Edwards in the character of Jiminy Cricket, and is heard over the opening credits and in the final scene of the film. The song has since become the representative song of The Walt Disney Company.

A recording with Christian Rub (with Mister Geppetto's voice), Cliff Edwards and Chorus was released by Victor Records and by EMI. It won the 1940 Academy Award for Best Original Song. It was also the first Disney song to win an Oscar.

The song reached the top five in Billboard's Record Buying Guide, a predecessor of the retail sales chart. In Japan, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark, the song has become a Christmas song, often referring to the Star of Bethlehem. The Library Of Congress deemed the song "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" and preserved it into the National Recording Registry in 2009.

Personality: There are few sweeter blues than Zidoleth. He was hatched with a carefree attitude. Very little seems to get him down, or pull him into a negative space; even criticism or harsh words roll right off his back. Anxiety? What's that? This blue certainly isn't the sort to get worried or anxious, and has no doubt that things will work out as they should. He has the hearts of a hatchling and won't ever get too big. Even with all his riders burdens and worries, Zidoleth knows just how to send assurance that all will be well.

There is a sense of wonder about this blue. He loves waking up each day to find some new great adventure. He loves not knowing what the next moment might bring and will always point out to his rider and fellow dragons something awesome that he just discovered. Perhaps it's the ripples on the water that look akin to diamonds; or the way the red star is being shadowed by the planet. There is a sense of discovery, and a natural curiosity and excitement for life that will never be shaken. Even during the hardest moments, Zidoleth can't help but be glad for the life he's been given. Every day is a gift, and this blue will never take it for granted.

His carefree, no-worries nature can get him into trouble. Zidoleth can be terribly gullible, especially when his rider isn't there to keep him on task, or another clutchmate. Why shouldn't they help out this nice man and the "medicines" he needs to deliver? This dragon said that Aviroth told him that it was okay to skip lessons and sun on the beach instead? It's not that Zidoleth is dumb, he just readily believes anyone who so much looks like an expert or authority on a matter.

To complicate the issue, Zidoleth isn't exactly known to be responsible. He has a tendency to shirk duties and responsibilities for something more fun. He would rather swim in the lake or sun on a ledge than go on Sweep drills; he wold rather watch the Hatching than pick up guests; he would much rather do anything besides work, and if his rider doesn't keep him on task, Zidoleth might well gain a reputation for being unreliable. Honestly, if there's something urgent or important, you might want to send someone else because Zidoleth probably will get distracted or forget about it five seconds after you part ways.

Lastly, when he does find himself in trouble, this poor blue has a tendency to want to shirk blame. Perhaps it's his carefree attitude, or in innocence, but he's not very good at owning up to things he did wrong. As a Hatchling he'll happily make up stories and lie, even to his own rider! Of course, his lies aren't very good and will likely cause him some trouble with Aviroth and other ranking riders. If his own rider doesn't put a stop to it, or really get on him, and if he continues to get away with his little white lies, he might well continue such a habit well into adulthood. Unlike some in his clutch who are manipulative and lie to cause harm, Zidoleth's tend to happen only when he's being caught in some sort of trouble. He never truly means harm, but its certainly not a good habit for an adult.

Positive Traits: Carefree, Sense of Wonder, Innocent
Negative Traits: Gullible, Irresponsible, Dishonest

Adult Size: 24'

Physical Attributes: Zidoleth tends to be long of neck and wing, but his body rather stout, and he actually is quite small for a blue. There is a soft bit of babyfat on this dragon that he'll never quite outgrow, a softness that makes him look a bit younger. He also has a very long snout that he'll never quite grow into! It's a distinctive snout, but not proportioned to the rest of him.

Additional Notes: Zidoleth enjoys a good flight, when they're fun! If the green is too serious, he'll likely not be interested. Gender and color are no issue for this blue, who seems to love freely when he can. Whether he ever finds a true OTP remains to be seen.

Theme Song: When You Wish Upon a Star Cover by Lexi Walker
Egg: A small pink and white egg that sits near the center of the clutch. This egg seems is yearning for something, or someone.

Why Me? Rahmi and Zidoleth are a solid and reliable match. To start, where Rahmi is known to be a bit more shy and a lot more reserved, he'll find that this blue dragon will have no problem dragging him into a crowd. Sociable and happy-go-lucky sum up the blue, and he's more than prepared to get Rahmi out of his comfort zone. If Rahmi won't go to the party, then Zidoleth will happily bring the party to him. This curious blue will always happily ask questions, and will enjoy learning all about this new world he's hatched into. Rahmi can expect quite the curious pupil in Zidoleth, who will never get bored of learning about Rahmi's hobbies or interests. There's hope that the dedicated and scholary Rahmi might well keep Zidoleth in line. Where the blue is prone to shirking responsibility, his rider might well be able to temper such behavior. Life isn't just fun and games, after all, and Rahmi is a sweet enough soul he might teach the blue a little temperance.

Zidoleth is known to fibs and sometimes lies; mostly to get himself out of trouble. Rahmi is honest, almost to a fault. Rahmi will have no choice but to learn when his dragon is trying to pull a fast one. On that same token, there is an opportunity for Zidoleth to be forced to be a bit more honest purely through association.

While the match certainly has its opposites, these two will better balance one another out. Together, with time and some maturity, they shall both become competent riders.

Origin of Name: First introduced in the story "Kaa's Hunting" in The Jungle Book, Kaa is a huge and powerful snake, more than 100 years old and still in his prime. In "Kaa's Hunting", Bagheera and Baloo enlist Kaa's help to rescue Mowgli when the man-cub is kidnapped by Bandar-log and taken to an abandoned human city called the Cold Lairs. Kaa breaks down the wall of the building in which Mowgli is imprisoned in and uses his serpentine hypnosis to draw the monkeys toward his waiting jaws. Bagheera and Baloo are also hypnotized, but Mowgli is immune because he is human and breaks the spell on his friends.

Kaa is often considered to be an anaconda, especially in the Disney interpretation.

Although the name anaconda applies to a group of snakes, it is often used to refer only to one species in particular, the common or green anaconda (Eunectes murinus) which is the largest snake in the world by weight, and the second longest.

The name commonly used for the anaconda in Brazil is sucuri, sucuriju or sucuriuba, which is where Sucurith's name is dervied.

Inspiration: Trust In Me - The Jungle Book

"Trust in Me (The Python's Song)" is a song in the widely popular Walt Disney film, The Jungle Book, from 1967. The song was sung by Sterling Holloway playing the part of "Kaa, the snake". The song was written by Disney staff songwriters, Robert and Richard Sherman. In the song, Kaa hypnotizes Mowgli into a calm, soothing, relaxing trance, sending Mowgli walking along his body until he finally coils himself around Mowgli just like he did earlier. As the song concludes, Kaa readies himself to devour the boy, only to be stopped by Shere Khan the tiger in his search for Mowgli.

The Shermans were brought onto the film by Walt Disney due to Disney's feeling that the interpretation was keeping too true to the Rudyard Kipling book. In a deliberate effort to keep the score "light", this song as well as the Sherman Brothers' other contributions generally concern darker subject matter than the accompanying music would suggest.

Personality: Sucurith hatched from the egg wiser, perhaps, than some of his clutchsibs; he is not nearly as gullible or naive as some on the sands, and is the sort of dragon who seems to have eyes and ears everywhere. He's an old soul, and one who is seemingly mature beyond his Turns. He is a terribly clever creature that who loves to learn, and is the sort of dragon who uses the information he gets to his, and others, advantage.

His clutchsibs will learn that they can rely on Sucurith when they have questions or wish to know something. Even when he doesn't know, this blue will have no trouble making something up, or at least coming up with some sort of answer. Whether it's right or wrong, it doesn't matter to Sucurith; what matters is that the one he's told believes him. He would never make up an outlandish tale, and would deny ever intentionally misleading someone if called out on it. Him? Oh, he may have misspoke, or more likely, his wayward clutchsib simply misheard!

There's no type of trouble this blue can't worm his way out of, or his rider, for that matter. If his words don't impress, then his body will for Sucurith is a beautiful blue. This is a dragon that draws the eyes, not just due to his physical beauty, but the way he speaks, the way he moves, and the way he acts. There is almost something hypnotic about Sucurith, and if you're not careful, you might well fall victim to whatever he desires. He's the sort of dragon who seduces without effort; he is never outwardly cruel, but rest assured, he thinks of no one but himself and his rider. He's a hoarder of information, and will happily draw out secrets from the tongues of others one way or another. All that knowledge could become useful to him or his rider someday.... and Sucurith is the sort who will always have some sort of ace up his sleeve.

For all his wisdom, for all his craftiness, Sucurith is very much a coward. When things get tough, or he finds it time to pay the piper, this blue has no trouble turning tail. He is easily dominated by those who don't fall for his charms, and he is afraid of hard work and Threadfall. Though he knows the enemy and knows they must destroy it, it is during actual Fall that his cowardice shows through. He can't talk or seduce his way out of the fight, and Threadfall will burn him as easily as it will the more disposable.

His rider will need to keep a firm grip on this blue. Sucurith might well love his rider, but he also thinks he might have the better plan. It's easy to believe in Sucurith; it's easy to fall prey to his games. Trusting him is a bad idea, and he knows it. Perhaps that's why this blue tends to keep himself aloof. While he would never turn another's company away, and he can be quite charming and sociable, he doesn't especially like to form close relationships. Only a small few will worm their way into his affections or get to see the genuine side of Sucurith.

Positive Traits: Wise, Seductive, Knowledgeable
Negative Traits: Mistrustful, Sly, Coward

Adult Size: 29'
Physical Attributes: Sucurith is less a large blue and more a long blue.
He is on the larger end of the spectrum as far as his color goes but most of it is made up of an extra long tail and neck. His body is actually quite small and petite. He is thin, made of fine bone, and entirely delicate. Still, he is swift when he is in the air, and terribly agile both on the ground and in the air.

Additional Notes: Sucurith's movements are always slinky and almost hypnotic to watch. He's a skydancer, and likes to show off while in the air. He also will likely have a preference seducing handsome men and getting to wrap around them and their hearts.

His rider will need to ensure that Sucurith actually chews his food. He will always have a tendency to want to swallow larger-than-necessary chunks, or not chew as much as he should. This can cause thicktail and constipation as he grows, and even as an adult.

Theme Song: Trust In Me by Elsie Lovelock
Egg: Yellow & Pink Striped Mystery Egg Four

Why Me? This beautiful dragon was in need of a beautiful rider, and he found that, and more, in Amaretti. To start, these two will make a striking pair no matter where they go. This dragon with his ability to naturally draw the eye and seduce, along with his riders brand of charm will ensure that the right people will always be looking at them. Like rider like dragon, there is no situation they can't get themselves untangled from, and Amaretti will find a kindred spirit within her blue.

Sucurith understands Amaretti's need to keep others at a distance. He himself enjoys learning new things about anyone and everyone, and he'll happily share such knowledge with his rider if she might find some use for it. On the other hand, he will happily keep all her secrets, and ensure that she need not be vulnerable. She can trust that Sucurith is a blue who always has a plan, and is always thinking of ways to better their situation.

On the flipside, Amaretti is strong enough to keep the blues games from going too far--assuming she wants to stop them. She will always have the upper hand with this blue, and is keen enough to know how to see through his tricks. Her fearlessness will also match well against Sucurith's cowardice; when the going gets tough, you can bet this blue will try to find a way to turn tail--but Amaretti's fearlessness will ensure she can get her blue back in the game, or at least, ensure that he doesn't panic completely.

Together, these two will be a force to reckon with at the Weyr. They'll be trouble, but beautiful trouble...and their prey will always go down willingly. Watch out High Reaches... They're all yours now.

Blue Florianth
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by -_Wish of Tevarae_-

User Image

Origin of Name: The Prince in Snow White is variously known as simply the Prince and also Prince Charming. However, according to the official Disney Princess line, he goes by another name: Prince Florian. Prince Florian was a mysterious and romantic figure whose major contributions to the film were accepting a kiss from a dove and kissing Snow White awake. His song, One Song, follows directly after Snow White's I'm Wishing.

Inspiration: Someday My Prince Will Come -- Snow White

Snow White was Walt Disney's first full length feature film, and began the grand tradition of the Disney Princess film. It was a formula that worked quite well, as is evidenced by the Disney Princess franchise that thrives to this day. The film was based on the Brother's Grimm Snow White, which may have been inspired by one of more historical events.

Whatever the origin, the princess's fate is hardly so pleasant as in the feature film. However, sources agree that she was most likely poisoned, but did not awaken from sleep as in the tale. The story of Snow White may have been influenced by elements of old traditional tales from around the world. For example, the tale of the witch queen who asks the mirror who is fairest of all far predates the Grimm Tale.

Personality: Siiiiiigh. Isn't love romantic? Truly, Florianth would dream away his life if he could... although his brave heart is certainly not afraid to act in defense of his beloved Pern! He is unfailingly peppy, filled with curiosity and an innate sense of wonder. There are places to go, and things to see, and perhaps one day he will see them all. For now, however, he will daydream about love until he finds it.

He believes in his hearts that all who wish to be rescued might be, and that one might be able to turn another away from an ill path if only one made a great enough effort. He's not right, but it's a sweet thought. However, when he's proved quite wrong about someone, and betrayed, there is steel in his spine. However hopeful he might be of saving others, he recognizes that sometimes action is needed above wishes.

And don't worry, Florianth is here to prove exactly how capable he truly is! There is very little that his larger brothers can do that he cannot. He is noble and determined, and quite sturdy to boot. If nothing else, he will stubborn his way out of a situation if necessary, enduring hardship after hardship if there is no other way out. For this blue has tremendous stamina when it comes to difficult situations.

However, it is worryingly likely that he will throw himself into danger to protect a loved one. He is prone to heroics and grand gestures, and will be heedless of the catastrophic outcomes that might arise. At the end of the day, however, if he does get himself into a mess, it's his own doing, and although he might like to be rescued from himself, he knows that he's at fault. That doesn't mean that he won't try... and try again.

Positive Traits: Dreamy, Romantic, Brave
Negative Traits: Idealistic, Headstrong, Foolhardy

Adult Size: 24'
Physical Attributes: Small but beautifully adorned, Florianth cuts quite a figure. He is not concerned about his smaller stature, for his heart is pure and brave, as is evidenced by his proud and upright posture. His build is fit, that of a prince among dragons.

Additional Notes: Florianth has a deep and abiding love of flowers. But more than that, he has a terrible penchant for love stories, and would adore nothing more than listening to them endlessly. Oh yes, please do go on! When he does find his one true love, and indeed he will have one, he will be utterly devoted to that dragon, much as he is to his rider. He has a musical inclination, and will likely serenade those he admires with his melodious voice. It is not evident whether he has a preference regarding who his future love might be, but he does want badly to find them.

Theme Song: Someday My Prince Will Come Eurobeat Remix
Egg: A blue egg with a white tribal pattern close to the front. There is a sense of romance about this egg, and those who get too close might find their hearts a flutter.

Why Me? Dearest Calla, who else could Florianth have chosen? She need not pretend to be a Harper any longer, though Florianth does have a deep and abiding love of music. The blue dragon, who is quite blind to the flaws of others, needs her perception above all else. But Calla, who has been dreaming of a true love all her own, will discover in Florianth that very thing. He may not be a handsome man, but he is a handsome prince of a blue - and he loves her through and through. He is as obsessed with finding his own true love as she, and hopes that they might have a magical, musical journey through life to find that very thing which they both so desperately desire.

Blue Yudokhath
Written by Teiha
Colored by stella cinere

User Image

Origin of Name: 유력한, which can be romanized as the name Yu Ryeok Han, is a Korean word meaning “potent, strong, effective, ruling.” Yudokhath’s personality, while laid back, is strong and self-contained when compared to his rider’s. He exists to lend his strength to Farinalgo, applying it in such a way so as to be more effective than any other influence in the man’s life. In short, he’s the yang to Farin’s yin.

Inspiration: “Lesson Number One” is a song from Disney’s Mulan II, sung by Mulan and a group of little girls from her village during a training montage. It’s a song about being balanced and well-rounded—for example, able to be both strong and gentle when necessary, and being brave even if you’re scared. And maybe NOT CRYING even though your emotions are wildly stirred. The inspiration was chosen more to be about the completion that occurs when a dragon and rider bond than either being particularly balanced on their own.

Personality: This blue is a well-spoken dragon who loves a good conversation, especially when had from a comfortable, scenic view. He’d very much rather be doing that than wing drills or actually fighting thread—when he’s old enough, that is. The occasional flight of fancy, leisurely paced for the sole pleasure of flying with his rider, would be ideal. Perhaps as a tangent to his preference for putting in the smallest amount of effort required, Yudokhath despises handholding and refuses to do it. He’ll be nice the first time, but after that, it’s a cold fish to the face to anyone who expects the sympathy to keep flowing. “Sink or swim” is his peculiarly appropriate motto.

That attitude might tweak the feelings of more sensitive types, but it would be a rare occasion that he would treat someone that way out of actual anger. He’s generally very laid back and positive, if a little self-focused. He likes to present himself as being charming and having it together, making use of polite words and flattery.

Positive Traits: Decorous, stable, articulate, blithe
Negative Traits: Harsh, lazy, vain

Adult Size: 25’
Physical Attributes: Yudokhath’s disposition toward indolence inclines him to be a tad overweight, but he is otherwise rakishly lanky. If he were human, he’d be considered vulpine-like, tall and slim, lacking in both bulky muscles and feminine softness. His tail is extra long, wingspan narrow from front to back but wide from tip to tip, and his eyes are often narrowed in a peaceful expression that can occasionally be mistaken for sleepiness.

Additional Notes: He tends to not chase very often, unless he is especially attracted to a rising green or another male riles him enough to join. He’s just too lazy to care all that much.

Theme Song: Mulan II — Lesson Number One (There are really no covers or remixes of this, unless you want to be made very uncomfortable trying to sit through one.)
Egg: Mystery Egg 8

Why Me? Let’s face it: Farin needs to learn some balance. I mean, the bloke cries at anything even remotely moving or painful. And he can get bloody annoying when he’s happy, too. Just calm down a little, all right?

What was that about balance, Yudokhath? Who’s the lazy one around here? Farin’s energy and social aptitudes will help to lovingly force Yudokhath out of his slothful ways. And nothing counteracts vanity like a bit of tasteful filth, am I right? Bath time will be quite an adventure for this pair, no doubt about it.

Despite his focus on decorum, Yudokhath is willing to get up from his comfy spot and join in on the fun as long as Farin can remember to curb himself. He enjoys the spotlight as much as his rider, and would be a perfect assistant for any lesson or demonstration Farinalgo can come up with. Farin has shown time and time again that sympathy only weakens his ability to control his emotions—Yudokhath is more than happy to show this wilting flower some tough love. Both boys have some aspects that are a bit out of proportion, but the other has something to help make up for it, while also strengthening each other’s good traits. As the song says, one is not enough, you need both together.

Blue Ingonth
Written by Uta
Colored by Andranis

User Image

Origin of Name: As the main character in the Emperor's New Groove is based on a llama, it is only fitting that Ingonth's name is as well. Ingon is Javanese for the word llama.

Inspiration: Perfect World -- The Emperor's New Groove
"Perfect World" is a song featured in Disney's The Emperor's New Groove. It was written by Sting but is sung by Tom Jones as the Theme Song Guy. It essentially summarized the main character, Kuzco, and how the world essentially revolves around him.

The 40th animated feature in the Disney Animated Canon, the film is a comedy including adult and child humor. Produced by Randy Fullmer and directed by Mark Dindal over a six-year production timeline, The Emperor's New Groove was altered significantly from its original concept as a more traditional Disney musical entitled Kingdom of the Sun, to have been directed by Dindal and Roger Allers (co-director of The Lion King).

Personality: Ingonth is a spoiled creature, and that's putting it lightly. This blue dragon is known to be self-centered, vain, pompous, haughty... If he can, this blue will certainly try to make any situation about him, and why shouldn't he? As far as Ingonth is concerned, he was the best egg in the clutch; the best blue on Pern; the best dragon to ever dragon. As far as he's concerned, color doesn't matter--even though his hide doesn't sparkle or glimmer like some, he knows his own worth, and will never be shaken from such an idea. On the plus side, this makes the blue dragon confident and bold. He doesn't know the definition of insecurity, and moves with confidence in everything he does.

Unfortunately, he is a bit too confident. His confidence, mixed with his vanity, has turned him into a very self-centered creature. Everything Ingonth does likely has some sort of angle in it for him. Even at his most generous, you can bet this blue is considering how it somehow does something for him or his rider. Nothing he does comes free, but you might not know the price until it's too late.

Though he's a spoiled creature, there are some good qualities about Ingonth. He's known to have impeccable taste and thanks to his vanity, as well as his spoiled hearts, he has learned to be quite discerning. While this can often lead him in being overly-picky, and might hold him and his rider up, it can also help save lives; his riding straps and his rider's riding gear will always be top-knotch; he will always be vocal about the smallest of injuries or pain points to himself or his rider; and he will certainly ensure that he IS top notch at whatever they must accomplish.

Very little intimidates or frightens Ingonth, because he knows he is great, knows he is glam, and believes himself to be on top of the world. He isn't frightened of any dragon larger than him, or any color for that matter. He will sass anyone he pleases, much to his possible detriment, and he doesn't always know when to keep himself quiet. Unless his rider keeps him in check, this blue will have no trouble demanding whatever he pleases.

Positive Traits: Bold, Shrewd, Cheeky
Negative Traits: Spoiled, Self-Centered, Vain

Adult Size: 27'
Physical Attributes: Ingonth is a very thin and very tall blue dragon. He has a long muzzle, long headknobs, and long wings. He is everything a blue dragon should be--light on his feet, limber, and excessively fast in the sky. He cuts a striking figure while in the air, and doesn't he knows it! He'll always be naturally trim and sleek.

Additional Notes: Ingonth enjoys spending time with herdbeasts. While he will eat them when he must, he seems to have a clear preference for wherry, wild porcine, and even sea faring game. He also has a perverse fondness for spinach puffs.

You can bet this blue will be picky about flights. He probably would prefer to be the one being chased.

Theme Song: Perfeect World [Sorry, we couoldn't find a super great cover. :c ]
Egg: Grey and Pink Mystery Egg Three

Why Me? Never has there been a conceit more impressive than Ingonth's, until he locked eyes with Torrin. Though he might only be the spare heir, with Ingonth at his side, this blue has every intention of elevating both their status. On the one hand, the two have no shortage of things in common; they are both over looked due to matters outside their control. Torrin was the timing of his birth, and Ingonth is only a blue. While this may put them at a disadvantage in society, Ingonth is clever and driven enough to ensure that it won't be a problem. With Torrin's ability to manipulate and charm, and Ingonth's cleverness, the blue is quite certain they can make friends with all the right people. Furthermore, both of them are rather vain creatures; Ingonth will have no problem feeding Torrin's ego, whether it's a facade or not, and will expect due praise himself.

No matter what Torrin's goals are, he now has a very vocal, and very determined blue dragon to support him in all his ambitions. What Torrin wants is now what Ingonth wants--and he will do whatever he must to aid his rider. There is nothing they can achieve, and Ingonth will have no trouble enacting revenge if that's what needs to be done. He's not the sort of blue to hold back his rider from his goals. Torrin, for his part, is the only being Ingonth genuinely loves more than himself. This blue might be self-centered, but his rider is his entire world. Perhaps Torrin is accustomed to living a lie, but there is nothing but truth in his bond with Ingonth. This is the one being he can be sincere around; the one being he doesn't have to try to fool.

Ingonth knows him inside and out, and adores everything he finds. Together, there is nothing the two of them can't achieve.

Green Jinniyath
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by Smerdle

User Image

Origin of Name: Jinniyah - female variant of jinn. Jinn, often anglicized as genie or djinn, are a class of power beings in the pre-Islamic Arabian beliefs that later became incorporated into Islam. Not angels or demons, jinn were as often good or bad, or anything in between. Supernatural beings once worshiped, they became essentially a pre-human creation of Allah. Like humans, jinn are subject to Allah's judgement, and have similar needs - the need to eat, drink, and have families. Jinn exist in a state that is caught between spiritual and natural, having a form but yet remaining invisible to the human gaze. In folklore jinn are powerful, magical beings capable of great feats, quite a departure from Islamic beliefs.

Inspiration: Friend Like Me - Aladdin

Perhaps one of the most iconic songs in Disney's arsenal, Friend Like Me was voiced by the late, beloved Robin Williams. Famously excellent as a character actor, Robin Williams did a phenomenal job of improvising some of the most memorable lines in Disney's Aladdin. Known for his comedic genius, Robin Williams lent an unforgettable charisma to the character. The song Friend Like Me introduces the capabilities of the genie, as well as showcasing the talents of Disney's animators. Hands and arms inside of the carpet, guys, because here Jinniyath goes!

Personality: Tell me, dear friend, what does your heart desire? For Jinniyath is quite skilled at manifesting her rider's deepest yearnings. In point of fact, she's actually rather good at bringing her own wishes to bear, as well. Charming, vibrant, and engaging, there are few dragons who would long resist her spell. She's splendidly talented at telling stories, loving nothing more than spinning an outrageous tale for anyone who will listen - although generally those tall tales are meant to get Jinniyath her way.

That waggling tongue has a tendency to get her in and out of trouble, which she laughs off with aplomb. Very little will get her down, as she's so entirely distractible. Although she does find herself enthralling others to the point of attraction, Jinniyath herself doesn't harbor such strong feelings. Certainly, she finds it difficult to devote herself utterly to one companion, as there are so many, many interesting dragons to meet. She has a penchant for breaking hearts, which she definitely doesn't meant to do. However, she's not overly sorrowful about it, believing that those who let their hearts get tied down are a little naive.

Jinniyath is her own best advocate. However, that can often give others the impression of arrogance. Maybe it's deserved, maybe it isn't, but let Jinniyath tell you how she single-handedly rescued an entire hold all by herself! And while you're listening, she'll just help herself to that choice bit of wherry. Mm. When she actually accomplishes something worthwhile, have no fear. You'll hear all about it. Each time she tells the story it will be grander, more dramatic with the telling. Suddenly, what once was a minor encounter will become a major stand-off with pirates. But don't accuse Jinniyath of lying, as she'll be very hurt indeed.

Positive Traits: Gregarious, impressive, creative
Negative Traits: Boastful, swindling, flighty

Adult Size: 28'
Physical Attributes: Enormously beautiful, this dazzling green is quite large for her color. She has a muscular build with wide wings that easily catch the sky.

Additional Notes: Jinniyath has a bit of a hoarding personality. She likes to keep splendid things near her, and quite enjoys having them around her weyr. Bright gems and rich tapestry especially catch her eye - although she'd be just as happy with colorful glass baubles. Romantically Jinniyath is a free spirit, although it may well be that she will one day come to find someone to treasure for her very own. Especially if they enjoy listening to her stories.

Theme Song: Friend Like Me cover by Evynne Hollens
Egg: A medium mottled purple egg near the back of the clutch. This egg draws the egg and seems a bit flamboyant.

Why Me? Oh Iziquin! Jinniyath has found the perfect partner in crime. It is almost certain that one of the reasons the green chose Iziquin is because they share a mutual love of stories. In Jinniyath's case, she enjoys telling stories, but those tales might very well one day be based on tidbits of gossip that Iziquin has dug up. This pair of clever girls have the potential to go far, sharing a heavy helping of confidence and talent between them. One might not assume it to look at Izi, but Jinniyath just knows that she's going places! Maybe the Weyr they're at isn't the most convenient for Greens or their riders, but she just knows that they'll fit right in, all the same.

Green Ileneth
Written by Uta
Colored by demon_pachabel

User Image

Origin of Name: Ileneth is named after the original voice actress, Ilene Woods. About 400 contestants auditioned for the role of Cinderella. Out of them all, Walt Disney chose Ilene Woods, who worked on the radio at the time and did not know anything about the audition. One day, her colleagues Mack David and Jerry Livingston asked her to sing a song from Cinderella, and she agreed. Then, without saying a word to her, friends of Ilene transferred to the office of film Disney. After listening to the material, Walt Disney immediately decided that he had found the voice with which to speak and sing its main character, and contacted Ilene.

Inspiration: A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes -- Cinderella

"A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" is a song written and composed by Mack David, Al Hoffman and Jerry Livingston for the Walt Disney film Cinderella (1950). In the song Cinderella (as sung by Ilene Woods)
encourages her animal friends to never stop dreaming, and that theme continues throughout the entire story. The theme of the song was taken from Franz Liszt's Etude No. 9 Ricordanza of the Transcendental Etudes.

Thematically, the lyrics recall the sentiments expressed in "When You Wish upon a Star" from Pinocchio (1940). In equating a dream with a wish, the song establishes that Cinderella is using the word "dream" in the metaphorical sense of desires that can, as the lyric promises, "come true." "When You Wish Upon A Star" makes this same promise, as does other Disney material. The literal meaning of the word, as something that happens "when you're fast asleep", reappears in another Disney song, "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty (1959).

Personality: Ileneth might be small for a green, but there is no doubt she is one of the sweeties of her clutch. This green dragon is gentle on all accounts; she doesn't move forcefully or aggressively, she doesn't speak loudly, and moves softly in everything she does. She is tender of personality, and is the sort of dragon who lives in hope.

No matter how rough things get, no matter how bad life can seem, Ileneth looks towards the future. Things will get better, evil will be overcome, and good will conquer all. She is the sort of green who knows her limits, but that doesn't stop her from dreaming of the future, and hoping for the best outcome possible. When her clutchmates or rider seem down, this green is always there to provide support.

Empathetic, even for a dragon, Ileneth would never cause undue harm. Though she feasts on meat, she never eats more than her fair share, and certainly will try to hunt quickly and swiftly so as not to cause undue pain or strife. She grows sad when her loved ones are sad, but also shares in their joys; she hurts for them when they have broken hearts, but cheers for them when they succeed in a goal. She is a supportive green, and will always be there for her family and rider.

Unfortunately, Ileneth can be naive. Her hope for the future, her desire for goodness to conquer all, can sometimes make her blind to the reality of a situation. Sometimes evil does triumph, or someone is just plain awful. There are certain dragons who will easily take advantage of her good nature, and she will be tricked, used, and abused without a second thought for the devastation it might cause her. It will be up to her rider to try to keep Ileneth from falling into a more cunning or manipulative dragon's clutches.

Furthermore, as a naive green, Ileneth can be a bit inhibited. She is very modest for a green and tends to keep herself conservative. She likes having curfews. She doesn't really care for crowds or parties, and certainly doesn't know anything about boys or maiden flights! This green can easily be put to blush (or the dragon equivalent) and might well keep herself from trying new things due to more conservative and naive ideas.

Additionally, she's known to be emotional, especially when she does find a situation hopeless, or her dreams crushed. Grief comes easy for such a sensitive heart, and her hearts bruise deeply. Her rider will need to be there for her when life hands her lemons, and help her through the hardships and circumstances where there is no happy ending.

Positive Traits: Empathetic, Gentle, Hopeful
Negative Traits: Naive, Emotional, Inhibited

Adult Size: 23'
Physical Attributes: Ileneth is an average sized green, but with little feet and hands. She does look, perhaps, a bit oddly proportioned but her small feet don't seem to stop her from moving! She has large eyes, even for a dragon, and always seems to displays expressive mixes of color. Her wings are also a bit small for her size, but allow her to make tight turns while in air.

Additional Notes: Ileneth has a very expressive warble and seems to like to sing or hum melodiously. She's a bit shy about expressing it, but her rider will hear her do so when they're together. She also seems to have a fondness for animals, and won't hesitate to cuddle up to any wher, or even some of the feeding livestock.

Flights will be an emotional time for Ileneth. She might well fall in love with every dragon who catches her, believing them to be her true Hearts Desire. Whether or not that's the case....well, her rider might need to break the news gently that such a thing might not be the case.

Close with When You Wish Upon a Star & Once Upon a Dream?

Theme Song: A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes by Lily James
Egg: A small orange egg with pale yellow stars. It rests quietly to the side, and doesn't seem to be vying for any sort of attention.

Why Me? Sayuri's unassuming, shy, and quiet nature initially attracted Ileneth to her. But it was her big heart, and her love for those in need that made her stay. Sayuri's compassionate and caring nature are exactly what this delicate and empathic little green needs. She needs someone who is as soft and tender as not to spook her or force her into the limelight; but someone who has a nurturing soul and might help draw her out of her shell.

Sayuri's hard-work ethic will give Ileneth the direction she's lacking. In turn, this green will be there to support her efforts caring the sick, and to keep them both out of trouble. She knows that Sayuri doesn't care for conflict, but luckily enough, this green is one of the least troublesome out of both clutches!

By Impressing to Sayuri, Ileneth is is proof that the girl is meant to be in the Weyr, and meant to shine. The green's hopeful and supportive nature, matched with Sayuri'drive, will make them most welcome in any Wing they're tapped into.

Green Yulaniath
Written by Mr Cheri
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: Yulaniath is taken from the subgenus of magnolia by the name Magnolia yulania. Mulan's name means magnolia - and indeed, it is the name of a specific type of magnolia native to southwestern China, the Magnolia liliiflora, or Mulan magnolia. The beautiful shrub is known to blossom in early spring, the flowers having a lily-like shape but in hues of deep pink to purple. Hua Mulan is properly translated to Flower Magnolia, and so this floral name seems only fitting.

Inspiration: I'll Make a Man Out of You -- Mulan

Although the Disney version of Mulan ends on an uplifting note, it is not surprising, perhaps, that there are variations to the tale. Hua Mulan, in all adaptations, enlisted in place of her father. However, there is one tale that is particularly dear to this author's heart - that is in the Romance of Sui and Tang. Hua Mulan's father, Hua Hu, is father to two daughters and one son - but his son is only a wee babe when Heshan Khan sends out riders to conscript men to fight against the Tang dynasty. The Tang Dynasty represents a great threat to the region, for they are at the cusp of conquering all of China.

It is here that Hua Mulan's heroics come into play. Rather than allowing her father to face almost certain death in the army, she disguises herself as a boy and puts herself forward in his stead. On her journey out to join the army, she is taken in for questioning by the daughter of the Xia King Dou Jiande, Xianniang. Xianniang, who sees Hua Mulan as a male warrior whom she might add to her army, is overjoyed to discover that she is a female warrior like herself. Mulan and Xianniang become sworn sisters from that moment on.

Dou Jiande is defeated by the Tang forces, and Hua Mulan and Xianniang surrender themselves to the Tang Emperor, Taizong, to be executed in his stead. So moved by this gesture was the Emperor that he not only spared the deposed King, but also the two women. His mother, the Imperial Consort, gifts Hua Mulan and Xianniang monies for Mulan's family and for the Princess's wedding. Dou Jiande then lives out his days as a monk. Unfortunately, matters do not proceed so smoothly for Mulan, who returned to her home in order to move her parents to their new home, Princess Xianniang's old capital of Leshou.

When Hua Mulan returns home, she discovers that her father has died and that her mother remarried. Furthermore, the Khan has sent a summons to the family dwelling, declaring that Hua Mulan was to be brought to his palace to become his concubine. Devastated by the turn of events, Hua Mulan entrusts her little sister Youlan with the task of bringing a letter to Xianniang's fiancé. Mulan chooses to die rather than surrender herself to the Khan, stating that she had "been through war and done enough, and now wished to be reunited with her father."

Personality: Among the most brave of all greens to have been shelled, Yulaniath is not without fears, but acts in spite of them. She is only one smaller green, but even a small green can make a huge impact upon the world. It is this which Yulaniath wishes to do most of all - to stand up for what is right, and to make a difference in the world. Pern and all of its inhabitants are dearly beloved to her. This warrior will not go down without a fight, and if she could, she would put herself forward as a sacrifice if only it would appease Thread's lust for destruction and death. But as only a dragon's flames can at last quench Thread, she will become a mighty fighter.

She possesses good, true hearts. Her devotion to her family and her home knows no bounds. Although her place among her family is that of a fighting green, she knows that it is a valuable one, and she will take on that role with pride and greatest honor. No one will ever be able to tell Yulaniath that there is a more suitable place for her that bringing her talents to bear, utilizing her quick and clever mind to do more damage to her enemy than her small body might suggest. She was not hatched to be a Queen, no. There is a higher purpose, and she will serve with honor.

Yulaniath possesses gentle hearts that are full of love for those close to her. She will show that love by dedicating herself to becoming the best fighter that she can, certain to be a credit to any Wing lucky enough to have her. However, if Yulaniath does not believe that an order she is given will win the greatest outcome, she may choose to follow her own heart and mind. She will voice her thoughts to her commander first, but if she is ignored, she may take matters into her own claws. For a wise commander should not be above listening to those beneath him or her.

This tendency can sometimes place her in grave danger, however, as she is inclined to heroics. A plan that might best suit the Weyr may also put Yulaniath in harm's way, and that may be why her superior chose not to heed it. If not curbed, she will dart forward once she's made up her mind, for this green is prone to decisive action. She would have made a great leader, herself, had she not been shelled at High Reaches, but even Yulaniath needs to be taught how to hold back. Sometimes the best action is inaction - waiting for the proper moment to strike, rather than risking all on a gambit.

Positive Traits: Brave, Protective, Clever, Independent
Negative Traits: Stubborn, Foolhardy, Reckless, Self-sacrificing

Adult Size: 20'
Physical Attributes: Small and compact, Yulaniath nonetheless is an exceptional green. She has the build of a fighter, with not a scrap of hide wasted. Her claws are particularly sharp and well honed.

Additional Notes: This green is likely to be a splendid Threadfighter. Her endurance is particularly remarkable for her color, and she excels at turning on a dime. Her bravery and heroism will put her at the front of the line, time and time again. In Flights she's likely to last long, tiring out even some of her Brown suitors. Wherever she devotes her hearts, it will be out of love, and not due to the color of her chosen partner's hide.

Theme Song: I'll Make a Man out of You cover by Broken City Sky
Egg: A large pink egg near the front, with a few white stripes, and a splash of gold. This egg seems fiercely protective and seems to be watching you.

Why Me? Shar takes to the role of protector like she was born to it - something which she shares in common with Yulaniath. The green admires many qualities about Shar, and has since they first met while she was in the egg. Certainly, Shar cannot be faulted for her bravery, nor for her tendency to take care of others. This strong green needs an equally strong rider, and has found exactly that in Shar. Perhaps she wishes to be like Hua Mulan and Xianniang, sworn sisters in battle. For they are embattled - their destiny is to become part of Pern's fighting force against the age old menace. Yulaniath is certain that Shar has what it takes to be her equal partner, and she will fight to the bitter end to protect her family, just as Shar might.

Green Ulendoth
Written by Uta
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: As the Disney film was about a girl on a great adventure, it is only fitting that Ulendoth's name follows suit. This green is named after the translation of 'adventure' in the Nyanja language, which is ulendo.

Inspiration: How Far I'll Go - Moana

"How Far I'll Go" is a song from Disney's 2016 animated feature film Moana. It was written and produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The song was performed in the film by American actress and singer Auliʻi Cravalho in her role as Moana. It was released along with the album on November 18, 2016.

"How Far I'll Go" was composed as Moana's "I Want" song, following in the long tradition of "I Want" songs in 1990s Disney animated musicals. It replaced an earlier attempt called "More", for which the demo version recorded by Marcy Harriell was released as an outtake on the deluxe version of the soundtrack album. Although Miranda has stressed that he is still "very proud of" the song as a first draft, "More" was not good enough in retrospect because it merely expressed Moana's vague desire to see more since she had already figured out everything about the island. In contrast, "How Far I'll Go" expresses a deeper, richer message: Moana's struggle with the irresistible impulse to explore beyond the reef notwithstanding her genuine love for her island, her family, and her people. As Miranda explained to People: "To me that's much more complicated than, 'I hate it here and I want to get out,' ... To say, ‘I love it here, I love my parents, but why can't I stop walking to the ocean and fantasizing about getting out of here?' And questioning that instinct? It's even more confusing. And that's a valid story too."

Personality: Ulendoth hatched out of the egg ready to go! Life is one big adventure, and this green is absolutely ready to take it by storm. There is no place too far for this green to go, no mountain too high for her to cross, no ocean to wide for her to fly over. Honestly, this green is gnawing at the bit to be free, and it will be up to her rider to rein her in.

Unfortunately, her rider will have a bit of a challenge in herding Ulendoth's focus. This green tends to be headstrong, and doesn't have any problem standing up for her beliefs. When she wants something, she'll get it--and just you try to keep her from it! This green knows how to out stubborn a mule and will dig her claws in until the other party gives up, or gives in. Only a gold's command will force her to change her ways--or her rider. If her rider really wants her to do something, Ulendoth will likely grudgingly give in, but her rider had better put her foot down firmly, otherwise this green will do as she pleases.

To make matters worse, she's known for being impulsive. Ulendoth tends to be a doer, and can sometimes act first and only think about it later. Once she's got an idea to do something, you can bet this green will likely act. The same goes with her thoughts and opinions. She has no trouble telling someone her feelings, and isn't known to sugar-coat or hold back. She's a green with Strong Feelings, and you will hear about them, along with her rider, and any other dragon nearby. This can and often will get her in trouble.

Lastly, and perhaps the trait that gets her in the most trouble is the fact that Ulendoth is all about breaking with tradition. She doesn't want to just be at the bottom of the totem pole. No, this green knows she meant for greatness, and she wants to shake things up! She will certainly try to muscle her way through the ranks, though she likely won't find much traction. She might bemoan her fate to Krahsujunth or Fianth, and potentially yearn for the day she can be free as Rixth. Isn't the world much larger than Threadfall? Would they really miss one green, especially one who they won't allow rise up in the ranks? Ulendoth honestly likes to shake things up, and fight the system, though it might well cause her rider no amount of trouble.

Positive Traits: Spirited, Intrepid, Courageous
Negative Traits: Non-Traditional, Impulsive, Headstrong

Adult Size: 27'
Physical Attributes: Large for her color, this green dragon has curves in the right places. She is soft for a dragon, but not at all out of shape, or overweight. She is big boned, and large, and certainly able to take a hit, as well as pack a punch, when she tries. Her wings are large, and though her takeoffs aren't exactly graceful, once on wing, she is all about showing off her tricks and aerial maneuvers. Her head knobs are a bit stubby, and her tail a little shorter than most, but she's still a lovely lady!

Additional Notes: Ulendoth will love the sea and all things water. She is particularly fond of beaches and will beg to see the water anytime she is able. Beach trips are particularly alluring for this green, as are trips away from the Weyr. She takes a bit after Rixth in this regard.

As for Flights, they're an adventure, and Ulendoth won't hesitate to fly frequently. Her flights do tend to be long for a green, usually the full half-hour, and rarely over the same area twice!

Theme Song: How Far I'll Go by Diamond White & KHS

Egg: A medium sized green egg with green cracks painted upon it sits loser to the back of the clutch. Let's go, let's go, let's go, it seems to say.

Why Me? Come on Roana! Let's blow this joint and have some fun! Honestly, while there were many adventurous spirits among the Candidates, there was only one who was her most perfect match. Like rider like dragon, both of these ladies have a love for the sea. You can bet Ulendoth is going to ask her a million questions until she can see it for herself, and will enjoy spending ample time at the lake no matter the season. Both are strong, capable spirits, and Ulendoth is certain that once they can fly, there is no place Roana won't take her!

These two may be a bit like fire and oil. Roana's headstrong nature could only spur on Ulendoth's impulsive nature; on that same token, the girl is strong enough, and has enough common sense, to keep this dragon in line especially when she wants to fight the system. There's a time and place for upending things, and if Roana wants to say out of trouble, she'll know how to keep Ulendoth in line. Honestly, Ulendoth needs a bit more guidance. Life might be a great adventure, but there's more to it than just having fun or travelling the world. And there won't be much of a world left without Threadfighters!

For her part, Ulendoth adores her rider. She knows Roana knows how to have fun, and could never be with someone who wasn't at least a bit playful. She will enjoy her sharp tongue and be her wings when she needs to taste a bit of freedom. They will make a very accomplished threadfighting pair...provided Roana can get Ulendoth to focus. Thread is its own adventure too, after all, and who doesn't like to play hero?

Green Matoath
Written by Teiha
Colored by stella cinere

User Image

Origin of Name: Matoath is not directly based off of Pocahontas herself, but some inspiration was taken from the character as well as her song. From the Disney wiki: "The given name of Pocahontas was Matoaka in real life, which means 'Bright Stream Between the Hills', while Pocahontas was her nickname."

Inspiration: Colors of the Wind - Pocahontas

Personality:
We are each sovereign over ourselves, and ourselves alone. We should strive to work together for the good of all, or at least leave each other in peace.

Matoath is a green whose hearts lie with harmony and a "live and let live" outlook. She believes everyone has a right to exist as they naturally are. Even the indolent have a purpose--to provide a balance against those who strive for action and greatness. The only ones who are wrong, in her opinion, are the ones who hurt others for their own gain, either on purpose or through ignorance. It is up to those who see and understand to lead by example, and when necessary, with words. And Matoath is good at that. She speaks in a low melodic, rolling tone that is very good at inducing calm in others, and chooses her words carefully.

While she is an advocate for anyone being bullied or otherwise mistreated, she can sometimes forget that there are always two sides to every story. It will happen less as she gets older and wiser, but she will also occasionally insert herself into a tense situation without knowing all the facts, and in doing so can end up saying something that puts her paw in her mouth, or defending the "wrong" participant. Along the same vein, she tries to be humble and gentle in her approach to problems with others, but once in a while she will just feel that strongly about something and speak a bit more harshly than intended.

Her slow and sinuous style of speech lends to one expecting her to be equally slow-moving, but Matoath is actually very fast, especially when she takes to the air. She has a great love for flying and carrying out extravagant, even reckless maneuvers when she can get away with it. To her, such movement is beautiful and liberating.

Positive Traits: Open-minded, wise beyond her years, adventurous, peace-loving
Negative Traits: Impulsive, reckless, can be vocally judgemental

Adult Size: 21'
Physical Attributes: Ah, the lovely Matoath: She's a soft-looking thing, all smooth curves and no sharp corners, but her looks are decieving. Matoath is shapely and strong. Her movements evoke the image of a bounding caprine or a pacing equine; full of grace, control and speed. Her wings are a bit smaller but more thickly-built than average, good for turning fast in the air without straining her digits or tearing her wingsails. Her eyes are almond-shaped, and her muzzle has a slight outcurve to it. She regards her surroundings with sedate confidence, knowing that she belongs to herself, and to her bonded--and no other.

Additional Notes: Matoath has a very creative spirit, and likely would have been a painter if she'd been human. Her subconscious is quite fertile: when faced with making a major decision or when dealing with any very stressful situation, she may process things through vivid dreams that appear to tell a story. While not every dream makes sense, some do offer ideas or perspectives that prove useful in making her choices.

She tends to associate sounds with colors, perhaps having a touch of synestheisa. This only occurs periodically, particularly with music, and only spoken voices or sounds will give her the sensation; not telepathic speech.

Theme Song: Colors of the Wind by Grace Lee
Egg: A small purple-blue egg with what almost looks like bright yellow lightning streaking down from it. There's nothing but serenity and peace about this egg.

Why Me? Sweet Amila, have no fear for your Matoath has found you. This match is a good match for both the dragon and the rider. To start, they have much in common. Matoath adores Amila's gentle heart. It matches with her own compassionate live-and-let-live nature. Sweetness, kindness, and goodness all draw this green and Amila certainly has that in droves.

Where Amila is unsure of her place, this green will be a solid compass. Her wisdom will hopefully allow the girl to better mature and stand more securely upon her feet as she finds her place as the newest greenrider of High Reaches Weyr. Amila will always have Matoath to lean against for advice, love, and support. She will never be lonely again, and will always have an advocate to help lift her up when her spirits fall low. On the flipside, Amila's charitable and kind heart will be able to soften any of Matoath's more harsher judgments; her good nature will also help keep Matoath in line should the green decide they are in need of a little adventure at the worst possible time.

Together, these two will make a solid addition to any Wing.

Origin of Name: Caniche is the French name for a Poodle. The name is derived from chien canard, meaning duck dog. In this case, Canicheth's name was inspired by the character, Georgette, who is an award-winning poodle in the film.

Inspiration: Perfect Isn't Easy - Oliver & Co.

This song introduces the character Georgette in the film Oliver & Co. In it, she shows off all her awards, and does a fine job of making it clear what sort of character Georgette is meant to be. It was composed and produced by Barry Manilow, Jack Feldman, and Bruce Sussman and performed by Bette Midler. It is the sixth song in the film. Additionally, both Scooby-Doo and Ratigan make appearances within the film. Their pictures are hanging on the wall of Georgette's beau's, an unusual deviation from Disney.

Personality: Out of all of Fianth's children, Canicheth is loud, proud, and not going to be outshone (or outdone) but anyone. This green was born oozing confidence, and is the sort of the dragon who doesn't second guess herself. She was born beautiful, and believes herself to be a cut above the rest. She isn't just another pretty face, no, she is perfection incarnate and just you try to tell her otherwise. This is a green who is going places, and knows how to work a room. Once she has her eyes on something, nothing will get her way from obtaining it. If you try to hold her back or keep her from the prize, you had better watch out, because you will feel her teeth!

Meticulous in nature, this green likes to have her routine. She likes to have her wallow just like so; she likes her oil to be applied approximately four and a half minutes after she has stepped out of the water; and she wants only the freshest cuts of meat. She is a very high maintenance green, and hates to have her routine disturbed; that said, as she grows, that meticulous nature means she will ensure her rider and wingmates are in top form for Threadfall. Her straps will always be buckled just so, their gear will always be in the right place, and she will know exactly how best how to attack (or defend) against particular Threadfall maneuvers. She is not a green who will go out of her way to break order and takes commands (during Threadfall and only during Threadfall) quite well.

Vivacious in nature, Canicheth is spirited, and is always a lively creature. There is nothing subdued about this green--no, she packs a punch no matter where she goes. She's the sort of dragon who knows how to work a room, and she will charm her way into the limelight before those around her even know what's happening. As far as this green is concerned, the world should revolve around her, and Faranth help anyone who doesn't agree with her.

Though she is friendly and seemingly fearless, Canicheth is very self-centered, vain, and demanding. They are, perhaps, her worst qualities. When she talks, she'll likely talk about herself and the wonderful things she's done. When she charms her way into the limelight, you can bet you'll hear all about Canicheth. You may have problems, but darling, you can't possibly have as bad a day as she has! Her rider will need to try to keep her green in line so she doesn't alienate all her friends.

When she doesn't get her way, Faranth help you, as you might well feel her wrath. This green is very demanding and doesn't like her time wasted. Either you are useful to her, or you are not; she is a very dominant personality, and she will have no trouble bossing others around. When she wants something, she will get it; when she wants someone to do something, she will push, bully, and harass until it's done. All the world is her oyster, and Canicheth knows she was hatched to be the star.

Positive Traits: Confident, Vivacious, Meticulous
Negative Traits: Vain, Demanding, Self-Centered

Adult Size: 25'
Physical Attributes: Canicheth is a solid sized green, but with small bones and a delicate structure. She has petite wrists and ankles, and just as small feet. Her tail and neck are tapered, giving her a very stretched out appearance. She is by no means ugly, though, and moves with a natural grace that draws the eye. She is just as lovely while on wing, and is known for her smooth flight.

Additional Notes: Canicheth will have flights frequently. When she rises, she expects ALL the boys to chase her, and will be furious if a favored male is not among the troupe. She has no problem being a heart-breaker, and expects the best of the best. If you're not fawning over her, you will hear about it.

She also tends to loathe golds. She tolerates her mother, as she insists she got Fianth's beauty, but other golds are looked upon as threats. She does not believe she should have been born a queen, but oh, does she try to outshine them.

Theme Song: Perfect Isn't Easy Cover by Elsie Lovelock
Egg: A large pale blue egg in the back of the clutch, with white streaks -- one in the shape of a heart. It demands your attention!

Why Me? Was there ever any doubt who the most perfect match happened to be? Mimusa isn't just some girl--she is a woman, and a woman of class. She is beautiful, she is confident, and she knows what she wants out of life. As far as Canicheth is concerned, there is no one in the Weyr who comes close to Mimusa--not in cleverness nor beauty. This green is high maintenance, and she wants someone who will understand her needs and desires, not simply humor her. Surely, Mimusa understands what it's like to be a star among the rabble. Like rider like dragon, there is no doubt these two will have the best of everything.

There is hope that Mimusa's more courteous nature and propriety will help tone down Canicheth's uglier moments. The green dragon's bossy and sometimes bullying nature will hopefully be tampered down by Mimusa's charm. Perhaps the Lady Grey will be able to turn this little green into a Lady Green! Not, of course, that Canicheth would ever admit she needed advice...but Mimusa will be her confident, her soulmate. On the flipside, Canicheth is not a flighty creature, and she is dutiful. Where Lady Grey struggles to commit or form close attachments, she is now very well stuck at High Reaches Weyr--at least for the first five Turns. She is a green who likes her routine, and isn't necessarily going to want to pack up and leave. Additionally, everything Lady Grey knows is now shared with Canicheth.

Ultimately, the two will make a lovely addition to any Wing that taps them. Though they might well be a handful, or even a distraction, they will serve the Weyr well...possibly better than any realize if Zheria and Ink have their way.

Green Kaymahath

Origin of Name: Given Tarzan was based in the jungles of Africa, Kaymahath has a name inspired by such a location. The Somali word for jungle is kaymaha, which is where this green takes her name.

Inspiration: You'll Be In My Heart - Tarzan

You'll Be in My Heart" is a song by Phil Collins, from the 1999 Disney animated feature Tarzan. It appeared on Tarzan: An Original Walt Disney Records Soundtrack as well as various other Disney compilations. A version of the single performed by Glenn Close also appears on the soundtrack.

Soon after the song was released, it was already "being touted as an Oscar contender". The song went on to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

Personality: Kaymahath is a green that was born to be wild and free. She is perhaps the wildest dragon in the clutch, but not in the sense of being hyperactive; she's simply a dragon who knows that she IS a dragon, and has no illusions about what that means. She often acts more bestial than proper; she tends to shy away from contact with other people, and certainly has no interest in talking to any person besides her rider. When it comes to other dragons, Kaymahath is more inclined to speak to them, but she tends to do so in short, clipped phrases, grunts, or otherwise just listen. It's not that she isn't keenly intelligent or aware; she just has no real interest in politics, or gossip that much of the Weyr is keen on.

No, Kaymahath would prefer to be out in the mountains, stalking and hunting prey; she would prefer to be up in the air, flying fast and free with her rider, twirling and diving and using her wings for what they were made; she would rather be flaming down Thread in a glorious battle, defeating the Enemy that she was hatched to fight. Kayamahath is a dragon that lives more off instinct than some of her softer clutch sibs, and prefers to be wild, and a bit aloof.

This allows the green to be quite independent. She isn't the sort who needs to be coddled; isn't the sort who doesn't know how to take care of herself or handle problems her own way. She prefers to think independently and has no trouble being alone, or taking care of herself or rider when the going gets tough. She isn't the sort of green who needs a male to coo over or be cossetted by; in fact, Kaymahath is more the sort of green who tends to strut and walk around like she's the biggest dragon in the Weyr.

She might be a green, but there is no doubting her fierceness. She isn't the sort to shy away from snapping and snarling; she isn't the sort of dragon who is afraid of anything. She is strong-willed, and unfortunately, along with her independence, Kaymahath can be known to be disobedient. She will break rules if she thinks them silly; she will not hesitate to talk back to the Weyrlingmaster or even the Weyrwoman. And unless a gold is commanding her to do something, she will never follow orders blindly. If she doesn't like how something is going, she'll carve her own path with her claws and teeth. Honestly, her rider is the only one she'll listen to without hesitation, and even then, if she thinks her rider is being stupid she might put up at least a bit of a fight, or test them on their boundaries.

Ah, but Kaymahath is still a dragon, and for all her independence and bestial nature she does have loyalty. She is loyal to the Weyr, as that is a dragon's instinct to live with others and in a fair. She has a strong desire to protect, particularly those that are in need, or those who are distressed. Babies, or frail souls will always draw out a more loving side of Kaymahath. She might not talk to them, but she will coddle those in need, and ensure that they are not harmed or threatened--and just let someone try!

Kaymahath also has some very big hearts. Her rider will know this immediately upon Impression, but others might not see it right away. Honestly, those who worm their way past her barriers will find that this green loves unconditionally. Those that are hers are HERS and she will fight for them with every inch of her; those she comes to truly care about, those she comes to humor and who are able to worm their way into her inner circle will know love is limitless. Color, size, age, quirks, when Kaymahath loves she loves deeply. Orphans and small, defenseless creatures will always get her heart to open up; she will adopt them, fuss over them, and be a source of strength where they have none.

Positive Traits: Independent, Protective, Loving
Negative Traits: Disobedient, Feral, Fierce

Adult Size: 28'
Physical Attributes: Kaymahath is large and muscular. She is big, she is heavy, and isn't afraid to get into a fight. She knows how to take a hit, and will have more stamina than some of her fellow greens; unfortunately, she's less dexterous while in the air and her agility suffers due to her bulk.

Additional Notes: Kaymahath might be aloof but she isn't heartless. She loves deeply, and this includes those who wind up catching her in Flights. While she's certainly not romantic, Kaymahath has a soft spot for smaller greens. She's definitely into the ladies, though it is her smaller greens that she prefers, or even smaller female whites. Damsels in distress are her preference, and she has no problem whisking them away or off their feet when she finds them, to quietly dote, and let them see the warmth within her hearts.

Theme Song: You'll Be In My Heart by Celtic Woman
Egg: A large grey egg, with a few darker grey markings. Those who draw near will feel a sense of curiosity about it.

Why Me? Rokar needs Kaymahath as much as she needs him. Like rider like dragon, this is a match of likes and compliments. To start, the pair of them are kindred spirits. She knows that Rokar won't mind that she tends to be more aloof, and this green will have no problem stealing him away so the two of them can enjoy one another's quiet council. Where she isn't known to speak much to others, she will speak freely with Rokar--and given Rokar needn't use his voice around her, he can talk to Kaymahath as freely as he wishes. He need never fear loneliness, or being picked on for this green will be his ally and protector. Anyone tries to mess with him, and they will find her teeth. She will hide him under his wing, and ensure nobody ever harms him again.

While this green is not often a chattery creature, when Rokar needs someone to be his voice, she will speak for him. Of course, he cannot use her as a crutch--nor will the Weyrlingmaster (or future Wingleader's) allow it. But from time to time, if words escape him, or if he simply can't... She will. This may put her outside her comfort zone, but it also might help draw her out of her shell. Force her to be just a little more civilized and pushed into a need to interact with others, for her riders sake. On the flipside, being a dragonrider will force Rokar to be less aloof and prickly. He will have no choice but to act like a High Reaches rider, and will be forced to interact with not just his fellow wingmates, but people in Holdfolk and Hallfolk alike. He is now a dragonrider, and will be expected to act the part.

Additionally, where Rokar has a soft spot for animals and those smaller creatures that need some tender care, you can bet Kaymahath will be right there with him. She is a sweet green beneath her wild heart, and she will care and nurture those who need her. She will also care and nurture Rokar, who needs more love and tenderness in his life. While she might look fierce and aloof to others, to Rokar, her hearts are now his.

Kaymahath and Rokar will make excellent teammates. They will be hardworking and steadfast. She will enjoy flying solo with him when they are able, but will ensure they protect their home and their Weyr with everything they've got. Rokar is strong enough to keep this green in line, should he wish to, and their mutual independence works well together. He is Hers, and together, she will take him to new heights.

Green Zezollath
Written by Uta

Origin of Name: Thie green dragon is based off one of the many versions of Cinderella. In this case, the name is derived from the posthumous 1634 edition of Il Pentamerone in which is found Giambattista Basile's La Gatta Cenerentola. In this version of Cinderella, her given name is Zezolla, which is stripped from her when she's condemned to the kitchens to work.

Inspiration: "So This is Love" is the romantic song featured in Cinderella. It was written by Mack David, Jerry Livingston, and Al Hoffman and was sung by Cinderella (Ilene Woods) and Prince Charming (Mike Douglas) as they danced at the ball.

This is the first duet sung by a Disney Princess and Prince in their films. The original concept for this song and a deleted song, "Dancing on a Cloud" was for Cinderella and Prince Charming to, seemingly, be dancing in the clouds, lost in each others eyes. This was changed to the current concept, since it added to the realism.

Personality: Zezollath is a green who knows exactly where her place in the world is...and she accepts such a place quietly and without complaint. She knows she is just a green, but she also knows there is much more to her than the Weyr might see. She is a green who is incredibly industrious and hard working; when she's given a task, she will complete it, and she will complete it well. She isn't afraid to get her hands dirty, and knows that she has much to prove to the world. She may be green, but she is strong, she is reliable, and she is unafraid!

Well. At least, she tries to be.

Another source of pride with Zezollath is how supportive she can be. She is the sort of green who will not hesitate to be there for her clutchsibs, or her rider, during their times of need. When they are in pain, Zezollath will be at their sides; when they need someone to cry to, or fall upon in their most desperate hour, this green will have nothing but open wings and love to pour upon them. This also feeds into her work effort; as a wingrider, Zezollath will make a name for herself by being there, and not letting her wingmates or Wingleaders down.

Most of all, Zezollath is a green who has always been a lover of love, in all its shapes and forms. She loves her clutch-siblings, she loves her parents, she loves her Weyr, and above all else, she loves her rider. Like mother like daughter, Zezollath has nothing but love to give and she does so freely. Love, to her, is something that shouldn't be hidden or kept secret. Love, to her, is the most important trait she could give, and ever be given in return. Thankfully, this little green has love to give in droves, and she is not at all shy about showing it, especially to her beloved rider. Nobody will ever top her view of them!

Ah, but this little green does have her flaws. In her pursuit of showing the world how worthy of love she is, Zezollath is known to be self-sacrificing. Sometimes her desire to support becomes problematic and she spreads herself too thin; sometimes, she pushes herself beyond what she should have and winds up hurting herself in the process. She is a dragon who doesn't always know how to say no, or at least, would willingly sacrifice herself than harm someone else. No matter how hurt she might be, or how difficult the task might be, this green would rather suffer silently then someone else be unhappy.

Furthermore, she's known to be a bit clingy. She doesn't like to be alone, and will find it difficult when her rider is away. Being left alone is a surefire way to distress the poor green; while she won't necessarily say anything, she will tend to pine and mourn while Theirs is away or distant. This poor green just cant help it. A part of her just wants to be needed.

Lastly, and perhaps most secret of all, is how badly Zezollath loves extravagance. When she dreams, she dreams big and boldly; she wants the biggest, most handsome bronze to be Hers. She wants the fattest and most tender herdbeast. She wants her oil to be scented with perfumes, or for the Wingleaders to give her the approval and praise she knows she and Hers are worth. She wants her mother's attention and favored love. This green loves decadence, but knows she is just a green, and possibly unworthy of such things. So she tucks her desire for such things away, and tries hard to keep it a secret. She tries so hard to be humble, but another part of her just wants to have the cream instead of milk.

Positive Traits: Loving, Supportive, Industrious
Negative Traits: Clingy, Self-Sacrificing, Extravagant

Adult Size: 18'
Physical Attributes: On the small side for a green, Zezollath is a beauty. She has perfect proportions, and is elegance incarnate. She is light on her feet, but her hard working nature means she has a surprising amount of stamina and endurance. She is not a weak green, despite her small side; but her rider had best ensure she doesn't push herself.

Additional Notes: Zezollath will likely find her heart's broken frequently as she ages. She can't help but have a taste for dragon's who aren't good for her, but she also loves those who give her even an ounce of hope and kindness.

Theme Song: So This Is Love by Voyage Entertainment

Egg: Mystery Egg One -- Red & Green Egg

Why Me? For Zezollath how could there be any other? Falienn and she are the perfect match, and she wants him to know that he will never need to search for love or acceptance again. This green will give him all her hearts, fully, and she will love him unconditionally. He is perfection incarnate, and his dreams will become her dreams. He need not fear hard work, because this green will have no trouble throwing herself into whatever task needs to be done. She will break herself before she has her rider break a sweat, provided Falienn allows her to; with luck, her hard work will help encourage Falienn, especially with Zezollath believing in him. There is nothing he can't do, and nothing she wouldn't try to get him.

Zezollath needs Falienn in her life. She thinks he hung the moon, but also accepts his flaws without judgment; she loves him unconditionally, and would never harm him. She will give his life the direction he's lacked for so long; whether or not his father approved, Zezollath approves, and that's all he really needs. Though she knows she is but a green, she hopes he will love her as she loves him. She wants so badly to be someone, and Falienn's usual confidence and swagger call to her like the moth does flame. Ah, but she also knows how much love Falienn is capable of; he is wonderful, he is beautiful, and he is Hers.

Green Moirath
Written by faesinger
Colored by ShinosBee

User Image

Origin of Name: Moira are the greek Fates who control the Thread of Fate. Gods cannot alter that which is ordained by the Fates. Fairy Godmothers are often the deciders of fates.

Inspiration: Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo is sung by the Fairy Godmother who helps Cinderella. The song is mostly nonsensical and yet able to accomplish great acts. Cinderella’s fate is changed in those odd phrases.

The original animated Cinderella left out some of the lines of the song: "If your mind is in a dither, and your heart is in a haze, I'll haze your dither, and dither your haze, with a magic phrase” and "if you're chased around by trouble, and followed by a jinx, I'll jinx your trouble, and trouble your jinx, in less than forty winks."

Personality: Why hello there! You seem very blue, but you are not a dragon, so it might be best to not stay that way. How can Moirath help? Moirath is always ready to help someone in need but be careful for it might not be the help you want. She just wants to make sure your dreams come true.

Her help comes in whatever form she decides is best and while she is clever she doesn’t always pay attention until the end. Actually, even if you don’t want her help, you will get it. Might be better to not argue, and definitely better to not interrupt. Interruptions can derail her and then where will your help be? She might just do more harm than good.

She is rather clever and her ideas usually get the job done even when they seem to make no sense. Have some fun while your at it, Moirath says. All these dour stiff souls need a little help finding the joy inside them. Moirath is willing to lend you some of hers while she helps find yours.

Distractible is a nice way of putting Moirath. Her rider will need to often guide her back to the course at hand. Her mind is also often going faster than her speech or actions and things will get lost along the way. Moirath will rely on her rider to help fill in the gaps because she is not going back for those lost bits.

Positive Traits: Helpful, clever, joyful
Negative Traits: Busybody, nonsensical, distractible

Adult Size: 28
Physical Attributes: Moirath is a long thin green. She looks almost as if someone has stretched her lengthwise.

Additional Notes: Moirath doesn’t walk, she bounces. She has a obsession with glittery items and tries to decorate everything.

Theme Song: Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo ( The Magic Song )
Egg: Mystery Egg 9

Why Me? Now here is someone that Moirath can have some fun with. Can you just imagine the things that they will come up with together? Think of all the people they can help! All the lives they can change! Veltanna has the energy to keep up with Moriath and the strong will to keep Moirath on track. Moriath can channel that puckish nature of Veltanna’s into a more useful vein and together they can make all the dreams come true.
