They were doing so well. For an instant, they let themselves relax, even feel a bit overconfident. A second cluster caught a wind current, shifting upwards in the air, towards Cyndreth. Just before they could pop between, Cyndreth's tail got grazed, but they emerged ahead of the thread. K'srin knew his dragon was fine, but he scowled anyways, at the first real damage his dragon had taken. Still...they were doing well. It was but a scratch, really.

Silviu and blue Aramath (First Wave, 5/5)

Whereas Aramath had completely lost his focus, Silviu's focus had become sharp, and furiously so. The blue was all but useless for flaming after that stupid mistake, and he was considering requesting a break for the poor beast when there was yet another interruption. That blasted wind somehow sent thread at them from below.
As if gathering up Aramath into his arms, Silviu gathered him up through their mental bond, in the same instant simultaneously giving a firm order and gently promising quiet and safety on the other side of between. Aramath winked out and reappeared over the bowl, letting out a long groan of stress and fear before they went in to land.

Loteth, being a quick thinker, blinked out then back in, roaring in triumph as he destroyed half of the clump that almost did for him and Nyssa. The feeling of smugness kept to himself as he kept on flaming. Nyssa just reacting automatically to threadfall.
Loteth was feeling super happy, boosted by flaming the clump safely when it could have been dissastrous

Loteth was flaming hard, but his wings were tiring a little in the wind, but he managed to glide a little at a break, both dragon and rider used the chance to breathe and just take a second to calm before they continued to fight the dreaded thread

5/5 The breather they had gotten seemed short lived as the wind picked up again, he was struggling to keep track of thread around him and despite Nyssa trying to help, Loteth ended up getting mildly scored on the shoulder. He yelped and betweened quickly, re-emerging a second later.

Their quick thinking had protected a wingmate, but Onyx and Miehrath were hardly out of the forest. Miehrath roared as he flamed a clump of thread, scorching a good part of the cloud into ashes. The bit that was farther, too far for his flame to reach, suddenly flew back at them, with a speed that surprised the blue and his rider. There was no other option; a hop between, reappearing above the clump, and they were safe. Down the thread fell, but Onyx was confident in the wings below.

The wind is getting pretty bad. You struggle through, but wind up having to be extra alert for the windblown Thread! This is not a good situation to be in! Blue Miehrath struggled against the turbulent winds, but that was hardly the most dangerous part of it. It wasn't being thrown into thread that he had to worry about--but rather, thread being thrown into him. Miehrath carefully avoided the clouds of blown thread, grateful for his smaller color.

Flaming down Thread, you find yourself getting blown right into the cloud of ash! It stings and burns, but you're pretty sure no Thread was alive in the cloud. [If a green, or blue take Moderate Damage -5HP but gain +2 Pain Resistance.] [If a brown or bronze, take Minor Damage -2 Damage but gain +1 Pain Resistance.]
Well, apparently Miehrath did have to worry about being thrown into thread. Or, luckily, just ash, but still. An errant gust shoved the blue, who was now a little less grateful for his size, into a cloud of burning ash. Onyx coughed as they emerged, but both tried their best to shrug off the pain. They wouldn't need any medical attention, not yet, but shards, that stung.

As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formaiton! If less than 22 feet, you get blown out of formation, but are agile enough to avoid getting hit with Thread. Hurry now -- better make it back before your Wingleader scolds you! If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up pulling a wing muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch, does that not burn!? Moderate Damage -8 HP
Shards, what was with this wind? It blew Miehrath out of formation, not quite into thread, due this quick maneuvering, but still...he pulled a wing, feeling a bit sore. Still, he could continue.

Adi and Blue Mazamath (First Wave) 1/5
Adi absolutely hated this - much as she loved being back in a Weyr and surrounded by people, and that Mazamath was so happy to be in the company of other dragons and doing what he was meant to do, it was sharding terrifying. She was practically allergic to danger and pain...and yet, this needed to be done, to spare other people danger and pain, and she had finally accepted that. But still...it was hard, every single time, in spite of their training and the experience they were slowly accruing. Mazamath was a natural, but Adi had a long way to go, and relied on her calm and steady blue to reassure and get her through.
Always collected and with impeccable instincts, he had an eye well-suited to keeping them out of trouble - and occasionally others as well. Soon after taking to the air, he glimpsed a wingmate in trouble, and they blinked skillfully between to flame down the threat, and were back in formation in no time at all.
