Hrimnith wouldn't have been inclined to pull back on his own if Karinne hadn't grabbed the mental reigns on the blue and yanked so hard his head actually moved from her mental force alone. Perhaps if his mouth hadn't hurt he would have been more obliging, learning nothing from the call of concern from their wingmate as they flamed the clump they'd been chasing down.

The wind continued to be a problem as the blue did his best. The ache in his wing wasn't getting any better, and every time the blue tried to readjust his position, or fight against one gust, another one would follow. In addition to weaving out of the way of Thread, and flaming down what he could, the poor blue eventually found himself completely spent.

Another sudden gust, and this time they were blown right out of position and into a patch of thread. The blue squealed in surprise, but quickly threw himself Between to dull the pain. As soon as they were back in the fight, J'lar tried to look back to see what had happened. Green ichor was pooling up against the blue's hip, but there was no sign of silver. "You still good?" he asked, wishing he could better ease the exhaustion that had gripped Loreleth.

I'm sorry, Mine. The winds are winning. It was a soft confession, and the guilt J'lar tasted almost broke his heart. But he had to keep Loreleth on task, had to keep the blue spirited.

Nonsense. Any dragon'd be tired after those gusts. Come on now. Let's go get that clump coming down... You still got wings, you still got me, we're still in this fight together. Maybe he'd been around E'mel too much, or maybe he just wanted Loreleth to feel good; regardless, he would encourage his blue as long as it took if he must.



Round 1, Roll 1If you are a green, or blue smaller than 30' you're easily able twist and wheel out of the way of the thick clumps. Instead, you're able to flame down a patch of Thread threatening your wingmates, and what a burst of flame it is! Quote a Wingmate who took Thread Damage and nullify it for this Round! +2 Flame Length

Roll 2: You try to flame down some Thread, but your flame comes up short. Whoops! Hopefully your Wingleader didn't see that. Nothing to be done about it now except eat some more firestone, and try to catch the next clump!

Roll 3: As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation! If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up straining a muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP

Roll 4: Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, but your dragon is just too tired to care. The wind is too much! Moderate Damage -5HP Your dragon also now suffers Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect, Guilt, Bitten Tongue, etc.) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.)

Karinne had to tug on the blue again when he seemed to repeat his error, holding him fiercely and knowing he would not be able to escape from her firm hold.

You need to get out of your head. If you fly like a fool we both die. That's enough she chastized. They'd not gotten hurt yet, but Karinne had little tolerance for the blue's nonsense.

They snapped back into formation fro the weyrbowl, and back into the high winds of the high altitudes. This time they were not going to be tossed about like a toy, however! The blue's eyes whirled with a hint of red as he strained and drove back against the gust, retaining his position through a pure force of will, ready to return to fighting, not failing.

Hrimnith would have fought more with Karinne as she laid out the law for him - until the wind came, sending blue and rider right out of formation no matter how Hrimnith flapped against it. Truly, he should have let it go and saved his strength to regain his position when it let him go.

Instead, he was now tired and there was nothing he really felt up to do doing as the muscles in his wings ached.

Despite his exhaustion, Hrimnith was a bit more compliant to flame what he was pointed at when Karinne pointed at it. He was also too tired to care when he flew right through the ashes, making his rider cough and frown.

The wind was proving to be a challenge, especially with Tiernoth's light frame. Try as she might, the wind was still stronger than her wings -- blasting the pair back and into a clump of thread. It bit and dug into both rider and dragon, eating at spots of Tiernoth's wingsail and into Zi'aso's leg.

With a grinding of her teeth, they snapped Between, reappearing back in formation.

Are you okay? Ow... Yes, I'm fine..

The wind is strong and trying hard to buffet you. If a green or blue you find yourself struggling against the wind. The wind is powerful this high up, and you have to struggle to keep in your airspace. Unfortunately, a strong gust blows through, and you find yourself blown right into a clump of Thread! Moderate Damage -4 HP

More centered, Tiernoth radiated love and reassurance onto her rider's nested woes. They would be alright, let her be the one to shoulder the worry this day. Yet the thick thread was no match to a blast of her fire, and Tiernoth turned to take another mouthful with quiet glee.

You're doing spectacular, love! Hurt and woes aside, he tried to shake away the worry like a bad headache. This was no place to be deep in his thoughts, and Pern-- Tiernoth needed him! They could do this!

The two continued to fight, though the wind truly was their enemy. J'lar worried about Loreleth's sore wing, but the blue was certain he was fine, just fine. If it got much worse, he'd take them back to the Bowl to get looked at but for now... For now they'd carry on.

All was quiet... Perhaps too quiet. But for now the pair readjusted themselves -- there was still much more Fall left to go.

Nothing to flame quite yet, which is almost a miracle in this sort of Threadfall. Still, you're able to relax a moment, look around, and take note of your airspace. All's well... for now.

Yet in their idleness, a sharp gust of wind buffets the lithe dragon around once more. Tiernoth struggles, but the twinge in her left shoulder is enough to make her wince.

Are you-- I'm fine. She's quick to assure, wanting to forget the injury. Surely there were more dragons in dire shape than her. A twinge was nothing.

As you fight against a strong gust of wind, you feel something pull! Uh-oh. There's a pain in your wing muscle that hadn't been there before. This isn't good, especially this high up! Still, your dragon fights on. [1/3]

Jakoli was an idiot, but his energy was good to have during Threadfall, as was his ability to switch focus on a moment's notice. He spotted a stray thread very close, and Auroth broke off mid-flame to change targets, to great success.
