Kurama had remained silent mostly besides his gruff and sharp exhale. It was clear he was not overly concerned with the boy offering a real threat to anyone present at the time. Masato's eyes remained vigilant as his daughter attempted to play while the girl who asked for his assistance approached him openly. He raised an eyebrow as he examined the boy. " Aye, boy." he said just as his daughter would take offense to him brushing her off. He would move rapidly between the two after speaking to grab his attention, intercepting the snow ball. As he squatted down to eye level with his daughter with a rather disgruntled look on his face, he held up the snowball in his right hand as it seemed to rest on his finger tips. " No." he said simply, preforming a flick of his wrist which would send the snowball flying back and thwaking' her between the eyes if she didn't avoid it. " Thalia. Why don't you go play with the miss here? " Masato offered, gesturing to the genin and her wolf. " I have to talk with Granny Hatake's grand-kid." His eyes shifted toward the boy who was clearly disgruntled with his own ability. " C'mon, boy. Follow me." Masato said, wasting no time. He was sure that the young Himawari would second guess her decision to recruit Masato's assistant as his rather brutish nature would shine through in his tone. It was clear Masato wanted to test the boy and wasn't willing to do it in the middle of the village. He would prod him into following him, but their destination would be the Takijinsei Falls that rose over everything in the village, except for his personal home on the Warrior's Summit of course. This was his preferred training location. If the boy was worth his salt and if he was interested in what Masato had to say he would want to seek out the challenge and follow.

Hima smile doesn't waver as Theodred spat back, explaining that his dad and her mom was way ahead of them. Yet, her smile did change, to more soft and a bit sad, "Of course they were ahead of us Theodred," she was the only one that actually calls him Theodred, "Theo and mom was older. They had years to train. We've been training for as long as we remembered, I promise you, we will be at their level if not stronger at their age." Hima explained softly. It seemed Thalia did not take it well and was aiming to get the snowball to Theo, before Hima and Varg could react, the man reacted towards his daughter, the snowball now aiming his own daughter's face. Varg aimed and ate up the snow before it hit Thalia, "Mhmmm! I love snow!" he commented. Hima knew what he was doing. He was entered into her life when she was 10 and Theo was five after all. A frown formed on her face when the man had even ordered his own daughter and Hima to go play. Hima didn't want to play. She wanted to train too. Decided to be sneaky, she smirked at Thalia as she squatted down to be at her level, talked low enough that only Thalia and Varg can hear her, "Psst. What do you say, do you want to ride Varg and follow them when they leave?" She questioned. No way she was going to leave the man alone with Theodred. Theo needed help yes but does she and she swore to her mother she would do all she can to protect Theo. They could stay behind for a bit, Varg's nose would lead them to where they went.

Theodred would hear the small girl yell back at him and start to turn to respond when he saw the older man that had showed up earlier appear in a flash between them, catching the snowball and flicking it back at the small girl. Theo would scoff slightly and smirk as Varg caught and ate the snowball, thinking the big wolf shouldโve let it hit the girl. He then heard the man mentioning talking to โGranny Hatakeโs grandkidโ could this guy have known his dad? Or more surprising his grandparents...? As much as the young chuunin wanted to be left alone, he couldnโt help but be somewhat curious. When the man gruffly told him to follow, Theoโs expression wouldnโt change, it rarely did anyway, but he would turn and walk with the man wherever he was planning on going.

Amidst the merriment of children playing there came a gentle chirping, as soft as the morning sunrise. Althoguh not loud by any means it was bit out of the ordinary. How often does one find a little bird creature running about? Perhaps one might yet be able to pick it out amongst the commotion?
The small girl sat there with a look of surprise upon her face for moments after Masato left, pieces of snow melting slightly and rolling down her cheeks. After moments of stunned silence, Thalia's lip slowly began to protrude outwards-- her daddy had thrown a snowball in her face! He was supposed to take her side! Her eyes glimmered with the beginnings of tears before she suddenly burst in to them, loud sobs filling the room and probably hurting Varg's ears... and then she was gone. The small frame of the little girl was disappearing around the corner outside the door. She ran off to her place; it was a small corner of the outside training area of the academy, in a corner hidden by trees and bushes. Thalia often came here when she was looking to cool down or get away from the judging eyes of other academy students; she was so young and often subjected to bullying because of her small stature and family history. Her father was the brother of a man who tried to destroy the shinobi world and her mother was bloodlineless. It was under her sobs that she heard a soft chirping.
Sniffling and wiping away tears, she followed the sound, trying to find it's source.

More than likely due to the small creature not yet having developed the instincts to hide itself from humans yet, the owl cub was remarkably easy to track. Hearing the little pitter patter footsteps of Thalia the bird came tumbling out of the brushes to perform it's own investigation. "Chrrrrrp!" It would exclaim excitedly, raising it's arms in a desire to be picked up. Was this the beginning of a new lasting friendship? One would hope so because now whether Thalia liked it or not this little owl cub had imprinted on her. Tiny clawed feet still not fully developed left the owl falling just shy of the young girl's feet, little tears in it's eyes.

tabStepping into the academy halls Lahlil made certain that her footsteps weren't too quick so as to lose her newly made ward. The entire walk here Lahlil's mind was a buzz with all sorts of fun things her and her student could do together! She had never realized just how exciting being a teacher could be. I suppose I should check her chakra nature first then! That's what responsible adults do.. then I have set her torwards learning a few jutsu and THEN take her out for ice cream! Giddily clapping her hands together the Kage spun around on her heel and pulled a thin eggshell white piece of paper from her back pocket. She had found that having some on hand had been useful for her fuunin writing and as such always carried it around. "Okay! Now that we're here I have a little pop quiz for you. Following behind Lahil, Ishiba felt somewhat like a duckling. A quiet giggle later, Lahil had stopped; and Ishiba bumped into her slightly. "S-sorry..." She quickly mumbled. Ishiba looked at Lahil, confused for a moment as to what she was refering to. Elemental natures...? Oh! I know what those are! She thought to herself. "I-if I r-remember right, t-the five e-elements are F-fire, Water, W-wind, Earth, and L-lightning." Ishiba nervously stammered out. "A-as for m-mine...? I t-think my m-mother said i-it was W-water..." She said, still somewhat nervous. Though she felt confident in her knowledge of her first element, she wasn't so sure about her second. Her mother was either never really able, or never really cared, to help Ishiba determine her second element.
Ishiba is a small young girl, with a suprisingly lithe frame. Her hair is raven black, and reaches past her shoulders, in a completely straight dignified manner. Her eyes are emerald green, and shine with hope. Her voice is soft and small, but still somehow carries rather well.

Derane entered the academy ready to get his learning on. Having only just realized that he carried the Hyuuga sight with him left the genin at a bit of a disadvantage. He could have been spending this time learning thus far but now he had to start from scratch. No sense in crying over spilled milk he supposed. [ 1 / 5 ] Studying over the scroll that he had already secured from the scroll base Derane set his mind first torwards mastering the form first. Eyes turning a blood red that overtook her pupils, Derane activated his byakuguan. His sight shifting into that of the bloodlines chakra sensing capabilities. It made him feel like some kind of predator searching for a prey. [ 2 / 5 ] Once he eyes were activated Derane sent off into searching in the direction of what looked to be another pair of genin close by. Their bright chakra networked glowed incandescent to him, much like the sun during midday. Squinting further it was possible for him to make out the individual points of contact of what could only be the person's 'gates'. [ 3 / 5 ]
Memorizing the layout in his mind Derane retreated least someone notice just how creepy he was being. He had what he came for, which was a map of the body's chakra points. Slinking back to his training dummy Derane placed it over the wooden frame and practiced his newly learned taijutsu on it. [ 4 / 5 ] His movements were sluggish at first as they were only meant to get the rhythm right and not to have power behind them. Once done so the genin put chakra into what was originally a simple muscle movement in order increase it's power with chakra. [ 5 / 5 ]
Next up was one of the basic stances on the hyuuga art that was meant to bring a defensive nature to ones techniques. It was an interesting take on fighting and one that Derane had never considered before. Allowing your opponent to strike and then dodging that strike just seemed so reactionary while he himself preferred to strike out with quick jabs and strikes. Moving through the fluid motions over and over Derane felt his body become lighter. [ Stage One Complete]
Without breaking this fluid motion Derane funneled chakra into his arms while preforming a spinning dance maneuver. It must have looked foolish to someone who didn't understand his technique but the adrenaline had taken over his body as his mind improvised off of memory the movements from the scroll until he had a completed form of attack with enough chakra to paralyze a grown adult. While still in his spin motion Derane continued his dance with a torrent of clear chakra that launched off in every direction. Each of these waves expelled themselves from his body though but dispersed harmlessly before distributing the surrounding environment. Control was always his strong suit whether it was with a technique he had practiced with a thousand times or with learning a brand new one. [ Hakke Sanjลซni Shล [ Eight Trigrams: Thirty-Two Palms ]ย + Trigram Stance ] ]
Finished with the first half of his studies Derane settled himself into a nearby chair. Both as a breather and as a way to train his mind. Retrieving a dust red scroll from the learning section Derane carefully unwrapped it's contents. He had known for quite sometime of his bloody lineage, it was what truly set him apart in his mind. Far more than any Frankenstein-equse body. The power to consume the blood of others and survive solely off of it. [ 1 / 5 ] Wholly unnatural, it wasn't until his time here five years ago that he even learned of the name by which to call this power. There had been so much ridicule over it. He had heard when others thought him deaf, the names they whispered under their breath. Vampire. It was a foolish notion, a childhood fairytale that Derane detested. He was no feral beast attacking citizens. Yet here he was delving deeper into the bloody arts along in some dark corner of the village as if it were to be feared. [ 2 / 5 ]
Derane shook the dark thoughts off, this was purely academic and in no way held sway over him. He was the master here and hell be damned if that was ever going to change. Reading ever onwards Derane pricked the tip of his finger to draw forth his blood. Not a serious wound by any means but enough to practice his second art form. [ 3 / 5 ] Like a thin whisper of smoke Dernae willed the blood to snake along his arm. The shapes were endless and he felt himself almost overwhelmed by the applications. Could he control the blood of others as well? That would be a test for a other day it seemed. [ 4 / 5 ] To see just how far he could test it Derane bundled the blood into a spiky ball that swung around the room with the same force as his Mizu needles had. His test was all he needed to understand just how powerful it's strengthcwas in comparison. Hmph. Light but effective. [ 5 / 5 ] [ Chi Soujuu [ Blood Manipulation ] + Akaishi [ Red Stone ] ]
After working out blood control Derane next had to figure out how to draw it out from his targets. There existed a number of ways to do this which he would learn of later, what interested him the most was of the spiritual aspect. [ 1 / 5 ] Further on down the page was there an detailed account of how one might draw the essence of one's being out if another through their black art. Unfortunately Derane lacked a subject for which to use this jutsu on meaning he would just have to make due with memorization. [ 2 / 5 ] It seemed that the basis of the jutsu operated by a force of his own chakra instilled in another through the use of a physical touch, namely his fangs. Reminded of their existence Derane forked his tongue through the extra pointy canines. [ 3 / 5 ]
Just what kind of person did exist in the past and what did they bound themselves to he wondered? Surely this altered state of being couldn't have come from a simple chakra manifestation? Does that mean he is now bound to this fact as well? So many questions, so many technicalities. [ 4 / 5 ] Flipping ahead to the higher studies Derane read of how one combined the two arts. It would take a careful hand in order to draw an amount if energy from another target given only a few seconds of time. It wouldn't be much but perhaps he could hold this energy for use in something else. [ 5 / 5 ]
With the basics out of the way Derane at last set himself torwards mastering the other blood release jutsu. The first amoung which was a simply one meant to p***k his body, easy enough to accomplish and Derane did so with minimal effort. Blood pooling from the wound the genin then used this new resource with his blood manipulation to create a hundreds more needles. [ To p***k with a needle + Array of Needles ]
With the first styles if blood manipulation down Derane set to work in the next. Breaking down the needles that he just created the boy reformed the blood into a weapon if his own design. Much of it's wicked blade might have been impractical for a normal smith but was easy for chakra to create. [ Shinku Wa [ Crimson Ring ] + Ikatsui Tsume [ Grim Claw ] + Ken no Rubi [ Ruby Weaponย ] ]
Weapon training complete Derane began to utilize a technique meant to give more form to the creation. Swinging the blade outwards a crescent shaped slashing effect. Still bleeding from his eailer effect the blade slice gained even more power before he was forced to disperse the jutsu least it collided with the wall. [ Blood Wave + Blood Wall ]
Closing up the scroll of his bloodline Derane felt that was all he could handle for today. Next on his list was the mystic art of genjutsu. Even during his academic days he had shown an usual knack genjutsu, not so much from a learning aspect but from a sort of unique flair he had for caring it simply with his presence. Of course that had it's own downside of requiring the other combatant to be seen and acknowledge him. Mostly it only limited him to using genjutsu that would be effective under such a scenario. After finishing up working on the gen that create new worlds around the target Derane found it best to read over a few centuries. Simple tools they and yet easily able to prove useful for one of the martial arts. For instance being able to co fuse the enemy with not knowing which hand to block could be very deadly when combined with his technique. [ Tree Leaf-Style Willow [ Konoha-Ryลซ Yanagiย ] Depth Distortion [ Okuyuki Katawa ] ]
And while there wasn't much use in it combat wise the idea if being able to manipulate others into thinking his way could be useful. Luckily there was such a technique in the scroll which Derane had picked up. Along with another that was meant to hide his presence from praying eyes. [ Mist Technique [ Kiri no Jutsu ] Voice of Compromise [ Jouho no Koe ] ]
Turning back to the martial arts side Derane studied under the ability to trick an enemy into thinking they had struck him with their blow, a perfect dodge if you will as it allowed him to follow up with his own attack right after. An interesting combination if he was able to combine it with mental obscuring the targets brain. Of course it could only work with a jutsu he had already seen before it would be handy to have in his pocket during certain situations. [ False Strike Technique [ Mougo Shibaku no Jutsuย ] Forgetfulness Technique [ Kenbou no Jutsu ] ]
Finally wrapping g uo his studies under the illusion side of chakra Derane read of the shuushin technique, although a modified version if it. Basically it would allow him to move himself very quickly while also hiding his body from others. The opportunity to create the perfect sneak attack. [ Flower Petal Escape [ Hanabira Esukฤpu ] ]
Moving onto ninjutsu now Derane readcuo on his water element, the substance that made up most of blood. It was a good place to start for someone like him and to be honest the more interesting of the two at least. The first stages classified basic things such as controlling water and breathing when under the surface. Easy enough. [ Mizu Soujuu [ Water Manipulation ] + Suimenka no Kisoku [ Breathing Underwater Techniqueย ] ]
After such came the next abilities, the power to co troll water to form into a suitable shield could not be passed up. It's variable rank of power made it useful for his low level status thus far and could be combined with an even better attack by using it as a starting point for other jutsu. [ Mizu Tate no Jutsu [ Water Shield Technique ] + Mizuteppou [ Water Pistol ] + Houmatsu Rappa [ Violent Bubble Wave ] ]
Moving in past wind Derane worked on his other less known element of wind. Similar to his shield of water there was a shield of wind that could be used to the same effect. Was there any way he could combine the two perhaps? A method worth looking into for the future. For now he would have to resign himself torwards the other wind ninjutsu. [ Kaze no Bouseki Tate [ Spinning Shield of Winds ] +Daitoppa [ Great Breakthrough ] + Kamaitachi [ Cutting Whirlwind ]ย ]
Finally here at last the end of his training thus far! Most of his needs had been met already although there was one ninjutsu that struck Derane initially in it's use. The power to propell oneself with wind. The prospect of flight would be an amazing asset in the battlefield even if it wasn't exactly real fighting. [ Suiyaku Kaze [ Propelling Winds ] ]

tabSuddenly bringing her hand to her mouth Lahlil let out a mock gasp at Ishiba response. She could still tell that the young girl was still feeling shy and yet at the same time there was such happiness just waiting to get out. If she had to act like a fool just to make the little girl feel better about herself then that was a good trade wasn't it? "Oh that's perfect! I can see you already know so much. I got lucky with a smart student. Plus you and I share that element so this will be even easier, but before we begin I would just like to see something really quick." Kneeling down to her level Lahlil handed the young girl the piece of parchment that she had been holding onto all this time. "Most everyone has two elemental natures inside them, so before we begin I'd like you use hold onto this paper and focus your chakra into it. I'm not sure if you've used this before but this is a special tool used to figure out just what elements you have. Lightning will crinkle, wind will split, Fire burn, Water soak, and crumble if you have earth. Since we already know you have water I'll need to focus and dig extra deep for the paper to react to your other element okay?" Having three elements herself Lahlil hoped that she would be able to share both of Ishiba's so that she could add in a little personal touch to her training, but was fully prepared in the case that she didn't as this academy held more than enough information to cover all of her bases.

There was a blur of movement through the entrance of the Academy--
To anyone who may have noticed, and was above the Academy Student level would see a small girl running as fast (or slow) as her little feet could carry her, holding her over-sized sunhat on her head, sundress flowing behind her. A sudden sharp turn and she was headed straight for the Hokage as described the massive talking tiger at the office.
"LA-HEEL!" Mariko squealed, more than likely getting the pronunciation of the village leader's name completely wrong. Skidding to a halt, she stood before Lahlil and what appeared to be another student, panting. Mariko was unable to contain her excitement about her previous encounter, and immediately began speaking without giving herself much of a chance to catch her breath.
"You... youmustbeLa-heel! The tiger! The tiger... he talked to me! He told me to find you... here! You! The teach-- Hokage! He didn't eat me... and looked really fluffy... AND HE... HE TALKED TO ME!" Between pants she cackled, cut short by a series of coughs which forced her to settle down and catch her breath. The tiny oddball sighed, looking at the other two before her, and realizing she hadn't introduced herself. "...Oh! Hi, I'm Mariko!" She spun on her tip toes, facing the two once more with her hands behind her back, sporting a bright, toothy smile.
Ishiba was pretty sure the gasp was fake, her mother did it all the time; whenever she wasn't drunk anyway. She didn't like it much when adults would overreact, but she felt fine with playing along with it this time. After Lahil handed her the parchment, and after she explained, Ishiba nodded slightly. Right. She thought to herself, I just hope this is easier then what my mother did... She shook her head slightly, as if to clear some kind of memory or thought from her mind. But as Ishiba went to focus on the paper a small girl suddenly came into view, panting and saying something about a talking tiger. Ishiba was, quite simply, alarmed at the sudden appearance of the girl; even moreso the fact that she didn't see her before she was already there. The sudden appearance completely broke any concentration Ishiba had, and she started shaking like a lamb again. "H-h-hello, I-I-I'm I-I-Ishiba..." She slowly stammered out, utterly confused. Though she hadn't noticed it yet, she had already started flowing chakra into the parchment; and while it was most certainly getting soaked, it didn't look like much else was happening. Though when she looked back to Lahil, as if about to say something, the parchment started to fall apart in clumps; almost like thick mud falling of a stick. Though it took her a second longer, she did look down at the parchment; which now felt like, and somewhat looked like, mud. Her eyes widened in astonishment, she wasn't sure how she did it; but she turned the paper into mud. Or, rather, something like mud.
Ishiba is a small young girl, with a suprisingly lithe frame. Her hair is raven black, and reaches past her shoulders; in a completely straight and dignified manner. Her eyes are emerald green, and shine with hope. Her voice is soft and small, but still somehow carries rather well.

When Varg aimed for the snowball, he missed as it hit Thalia's head. Both Hima and Varg felt a pang of sadness and anger but they kept it to themselves. Thalia started to run off as Varg's ears started to twitch, there was an owl nearby. Sounded young. He nuzzled Hima's shoulder and she heard it too but their priority was the young girl. With that, they headed after her, but a bit slower pace so they could give her time to try to calm down on her own. Varg sniffed and was able to smell something strange. Unusual. He figured it out when they had approached towards Thalia. With a soft smile, Hima squatted down, gave Thalia and the baby owl a bit of distance and not wanted to interrupt their bond, "That's amazing. Reminds me when Varg and I bonded." With a gentle smile she glanced towards Thalia. "Have you thought of a name? Sometimes names just comes to you, sometimes it needs time." With that, she waited on Thalia's response. Hima wanted to follow Theo and the man so bad, especially when she had promised her mother she would protect Theo but she knew better than to leave a young child alone. Varg sniffed the air once again and turned his head slightly towards the academy as he heard voices. It seemed some more people had appeared at the academy.

tabNot entirely sure if what she heard was her name, it at least carried with it enough similar syllables to cause Lahlil's ears to perk up in the direction of little Mariko. The bits that she could manage to gather from her hyper speech and appearance it sounded like Gado had found another student to send her way which, by an extraordinary happenstance, coincided perfectly with her training Ishiba. Getting her used to people could do wonders for her shyness afterall, or at the very least help her make at least one friend. Lahlil's lips curled into a joyful smile to welcome her new student. "Well aren't you just a little ball of energy! It's a pleasure to meet you Mariko." Extending out her hand Lahlil offered informal handshake to the girl. "Ishiba and I here were just talking about elemental chakras before I teach her. Would you like to join us? Do you already know your natures?" Even in the midst of her talking Lahlil's noticed Ishiba's paper sog into a muddy color leaving a delighted sight in Lahlil's eyes. "It looks like we already have someone with water and earth which just so happen to be two of my own! That should make teaching you much more easy since I happen to know them so well."

Mariko tilted her head in confusion, responding to the little girl's timid nature. She didn't mean to scare Ishiba... maybe next time she won't come running in like some maniac, ranting about a talking tiger. "Hello Ishiba~!" She sang, turning her attention to Lahlil, who extended a hand to the bubbly child. Two small hands grasped her own, shaking vigorously. "Yup-yup! Chakra natures...?" Mariko released Lahlil's hand, withdrawing her own behind her back in thought, letting her eyes fall onto the paper Ishiba was holding. She noticed the paper turned soggy within her grasp, before taking on a muddy color. "Oh..." Her eyes widened with pure amusement, sharply inhaling at the once normal sheet of paper transforming before her. "That's cool! I want the water nature too! I wanna see what my natures are!" After a brief display of giddiness, Mariko turned to Lahlil with big, pleading eyes. "May I get a piece of the magic paper? PLEEEEEEEEASE?" She gave Lahlil the usual bright and cheerful smile, lightly bounding off of the front of her feet, still unable to contain her excitement.
