17. Your dragon is effortlessly flaming Thread. Honestly, they almost seem to make it look easy. Both you and your dragon start to feel more confident, and even start to get a bit cocky. Low Altitude Wing was always the easiest wing to fly. Unfortunately for you....2. You successfully flame another clump, but accidentally fly into the ash cloud, leaving you with some ash burns [Minor Damage -2 HP ]

This was going to be a long, hard flight. T'sar wasn't looking forward to it, but Adarith was ready to go as ever. The duo got right to work as they appeared in the low altitude, flying only above the queens and the weyrlings. T'sar was glad they were starting here and not up at the top, but it was clear Adarith was treating it like they were up in the high altitude. He seared Thread from the sky effortlessly, burning down the silvery enemy left and right. His confidence was bruised a bit as he flew through his own ash cloud, singeing his nose and face a bit. Hmph.

7. Oh no, look out! A small clump of thread broke through the ranks, and has managed to hit your and your dragon. It is an ugly tangle, and though you blink between, it's going to hurt! [Moderate Damage -5 HP. You are now flying with a Painful status effect. This will negate your next immediate rolls XP, any save rolled, and double damage if the roll includes set damage (or has you roll for damage).

Adarith was so intent on striking down Thread that came his way that he and T'sar both missed the clump of Thread making its way towards them.

[Sym save!]

OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling! Broleith and Trissa were ready to go, they were excited about the longer fight, they weren't worried at all, and they-

Completely forgot to check their firestone bag until they were up in the air.

"Oh no," Trissa moaned as she opened the bag. There were a few chunks left from their last fight so she tossed those to Broleith, but she had to wave down to the weyrlings for a refill. That was embarrassing. Thankfully a retired rider spotted her before Broleith called out and she brought them up a fresh bag.

After getting their stone refilled, Broleith turned up the firepower. He spotted a bit of Thread that had made its way down to their level and twisted gracefully, turning on a dime to wheel around and flame it down. Trissa gave a little eep and hung on tightly with her legs, her hands still trying to secure the bag.

"You need to calm down a little, Broleith," Trissa said as they returned to formation. "We've got a long fight ahead of us, even with a break."

Aye, I suppose, he conceded with a grumble. It was hard not to go full speed right at the start, though! He wanted to come out, fire blazing and wings beating! But he did understand the value behind conserving his strength for later, so he settled into an easy glide as they flew along under the other wings.

Another bit of Thread wriggled its way before them and Broleith let loose a large plume of fire. The Thread burnt up instantly but the wind didn't dissipate the ash, leading to lightly burnt skin on both of their faces. Broleith gave a huff and Trissa wiped off her goggles as they flew on.

In all the hubbub from a moment ago something must have happened to their firestone bag, because when T'sar went to reach for it it wasn't there at all. Cursing softly, he flagged down one of the dragons flying below to have them bring up another. The toss was a bit messy but T'sar caught the bag and secured it to the saddle, making sure the knot was tight this time.

11. You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!

"Doing all right?" T'sar asked once he made sure the bag was secure. Adarith, who was flaming Thread as it came close, gave a little huff in response.

I should be asking you that, Mine. Of course I'm doing all right. T'sar rolled his eyes but gave the dark hide of Adarith's neck a rub before crouching down again, focusing on their task.

[Fatigue save!]

A clump of Thread was making its way towards them and Adarith flew towards it, ready to flame. Just before they did T'sar spotted a clump heading down much faster and directly over Adarith's wing.

"Left!" he yelped sharply, his mental picture far more informative to his dragon than his words. Adarith quickly pulled his left wing in close to his body, sending them into a steep, turning dive. They missed the Thread by inches, but once Adarith opened up his wings, he managed to flame it down. Phew!

Though it pained him to worry about Nona down below in the queen's wing, and Amra in his own wing, Amrit was needing to focus on the task at hand. This fall's winds were tricky, and as he's finding out from the hiss of pain from Chirakumath as the ash blows back at them, quick as well. He's mostly able to cover his face, though it scuffs his chin, and he's quick to give coordinates, wincing. Ouch.

Had they gone through the entire bag of firestone already? Amrit's feeding the last bit of it to Chirakumath, whose making steady work of chewing it up for the next clump that comes across his path -- but Chirakumath is quick to call for assistance.

Still a little shaken from their minor scoring, Demodeth swiftly answered Chirakumath's call, R'in tossing a bag of firestone nearly perfectly now that the wind had died down again. They ducked away and back into formation quickly after that, not wanting to end up on the painful end of someone else's flame.

Hour 1, Round 1 - Wingleader Roll #2

39
24-42. If a Wingleader, you were so focused on chewing out one of your wingriders who pulled a stupid move, that you actually miss catching a large clump of Thread that's falling right past you. A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP! If a Wingsecond you actually are on top of things today! You're here to look out for your wingmates and your Wingleader, and in this case, you manage to do both! Quote your Wingleader, fellow Wingsecond, or Wingrider and nullify any negative effects & negative HP from their most recent roll! This can include Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls!

Hattaki
Sorry Hatts! -5 HP for Onasta & Brown Jibasth!

Z'pel didn't have time for their usual angry rejoinder- one moment they were focusing on a wingmate's poor performance, the next moment their attention was diverted to Onasta and Jibasth, who suffered a scoring from their lack of flame. Shards. There was never a good time to let their guard down in Fall.
