Nisadee - she/her
Once she was well prepared - quick but efficiently - Nisadee made her way with the rest to the Sands. In the days since the Touching, she had done her best to put it out of her mind, instead of allowing her thoughts to linger on any one egg; that, she kenw well, would just be inviting disappointment. She refused to be one of those Candidates who thought an interaction with an egg to be so meaningful that the dragonet within would surely choose them., only to be wrong. Heartbroken.
The blonde stood straight wand waited, watching the eggs that had begun to move.
Uta She might just be in the vicinity of a certain someone. By sheer coincidence, of course.
Relku - he/him
It was quite a nice time of day for a Hatching, really, with no sudden awakenings, no task or meal interrupted - sure, dinner would likely be a bit late, but it would be a Feast, so who could possibly complain? Not Relku, certainly. Once washed and dressed, he took his place with the rest, doing his best to keep his excitement under wraps and at least appear outwardly calm.
Kesucianth
Once he'd made sure that His had everything she might require, Kesucianth swooped down to alight on a ledge, choosing one that was anything but a prime view; he wouldn't think to take one better, or to assume that any wished his company. He was, after all, only a blue, as well as mostly here because Elibrie had asked him to be, or else he'd have stayed put and curled himself around her. But she wanted him to watch for the both of them, and be there for Oranie and Lusialu.
As such, he sent both girls a warm, gentle wave of love and support.

T'en and Rixth
Maybe it was a little embarrassing, but Rixth was fairly certain he had flown to the sands faster as an observer than as an actual participant. He perched as close to the action as his size would allow, leaning over his chosen ledge and humming happily. T'en was watching as well, of course, but he had hidden his elated approach behind a much more suave facade, arriving a few minutes after his dragon and taking a seat in the stands with his golden flit.
t'rin and ingonth and pravdath and v'ek and nimiseth
So, these hatchlings are...
Your cousins. My brother, Iweth's.
And Mictecath's. My sister. Ingonth's snort ended in a quiet honk. Are there dragon genealogists? They must be having a fit.
Nimiseth stood up on his forelegs, jostling the older dragons as they settled against him. Oh, look! Looook! They're moving.
Down in the stands, T'rin ceased his firelizard massage, much to Pepper's dismay. The green extended her neck and prodded her owner's hand instead, though when V'ek ignored her as well, the flit disappeared with a huff.
"There." V'ek pointed. "How she's managed to look so regal in a bleached tuber sack and three strips of old hide is beyond me."
"Practice. And I'll have you know you looked pretty damn regal yourself."
"I did, didn't I."
Nikrys
She had already washed, thank you. And donned her plain white robes and arranged her hair just so. Nikrys was close to the head of the pack of candidates when they reached the sands, and her bow to the clutchparents was just as respectful as it had been at the touching. It was easy for F'dral to tell them not to be afraid, but she kind of was. It surprised her, but little of that emotion was evident on her face as she watched the eggs begin to lurch and twitch.
Bherrus
Bherrus was trying so hard. The nerves were certainly helping him to be more subdued in some ways, but he liked to think that part of his change in mood was all him. He was determined to put on a good face today, and even if he didn't find his match, he would still get to see some impressions up close. Surely. As long as he wasn't mauled right away.
He scurried onto the sands with his hands folded primly in front of him and bowed to Mictecath and Iweth with an anxious version of his usual grin. The boy went still as soon as he saw his first wiggling egg of the day, wide-eyed and waiting to see the color of the hatchling inside.

Eliaza
It was time. It was finally time! Oh, Eliaza had so learned to look forward to this day like no other. Well. Until the next one came, but that was the way it was supposed to be, wasn't it? This time, she thought, as always. Maybe this time would be *her* time! It was a hope. It was a dream!
She dressed quickly, got her hair as under control as she could, and then filed out onto the Sands with the res of the class. She bowed politely to both Mictaceth and Iweth, beaming at them both, then went to find a spot. SHe drifted toward where Jaleeri and Hunthyex stood. '
"Are you ready for this? I'm so ready!"
Eralgais
There was always a little spot of nervousness tucked in under Eralgais's ribs when a Hatching began. Not strong enough to make him shaky, like some he'd seen, and never ever enough to make him sick up like others. It was there, though, fluttering.
More, today, as he remembered how some of those eggs had responded to him. As he woundered whether they would remember him.
Not enough of a flutter to make him drag his feet when it came to getting out there, though. He held the robe up above his knees so he could move until he got onto the Sands, then let it fall with an unceremonious flop, bowed to sire and dam and went to find a place. He glanced up at the stands and ledges, once, checking in, then rubbed his hands and cracked his neck. Come what may.
Quote: Eralgais is so open to sand fam! Come have a chat.
Yeliya
It could have been very easy to get lost in the press and rush of bodies and flying elbows as people donned robes in a rush. Fortunately for Yeliya, she'd learned early on how to dodge. And she wasn't above elbowing someone back if need be. She wasn't about to get knocked over, or out, today of all days. Robe on, sandals laced, hair tucked and mostly contained, she marched to the Sands with the rest, closing her eyes for a moment as the first wave of heat hit her. When she opened them again, she made her bows, a genuine feeling of respect in her head and heart for the parents of this clutch, and then her attention was on the eggs.
To be completely honest, she'd never been as excited to meet a dragon as she was to see what might pope out of these eggs today.
Quote: Sand fam! Come stand by the tiny but mighty! She doesn't bite. Mostly.
Jhiroquel
How many times had he done this now? He'd lost track.
No. That wasn't true. He remembered every Hatching, but as he hadn't found his match in any of those that came before, he'd set them aside and moved on. It was the only way.
He smiled, faintly, as a younger boy near him stumbled, tripping over the hem of a robe slightly too long. Had he been there once upon a time? Maybe. Probably. The boy would learn, and next time, maybe he wouldn't be so clumsy. Or maybe there'd be no next time and he'd Impress. Either way.
Taking his place with the others, Jhiroquel bowed respectfully and crossed the sand. Spotting a familiar face, headed toward him, stopping at his side as if it had been arranged. "Kedriom," he said with a faint nod. "Let's see what we see, eh?"

Someone had, while eyes were focused on the wiggles of Aubergine, Worried Bear, and the like, been very busy. Nestled at the back of the clutch, Green Spotted had the luxury of being far from prying eyes, and with plenty of space to maneuver within its shell. It had carefully and quietly been picking a hole into the back of its egg, and when it at last slipped out, was well-concealed by its still largely-intact former home and nearby Pink and Purple Zig-Zag. It had lain hidden from view of anyone on the Sands save its parents before the baby sensed that the time to make a move was at last at hand!
It crept quickly over behind Gold Sunbeam, and for the first time, some sharp-eyed Candidates might have caught a glimpse of blue before it scurried behind the larger Cloudy Skies once it had stilled for a moment. It didn't stay long before scuttling behind Green Vine, and then...and then....!
Its moment here at last, the blue hatchling lunged out, aiming to pounce on Aubergine's tail.

Chakuri
Regardless of whether or not her fellow Candidate wanted company, the young woman was soon at Lihyo's side, watching the shifting eggs with almost laser-focus. The other girl could be prickly, to put it mildly, but that didn't make her a bad person! "Oh, look!" She whispered, for a bronze had hatched first. Some people thought that was a sign of good luck! A blue baby wasn't far behind, sneaking across the sands with the clear intention of playing with his brother...
Baby dragons were just so... cute!
Miomellai
Finally. She would be lying if she said she hadn't waited for this moment with bated breath, and she quickly washed up and dressed herself before dutifully heading out with the rest. If she pointedly kept her distance from her brother, it was because she had no trouble standing by herself. A bronze soon stepped forth purposefully from his shell, and she resisted the urge to sigh slightly. No chance for her, then. Well, he had been lovely to meet in the shell, and surely he would go to someone who deserved him.
She tried very hard not to think about spitefully about Midrymear.

Kahbrohm
Plenty of eggs were moving - as they were wont to when hatching was imminent - but the first to break shell held Kahbrohm's attention. "Didn't get much of an impression off of that one," he admitted as he looked covetously upon the bronze. It was no more covetous a look as he'd give to the blue that went leaping upon his brother.
"Never know what they'll want," but impatience wanted to fight its way out of his chest, something he tampered down firmly. "Both of us would be fortunate."
----
Cetra
There was Cetra's friend - and how very blue he was! She couldn't help but wonder over his leap upon his brother, solely based on the impressions she'd gotten from him while touching his egg. Did he particularly like that brother and that had urged him to hatch a little faster to expedite playtime?
-----
Midrymear
Of course Midrymear was looking at that first-hatched-bronze. How auspicious it must have been - would he mean good things for whoever impressed him? Did it mean good things for Mictecath's future clutches that her first hatched child gleamed so?
The blue was acknowledged, of course, because he wasn't an idiot who would overlook any dragon but...he definitely had some preferences.
----
Beelim
"I am," Beelim confirms, though he's still nervous - and he doesn't admit to those nerves. "I don't really know if I made any special connections at the touching, but..." The babies would each be special anyways and he would like to meet any that came over to them.
"Ohhh, we got a bronze and a blue already! Do you think those two are friends?" Brothers didn't always get along, after all - something they both knew well.
----
Lihyo
Lihyo didn't seem particularly surprised or disrupted by Chakuri's approach, though she gave the girl a measured look and made a point to keep a certain amount of personal space between them. Partially preference, partially in case any of the babies decided playing with each other was less exciting than bowling down candidates.
"I'm looking," Lihyo confirmed, her heart not immediately swelling six sizes over the sight of the babies. They were darling, yes, but her expectations were being kept well in check. No need to fall in love with every single one.
----
Draza
"Lots of cuties we'll have to keep our hands off when we impress," Draza noted, though she imagined that sort of a downside would pale in comparison to being absolutely and totally completed by impression. Frankly, she had no issues with the idea of keepin' her hands off of people for a while.
First shell, and apparently a second she hadn't noticed, broke - the blue only noticed as he descended upon his brother's tail. "Lively already," she noted with a wry smile. "Can't really hope for the bronze, but that blue is a looker."

Huff puff.
The dragonet within the Cloudy Skies Egg pushed, and pushed. With a great, tumultuous effort, the egg rounded on its side again, and with a sharp crack, split open.
In the center of the enormous egg sat a tiny bronze dragonet. After his great escape, he was plainly exhausted. It was time to rest for a moment, to catch his breath. But brothers were on the Sands, and he wanted to say hello. With a little, pleasant cheep, he greeted the current denizens of the Hatching Grounds.
Hello!
