Stuck In A Haunted Mental Facility

[Xanatos Forever]

Her scent grows strong as she exits the numbing aura of the room, and as she appears in his fielf of vision, he shivers with anticipation. He stalks her silently, his spidery walk aiding his hunt, allowing him ample time to crawl away from the light. How best to play with his victim, he wonders. Torture? Tempting, but too much in His style. Fear? It was always good, but he found that role was more apt to the other one. Dominance? A twisted grin played across his face at the thought, overpowering her, leaving her helpless and to his whim...

Those poor people... Lin contemplated as she continued to walk through the hallway back to the lobby with the red-stained walls. The thoughts of the devices she saw in the office used on the patients of this medical institution made her cringe. She sat down on one of the musty couches and tried to clear her thoughts.

"Perhaps, that's why this place was closed..." Lin muttered softly as she mediated about this building.

After a few minutes of rest, Lin stands once more and tries the door again - to no avail. She softly muttered an obscenity and explored the other wing of the building in an attempt to know more about this place.

And maybe... I'll find some way out of here in the process... Lin thought.

Wandering eyes went from blood stain to blood stain on the walls. Comming to a stop, she grew bored rather quickly. Pressing her cold back to the wall, she leaned her head back and stared up at the ceiling for a moment. The air vent provided her hair with some wind to blow it a bit to the left. Sighing softly, her body began to slide down the wall until her a** hit the firm ground. Bringing her knees to press against her chest, she then rested her head upon them. From a distance, she looked haunting; like a figures just sitting there with a soft light lumining from her body. Closing her golden eyes, she began to rest, hoping something exciting might happen to burst her blood flow.

He follows her, grinning as he hears the obscene remark escape her lips. She makes her way into another wing of the facility, and he decides to make his first move. With the fluid movement gained only through practice, he drags a hand across the ground behind the girl, making a scrabbling sound like that of some large being dragged across the floor. Immediately, he himself slithers off into a darkened corner, eyes locked on the girl to observe her reaction.

What... what the hell was that!? Lin thought in her mind. The prospect of another person in this building brought fear into her being. Who else except herself - for there were no other vehicles of any sort nearby - would be in this building. She gulps, slowly turns around, and carefully steps forward as she searched for the source of the sound.

"H... he... hello?" Lin said softly as she alertly observed what she could. She shakily grabs the white LED light from her pockets and scours the area for any hints that she could find.

I know I heard something...

He holds back a cackle of delight as her fear shakes her resolve. He could perform the same manuever again, but already a new act had entered his head. Placing his hands against the crumbling walls along with the soles of his feet, he lifts himelf up until he can grab a sturdy hold of the dark ceileng, hefting himself over until he is almost exactly above her. He holds himself there a moment, a wide grin on his face as he anticipates what is coming, and releases his grip on the ceiling, falling to the floor and landing with a sickening thud, extremities bent as seemingly odd angles, one of his hands actually upon the girl's foot. He stays on the ground, motionless as a corpse, not even the barest movement marking his breathing visible. (Come, child) he thinks to himself with glee, (Let your natual curiosity bring you closer to me...)

Lin's eyes widen - a cold chill surges through her spine. She screams and jolts back distancing herself as much as possible from the fallen corpse. She gulps and points her LED light at the motionless body.

"W... what the hell!?" Lin muttered to herself as she observed the body. It has to be dead... Lin thought - watching the unmoving corpse intently. Look at how it's body is... no live person could mishapen their bodies like that.

Slightly calmer, Lin slowly approaches the corpse, kneels down, and feels for a pulse or any sign of life. The chills return to her as she felt his supposedly-cold neck. It was warm...

Lost... Jack woke up somewhere. Not knowing why he decided to explore. He stood up from his bed and noticed he was in a cell. It was dark and lots of grime was on the walls. He stood up and tried to look around for somewhere to go. He was stuck in the cell with the cold bars keeping him locked inside the cell.

"Where am I?" as Jack wispered to himself.
Where was he really and how did he end up here?
Only time could really tell as he looked for a way out...

Holly finds herself coming out of the woods and into the sight of a large building. "Thank goodness," she says to herself as she moves as quickly as the pain in her leg will let her. She comes to a side door and nearly collapses as she opens it. Relieved that the door was not locked she practically crawled inside, blood from the gash on her calf leaving a smear on the dusty carpet. The room is completely dark and she can only guess what is to her left on the wall upon which she leans. Slowly her eyes adjust and she can see the outline of several peices of furniture. About ten chairs, a coffee table and a few young children's toys. All were covered in a thickish layer of dust. The place looked like a waiting room to a doctor's office.
"Well," Holly says quietly. "I don't think that whatever grabbed me in the woods can get in here."

Lin's eyes widen - a cold chill surges through her spine. She screams and jolts back distancing herself as much as possible from the fallen corpse. She gulps and points her LED light at the motionless body.

With speed rivaling a snake's strike, his arm swings over, wrapping around the girl's midsection. The next second, his other limbs right themselves, the bones cracking and snapping loudly, and he takes off with his prey, dragging her along with practiced ease...

With speed rivaling a snake's strike, his arm swings over, wrapping around the girl's midsection. The next second, his other limbs right themselves, the bones cracking and snapping loudly, and he takes off with his prey, dragging her along with practiced ease...

Lin screamed as the stranger dragged her to who knows where in the abandoned facility. She didn't know what was in store for her; she knows not this stranger or his intent. All she could feel was that she was in danger.

She kicked her legs and struggled - doing her best to make his work a challenge. Yet it was not enough to stop her from following wherever he dragged her.

Luckily, a table - bolted to the floor - passed by her. She quickly wrapped her legs around one of the legs stopping the dragging for now.

His thoughts were preoccupied with coming feast. He grunted in surprise as his movement was stopped so suddenly that he fell back, his grip on the girl loosening during his moment of shock...

Freed from the stranger's grip, Lin struggled to stand and sprinted away. She didn't realize, until it was too late to return, that she forgot her LED flashlight - but that was of no priority at the moment. With difficulty, she spotted a door in the distance and entered.

The room smelled of carcasses of rotting meat; the stench was horrible. She wanted to throw up. It was dark, but she saw enough to realize that she stumbled into the kitchen. Hopefully the darkness would disguise her for a while. She felt around the room carefully and quietly hoping to find something - anything - of use.

Zal quickly shut the door and locked it behind her, and went up to the cieling above her so he could watch her. He was invisible while he did it.
