If you're doing your own quest then you can choose which item you're questing for like those other threads below.But for Gaia quest system you can't choose.

You can't buy sword at the shop,they are only available at the marketplace.You need to buy a vending license costs 1000 golds in order for you to buy items at the marketplace.
