Hmmm... tough question. Well, I would have to say that it's easier to be a guy. Reasons for that is one guys (apart from if you're a seahorse which I highly doubt that you are...) don't have to go through pregnancy or child birth. Not only that but there are a lot of stereotypical things about blonds and brunettes along with a lot of other stereotypes. Plus, even though guys can be raped (only they never admit it after wards out of shame) girls are more likely to be raped. Plus, in some places young girls are kidnapped off the streets and turned into prostitutes sometimes serving as sex slaves. Although guys are more likely to receive sex-linked disorders or diseases then females (who are more likely to be carriers) they still don't have as many stupid stereotypes branded on them. Not only that but even now if you want to play a "guy sport" some of the guys will tell you to go back to baking and cooking. (I have had that happen to me... they left my sight with bloody noses afterwards...) Girls also can suffer from a lot of stress mainly from peers. Girls can be pretty darn vicious towards each other though girls tend to use words to harm then emotionally or mentally. On the other hand guys tend to be more physical. I know that the girls way is more affective..... stare But getting more to the point, it is harder to be a girl, not as hard as it used to be but it still is quite difficult.

All right, I'm a female.
Guys have it a lot easier than girls. I'm not meaning to whine but think about it. I've given up on TV mainly because it's showing that in order to be considered "pretty," girls have to be skinny as a rail. That's not healthy in anyone. Yes, I know a few very skinny people and they're guys with extremely fast metabolisms. Girls are getting a ton of stress put on them for not being considered "pretty" because they're not rail-thin or wearing a ton of makeup. Guys don't have to be super-skinny or wear makeup to be considered pretty. No offense against guys who like to wear makeup but I'd be kind of scared to see a guy wearing makeup out in public.
I get mistaken for anywhere from a 12-year-old (that annoyed me) to a 16-year-old because I wear very little makeup and am very unconcerned with what society thinks of me. I am just the right weight for my height and could care less about wearing makeup. I can make it through a day with some eyeshadow and mascara. I don't see why I need to please some guy with my body. I would rather date a guy who loves me for who I am, not who society wants me to be.

I really do think it's more a matter of social status than being male or female. On the one hand, I think there's more pressure on girls these days because people (or at least the media) are so obsessed with good looks that they feel all women should look drop-dead gorgeous, which is bs. But on the other hand, I think people expect a lot out of guys, simply because they're guys. They're supposed to make things alright, be mature, or "bring home the bacon," you know? I'd say equal.

And I kinda dislike my fast motabolism... -_- It just means I have to eat more to stay at a healthy weight. I'm 15 and considered under weight with a low fat percentage but I seriously can not help it at all. (I eat healthy, just not all that diet food)

meh, I may have voted guys have it easier but I'm starting to think they're about the same since girls are pressured to feel pretty but I think guys get around the same pressure to look attractive and its mainly focused on their body. From what I understand they're pressured to lose their virginity at an early age by their male peers but also have to maintain a gentlemanly stature by their female peers.

Yeah, but I know plenty of girls that would much rather date a virgin then some one who already lost it. That's just kinda stupid to me.... (about loosing it at an early age that is...)

i would have to say that it would be a lot easier to be a guy in these times then a girl. after all we are the ones that repopulate the world, right. SOME guys take us for granted really. but when it all comes do to it, you have to work twice as hard just to reach the same position as a guy.

Ok having read all the views I can safely say none of you live in my sountry. This thing about women having it harder or men having it harder is quite relative. People the grass will always look greener on the other side but that does not mean it is. In my country if one wants to cross the road other than at a stop light or pedestrian crossing the drivers will 0.02% of the time stop for a guy whilst that is the percentage that they wont stop for a female. I have tested this: I stood 3m away from a woman wanting to cross the same road. A car came up and did not stop for me to cross but 3m down stopped for her. People have backed up traffic to let women cross the road. Now that is just a small portion; if two women walk through town holding hands or meet in town and hug that is alright; on the other hand two guys do this they are descriminated against for being homosexual (I live in a very small country, small population, homosexuals are hated and descriminated against in many aspects especially music and there are no gay rights) and once clased as gay there is no getting back a social status once gay always gay. Women have none of that, as a guy u have to watch what you say, how u say it, what u wear, how u wear it, where u go, you u go with, etc.
Moving on: many people fail to understand that in this sex and money driven world women have the advantage. Please note I am not stereo typing and saying that a woman can't but usually a man has to have all the qualifications necessary to get into a high ranking position, whilst a woman can just have sex with the right person/people. Now, women rule the world! Let me take the shocked looks of your faces. If the most powerful man in the world kills someone he gets off scotch free, do you think if he has a wife and forgets to bring home milk he will sleep in the same bed, no, he will sleep in the couch. Now tell me, if someone has that kind of power over the most powerful man that means that she is most powerful. Please note this is never brought out in public discussions because the shadowed male driven society in which we exist actually has a few women pulling the strings and if widely known more and more women will exercise the privillage and the world as we know it would crumble. I will end with this analogy: Superman's weakness was not kryptonite rather the woman they always used to draw him into a trap where the kriptonite is used.
