If your asking about dieing or the feeling of death gripping you I imagine it as somthing terrifying and painfull well thats what my primal instincts tell me so I tend to avoid that all together...
but after death..*gets all fluttery and calm* well~ heart
I figure when you die you go up to the gates after the tunnel and theres saint peter and he's got his big a** book and he's all "hey there! We've bine expecting you! Come on into the lobby and we'll get you situated alright?" and ya go into heavens lobby and it's one giant grassy beautifull field with one single tree in the middle, and sitting at the tree is the gods you beileve in (for familitary purposes only). Lets say I walk over to buddha he's being fat and sassy with his robe and sweater nitted and given to him as a haunikka gift from jesus while eating pan-cakes and watching "crim watchers", and he goes "well hey there bro! Whats up? Sit down have some pancakes..they sell like hot cakes! lololol!!" and ya sit down next to buddha cause jesus is busy doing his income taxes at home because he's a busy god and god himself is surveying human evolution while running on his tred mill from his estate making sure we evolve to be all we can be. Anyway buddha asks "you want to um..be reincarnated? Mabye have another run at the game we call life bro?" and you could come back as somthing and he'd say "well we got a open spot for..an elephant..a tiger..oh the aurochs is making a come back!" I'd disagree and be all "no thanks..I think I'll stay in heaven for a few more centuries see how things play out..mabye after the end of the world" buddha would smile "oh bro thats a risky choice but whatever it's all cool. Have a look around."
Anyway I figure heaven is an eternal sleeping dream of endless adventure, and pleasure doing whatever you desire.

yeah I've always wondered...my mom was on the verge of dieing and she says that her eyes were opened and she only saw the things that really mattered. she didn't feel any hatred or jealousy....she said because of that experience she doesn't look at life the same way.. i think death feels like relief ...like your free I'm not afraid of death i just accept that it's inevitable

Death is a hard meaning to really put into a one time label. The idea of death or what it might be is seen all over worldly cultures, from way back to the stone age to the world we know now. Many believe man decedents into an idea of a soul when he first buried his dead instead of leaving them to rot in the sun and such. Even tools were buried with the dead to use in the next world. Shamans came out of this belief and became the spiritual leaders of their people.
One example of a well known type of death is that of the early the Third Dynasty of the actient Egypt to deal with the Pharaoh. Many years and rights were done to the pharaoh to get him ready for the after life and to join the gods. Which is known as the pyrimidines we see standing today.
Mayan themselves took the conspectus of death in the form of a "sacrificer" to the gods to keep them happy. Due to blood being seen as a kind of liquid of life. Thus it would keep the land rich and being needed rain or sunlight to crow the crops needed to keep the people alive. The Prist had more say over the people then their king did. So he in turn did what he was told like a puppet in play.
Christianay has the idea of "life after death" which can be the same and very different depending on that branch.

I believe it is similar to sleep, only without dreams. You are not aware of yourself, you are not aware of anything. You cease to exist, and thus cease to feel anything.

Gamerz_grim but what happens to your subconsios mind after death. there are many theories, but in all honesty only the dead know the answer to this question, and since no one who's truly dead has ever come back (i'm not talkin for 2 or 3 minutes either.. near death experience can be simulated by electrically stimulating areas of the brain in fully living, breathing bodies), you'll just have to wait until you yourself die to find out. personally, I can wait. there's no rush for me to find out the answer, and there's no use in worrying over it because death will come whether I like it or not. smile
