Well, If you are looking for something less known then bleach and naruto then I recommend Utawarerumono. (there she goes again! xd ) It's got shonen and shojo so you're all set wink oh and don't forget cute half wolf girls.

If you like the fruits basket anime then I highly recommend reading the manga instead if you are into manga as well.

Definitely Wolf's Rain =D The ending made me cry, but then it made me happy. Don't you just love happy endings? (is this considered a spoiler?)
Full Metal Alchemist - this here is one of my faves. It is so original because it's not about falling in love with special circumstances. It's about brothers sticking together. Timeless cuz it happens in the past. A masterpiece. I have never met anyone who didn't love Full Metal Alchemist. Although the movie was SLIGHTLY disappointing, I think the ending fits.
Eureka 7 -OMG I heart Eureka and Renton. They are the cutest couple EVER! xd but its more than that. It's a mecha anime. The art style, animation, and plot were awesome. It is a timeless anime cuz it's about the (way way way distant) future and it's totally original. It's a work of art.
Death Note -didn't see the series. saw the live-action movies which were da bomb! mrgreen
Samurai Shamploo -never saw it but heard lots of good things
Hellsing -if your in to the creepy and slightly perverted. it was ok. don't care for a second season. this one guy says the F word like a hundred times in every sentence mad hated that to no end (I realize. it was apart of his character. but I still hated it)
Black Cat -I did not enjoy the last episode. It totally ruined the anime for me. or was it the last two? but it was good fun to watch. seriously. take a look at this one.
Elfen Lied -this is the most notorious anime out there. At least from the ones I know. I'm trying to erase it from my memory not cuz it was horrifying (not to say the blood and guts were disturbing and some parts didn't make me cringe) to a point of mental scars, but becuz watching it went against my moral code. xp
DNAngel -innocent action and good fun to watch. I gave it an A+ also the art and animation rocked. My fave character was Satoshi heart (that was his name right question ) I didn't see the sub, but I think your better off watching it. The dub's voices were ick. It's cause they tried to imitate the Japanese voices. but when will they learn that the high-pitched voices of Japan's squekers only sound good in Japanese? no offense. although, Mousy's voice sounded right. also the dubbed OP by him was awesome. It was so catchy I downloaded it blaugh
Rozen Maiden - fighting dolls. sounds girly right? not exactly. check it out for yourself. the ending of season 2 was disappointing though.
Fooly Cooly -so random. I thought it was retarded (no offense to fans). at least Elfen Lied had direction and a real plot you can follow that was captivating. I stopped watching it after the first 10 min.
Code Geass -no see. but hear good
Rurouni Kenshin -my sis says its good
YuYu Hakusho -can't believe no one mentioned it. heart the ending. sure its a bit old, but its a clasic in anime. like Inuyasha.
Sailor Moon -is a total girl's thing. If your gonna watch it, watch the sub. dub will murder you. plus I hate the style of drawing. I stopped after season 2. Sailor moon's voice after season 2 was so bad that I could not stand to watch every time she talked. I didn't even bother to finish the episode. I thought, it's not worth it cry whee .
Kure-nai -its one of the newer things. animation/art style superb. ending = xp . It's only 12 eps with a possible season 2, so check it out. You won't be disappointed.
Vampire Knight -also of the newer things. is also a big hit. not sure if boys like it as much as girls do neutral
Gundam series -pretty long. never saw. not planning too. maybe eventually when I can dedicate that much time to finishing them.
Fruits Basket the manga -its the "number 1 selling shoujo manga". says so right on the cover. but its very nice :] . the anime totally sucks. especially the last episode. HATED scream it.
xxxHolic + sequel -plan on watching. good plot cool
anything and everything by Ghibli Studios -Miyazaki is a legend in the anime world. his movies are the best. Spirited Away even won an award. if your looking for a movie, pick up one of his smile
One Piece -hate the dub cuz they changed the voices when the old ones were perfectly fine. jeez what is up with that. and the series was moving too slow so I dropped it. but one of these days I'm gonna buy the whole thing on DVD and breeze through the whole thing.
the dasterdly downfall of Zatch Bell. at first it was likable (and the concept of momotos and what not was awesome. I really liked where it was going with this idea), but it got so riduculously sappy and the pace got so slow that 2 episodes in a row were identical twins that it was dropped from Toonami. I plan on watching the sub one day. maybe its better...
Code Lyoko -despite the art being not anime-ish at all, it was actually a good series with good plot action. It is likable contrary to common belief.
Avatar: the Last Airbender -yes I realize it is technically not anime but I think it kicks anime's butt. most of the time, innocent things are so innocent they make you want to bargh because they reach the point of patheticness *coughcoughPokemonDiamond&Pearlcoughcough* but this one is just a perfect balance and is the first thing I like so much I am willing to buy it on DVD. besides, I missed the episode before the movie crying
Witch Hunter Robin -its ok. action/adventure and slightly creepy. conspiracy blah blah blah things blow up guns and yelling and black brown and more grey. you get the picture. art style = confused . the only pretty person was Robin. and as a girl, I find the art style to be mucho important.
Many have said Ouran High School Host Club -it IS the best of its kind. Of all the romantic comedies out there, this one is the least likely to make you say 'gag me and run me over with your truck'. lol. its actually very good, and the ending was good too. Haruhi is one of my few favorite heroines. she's tough and doesn't stutter like a babbling idiot. "rich bas*****". lol. and luckily there is no dub mrgreen .

I'm all out of things to say. every one has pretty much said it all 3nodding and I've commented all I can.

Yu Yu Hausho- I loved this show so much my favorite anime second anime I ever watched 1st was obviously DBZ xP classic cna't believe CN canceled it and didn't run re-runs and also that no one else posted this


Berserk- I didn't see anyone mention this, good anime sad ending, kind of bad ending, but suspensful.

Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z/Dragon Ball GT-Obviously one of the best anime/cartoon kinda thing EVER you jsut can't beat it, you probably already watched it though
