[Valiant Fenris]

Fid slapped his father's shoulder, seeing Maya's unease. Berem turned around and gave her his softest, most fatherly grin. "Sorry miss. I didn't think it was a sore subject for you. Your not like them, and I know it. Even withought Fid's advice, you look innocent."  

[Maya Freana]

The drow just curled up a bit in response, though it was unclear if she was asleep at this point or merely pretending to be. She just didn't want to think about it anymore at the moment. Instead, she needed to be focusing on trying to get rid of her fever, though it didn't want to break it seemed.

Berem nodded. "OK, I understand...you don't wanna talk about it..." He turned back and Fid didn't bother him any more. Fid leaned close to Maya, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, we are almost there." The humans in the village knew how to treat a fever far better than Fidelius.  

[Maya Freana]

Maya had fallen asleep again by the time Fid finished his sentence, the drow visibly relaxing as she drifted off to sleep. At this point she just wanted to be there so they would be done with traveling for a while and she wouldn't have to worry about it. Moving when she was still so vulnerable was something that made her very nervous, and she greatly desired to just feel normal again at this point.

Fid knew she had fallen to sleep. Her breath was calm now. later, they had arrived at the village by sundown. Women came with a stretcher and handed it to them men while a few placed an herbal slime like solution on Maya's forehead. It would send nutrients through the skin that would fight off infections. Maya was placed in the main house, not too big, but large. It was the Cheif's house, Berem's house.

Sometime around midnight, Maya finally woke up again. Opening her eyes, the drow knew the sun had finally gone down and she quickly discovered that her fever had broken. Pushing herself up to a sitting position, she looked around, trying to figure out where she was. It seemed that they'd reached the human village finally. She was feeling better even if her ribs were still a bit sore, but she smelled something odd nearby. Reaching up, she felt the slime on her forehead and shuddered, wiping it off now to try and get rid of it stuff.

A woman walked in and rushed over to her. "Lay down Dearie! You may be drow, but your still too weak..." She wiped the slime off for the girl, but made her lay back down. Then, she ran off to get the girl to get something to eat.  

[Maya Freana]

The drow was slightly startled when the woman ran in, made her lay back down and then left just as quickly as she'd come. Sighing, Maya stayed down, suspecting that the human would be back, though she stared at the ceiling as she laid there. Honestly the drow was getting tired of 'resting' and by the next night would be up and moving despite anyone's protests.

Fid came in not soon after with Maya's food. "Sorry. You just recovered from a fever. Your immune system needs to rest a bit." He handed her a bowl of hot stew, fresh bread with butter, a piece of cheese, and a glass of wine.

"I feel a lot better though." Maya argued softly as she sat up once more and began eating the stew. After the first bite, it really dawned on the drow just how hungry she was, almost feeling like she'd been punched in the guts when the food hit her empty stomach.  

[Valiant Fenris]

"Yea yea..." He ignored her comment and let her eat. "You can get up and walk around tomorrow, but no strenuous activities..."  

[Maya Freana]

Maya scarfed down the stew in a matter of minutes before she moved onto the bread and cheese. "Fine." She sighed, at least happy she could that walk around tomorrow.

Fid went to go get her more. She seemed a bit hungry. He came back with a piece of cinnamon bread. "Here."

Maya ate it quickly, finally taking a sip of wine, feeling full after all that food. Human wine was...stronger than drow wine, and it was not something she expecting, though that much could be evident from her look of shock as she swallowed it.

Fid looked at her, raised an eyebrow, and laughed. "If your having trouble with that then don't ever accept ale." He wiped his eyes as a tear escaped.
