Sucurith's encouragement seemed to brighten the slightly-charred brown. He felt far better, and found a second wind of strength. Sure, half of him was charred and crisped; but he was Venandith. Wasn't he a fighter? Wasn't he ready to do the most good and be the hero Pern needed?
You're right about that, brother. Watch me in action--I'll be sure to give you quite the show! Nevermind that he found himself in a bit of bad spot... but a quick jump Between left him only minorly scored.

1: You critically fail! You either appear between directly in the clump of Thread and take Major Damage for -8 HP =or= you could wind up getting lost Between, and die, having not properly visualized where to jump. Death -- optional.
2: You appear close to the clump. Your dragons wings are grazed, but another quick hop and you're fully clear of the danger. [Minor Damage -1 HP.
3: You're fully clear of the danger! Phew! That was close! +1 Extra Between Accuracy
4: You not only manage to blink out of danger, but you blink back again, flame half of the clump, and blink away again only to appear a safe distance away. It's an impressive display of thread fighting power! Good job! Word will be going around the lower caverns tonight! +2 Extra Between Accuracy

The wind wasn't letting up either. Severith rumbled as it tried to force him from his position. Banashe felt the brown straining in his wingbeats, but maintaining his spot.

The wind once again sought to harm Dhremorath, but Z'von caught it in time. The pair hopped between, reappearing just above where they'd been moments before, and the Thread fell down below.

Severith went about his business of flaming Thread. Until he spotted a wingmate about to be in a bad position. He beat his wings furiously to close the gap, but knew he would not make it. Beware! The brown called to the other dragon as he flamed one of the three threatening clumps. Thankfully the other dragon managed to blink out in time before getting hit.

Everything hurt. EVERYTHING HURT. Zetigeth was barely keeping up in the air and flaming at the same time but somehow the brown was managing. He just wasn't quite in synch with his rider at the moment as his body throbbed in pain and he couldn't make any hops Between, which made the entire event that much more dangerous as he sailed through silver skies.

Finally there was some relief starting to ease across him, but the brown's eyes were still pure white as he flew in what almost felt like the dark. D'ast fared no better as he rode out the waves of his dragons sickening pain and panic, the only thing grounding them was the constant connection they'd always had for turns and one hand firmly gripping a single ridge on the small brown's back.

Although his battle with the wind continued, Dhremorath was not tired. He was a strong, fierce bronze. There were young dragonets below looking up to him as an example, and he would not disappoint them.

Vigilant as ever, Dhremorath caught sight of a wingmate in danger. He bugled a warning, sending a gout of flame at the offending Thread, even as his wingmate blinked between.

With the ache finally subsiding despite the ache in the brown's hearts from knowing that the Weyr had lost one dragon and his rider this day, Hoath was finally breathing just a little bit easier. Ri'ven had given him the coordinates to a spot that was thankfully free of thread currently and the two took the moment to glance around to make certain everyone else in their own wing was okay.

A large sheet of Thread wiggled past on its downward trajectory. Severith wheeled over and came down upon it like flaming vengeance. The Thread didn't stand a chance as it was seared by hot flames.

This was par for the course for the large bronze, and it was no surprise that he readily flamed a sheet of Thread from the sky. With a mighty roar, he faced off with the silver rain that dared menace Pern!

With all the winds that were picking up it didn't take long for the empty area to be filled with little strands that were blowing in every direction. Though Hoath wasn't agile enough to mop them all up with his flame the brown was doing a decent job of scorching them down one at a time all the same. A few were falling past but he was working with a long flame and a wave of patience from his rider.

Try though Silmarath might, he could not entirely fight back the wind without harm to himself. With a soft squeal of pain, the bronze noted that he had almost certainly pulled a muscle.
