Yeah, Ani didn't hear Eileen's shrieks because she was currently in the front row being quite thoroughly deafened by the stereo speakers. And her own screams of 'HELL YES!' and 'WOOOOOO!'
Which were probably earning her quite a few glares, but she didn't notice, nor would she even really care if she did.

DarkPisces "Sounds awesome!" Griffin stepped up to the ticket booth and mumbled to the teller that he wanted two for "Death by Explosion." He traded the cash for tickets and led Dru in the direction of the movie entrance. He stopped briefly. "You want anything from the concession, love?" It reminded him of the fateful moment two days ago when he had first met Dru by the pool. He smiled. "Nah thanks,"Dru said softly,"I'll be ok. Do you want anything from the concession?" Dru loved the sensation she got from being with Griffin. They didnt even have to be doing anything, they could be sitting in a corner in silence and she would still get a buzz from him. Dru sighed at how wonderful that feeling was.

((Well, nobody else was posting so I figured I would.))
Griffin shook his head and kissed Dru gently before handing the doorman their stubs and leading her into the dimly lit theatre. There were already several people in the seats, including a few that he recognized from the pool two days prior. He led Dru carefully through a crowd of guffawing twenty-somethings and took a seat near the rear where they could have some measure of privacy.

Lee nearly choked on some popcorn as Eileen buried her head in his shoulder.
Woah, not expecting that one.
Lee had to laugh at some of the corny lines and the various ways of bumping off the villians the script writers used.
"You won't be seeing this bomb again!" Seriously, Who says that in real life?
Eileen almost jumped out of her seat as an explosion went of in the movie, so Lee put his arm around her.

((Okay, I'm gonna go into hyper-DM mode here; it may override something you were doing, and if so, I'm sorry. I'll try to keep my iron fist to a minimum, but page twenty seems like the perfect time to get it on. All story-shaping posts by myself will be in ornate with narration in colored italics.))
So, all the players had gathered in one place, at one time. A theater... apt a place as any. More, perhaps. They all sat in their seats, watching the newest summer hit; Death By Explosion. Relationships had begun to twine, finals were on the horizon.
'Sorry but could I have the music louder?'
BOOM! The air in the theater was charged with that kind of adolescent fire; the kind that's there whenever a parent's not. John just couldn't help himself anymore; when a girl all the way up front jumped up to cheer on the screen, he jumped up with a shout too. Mel looked at him kinda silly, but when the next bomb hit she jumped up too. Jeremy, taking 'that crazy guy's' lead, hopped up and howled, garnering a few awkward stares from the lovey-dovey ones in the room. He was used to that. What he wasn't expecting was that the girl with 'that crazy guy' to turn around and be Melanie.
"Wh-Jeremy!," Mel screeched, seeing who it was. That little brat!
There wasn't really a sound, just kind of that awkward dead silence. 'Dead as the Grave', some might say. Nothing felt right. Nothing was right.
Nothing was right at all.

Outside, in the hallway, things were broken and shattered. Scorched, and burned away. Skeletons made of charcol, people made of ash. Quite a grisly sight to behold.
Who would know whether those left alive were granted a grace, or cursed. Cursed to live in a winter with no snow, no cabin up on the hill to serve them hot cocoa. It was like... the just fell out of the world.
Or the world fell out on them.
'Feelin' kinda dizzy because of my dreams...'

Eileen who still had her head burrowed in Lee's shoulder gave a yelp of surprise and a little jump, "OhmyGodohmyGodohmyGodohmyGod..."
"Was that part of the movie, Lee?"
She looked up, worried and seeing the film stop. "Oh my God..."
SHe shivered slightly, standing up and yelling quite loudly, even louder than the rest, "WHAT HAPPENED???"
She was already more than a little bit afraid with all of the explosions, but this was getting ridiculous!

Dru sat down in one of the seats and sighed softly. This felt so perfect, so right and the movie was going to be a good one.
((Sorry, couldnt think of anything to say.))

((NO FREAKING WAY!!! MY MOVIE TITLE KICKS a**!!! I so called it... wow. Kickass. Anyway...))
The projector had gone lopsided. Jeeves was pissed as hell for spending his money on a movie that he had to squint to see, he ignored the sense of unease creeping into the theatre.
FOCUS!" Impatiently, he stormed out into a hallway littered with dust and he could hear screams and possibly a distant siren, "What the...."
His heart turned to stone in his chest. "You have got to be shitting me!"
Meanwhile Mel found herself prying her fingers off of John's arm. She told herself she was being paranoid, even if it was incredibly loud... even for a theatre. They've just increased the volume, that's all. Then the power flickered, the movie went crooked and then just dropped into the blackness of the theatre.
"John? What happened? Where are the emergency lights?" Her voice was calm and even, even though her mind was racing through every possible cause of the blackout.
Just then the door to the theatre opened letting in a sliver of light from the fading summer evening outside that had been so perfect. Whoever had opened the door had leaned against it and slowly slid down to a sitting position, holding it open. Jeeves was speechless for once, usually being the one who did or said something shocking he was almost never left at a loss for words.
The empty theatre had reached a hush unlike any other, so everyone heard Jeeves utter the words, "Now where the hell am I gonna get my cigs?"

Eileen beckoned Lee to come with her to the doorway, "What happened?" She asked, voice shrill and quavery with worry, "Was there an earthquake? Did we get locked in?"
Peering out the door, she felt her heart turn to ice, "What the hell is going on here?" Her voice was sharp and alarmed. She quickly ran out, none of this feeling real.
"HELP! SOMEONE! IS ANYONE HERE? HELP!"
Running back to the theatre, and to Lee, someone who she at least knew, she whispered softly, "It must just be a bad dream...This can't be real..."
Unhappily, she thought to herself, In my psychology book..First step? Denial.

Jeeves turned to the two people who had joined him at the door then shakily stood up and brushed the fine dust off of his black clothes. "You guys are seeing this too, right?"
He took their dumbfounded silence as a yes. Jeeves stood there dumbly for a moment before asking. "Say, do you mind if I have a smoke?" Before waiting for a reply he pulled a half-empty pack out of his pocket and lit it with his butane lighter.

((The Pisces will now attempt to combat his confusion and post.))
Griffin felt his adrenaline skyrocket as the theatre went ghostly silent. He held Dru tightly to him and looked around frantically. Unsure as to what was going on, he simple called out the first thing that came into his head. "What the hell is going on?" Appropriate were the words. Unfortunately for Griffin, they were also unanswered. The only thing he could feel was the girl pressed firmly against his chest. She had become a part of his subconscious protection. It was a sort of self-induced, pseudo-guardianship that he knew shouldn't be there. Sure, he felt himself falling for her more and more by each passing moment, but the question still burned white hot in his skull. Should I let myself go again? Griffin Bryant shook the thought from his headfor now and tried to focus on the present. Something had happened. The entire theatre was tense, and he wanted to know why.
((Yay big words!! ^_^))

((I hate to ping-pong, but I just couldnt resist this one.))
Dru let out a small gasp as the theater became quieter and quieter. She could feel her throat constricting slightly in fear. Noone had answered Griffin, that worried her even more.
"What's going on?"She whispered frantically to Griffin. She could sense that he too was scared, but he refused to show it. Dru found this very meaningful to her.
She strained to look across the rest of the theatre to get an idea of what was going on and that's when she smelt it. The deathly scent of burnt human flesh. Dru gagged silently and tried not to let her imagination wander too far.

Lee looked out of the door, seeing the crisped remains of people waiting to get their tickets.
"Ohshitohshitohshit" Thats not natural, People don't just explode for no reason. Something's going on.
Right, We need to do something. We can't just stay here, waiting for something to happen.
He snapped back into the real world with a bang and heard Eileen talking to him
"We need to get somewhere safe. Underground'd probably be good, but I don't know anywhere like that."
Eileen was in tears, and the only thing Lee cound think to do was hug her.

((The Pisces has gotten his bearings and will now not only post again but will stop referring to himself in the third person.))
His question had first been answered with silence and tension, but was now answered with silent fright and a smell. It was strangely familiar to him, but he didn't know why. He searched his usually malfunctioning memory banks and found it. Burnt flesh. It choked his lungs as it penetrated his sinuses and caused him to heave. Despite his shaking hands he continued to hold Dru to him. "I'm not sure," he answered when he heard her timid question. "Nevertheless, we can't stay here. See? The theatre's almost empty as it is." Griffin gently but firmly pulled Dru to her feet and began walking towards the door. Everywhere, chaos and panic seemed to be taking it's toll as heavily-breathing cinema employees and movie-goers alike charged for the door. Griffin pushed his way out into the hall and gasped at the sight he now beheld. Scorched corpses, small burning bits of trash, and charred concession parts lay everywhere. The smell was prodominant out here and it almost sent Griffin to his knees. Be strong for her, his head screamed. She needs you! At this he forced himself to stand up straight and ventured forward into the disgusting carnage. Still his mind raced. What the hell had happened?
