*Runs through the Phunkeh flailing in happiness that SHE IS DONE HER FIRST YEAR OF UNIVERSITY*
This is exciting because: -I am taking a year off (possibly more, depending on what happens during my time off) -I move out tomorrow morning -it means NO MORE LOUD PEOPLE ALL NIGHT ALL DAY when I am trying to do things -no more fire alarms! -home made meals
heart
In sad news, however, my pet betta fish Bob died today after an extended illness ):

I could never keep fish alive... Bob, you will be missed (almost?) as much as Bob the cat is missed emo
Yay finishing your first year! Was it a success? Did you level up in self-control because of living near assholes? Was it fun? Did you learn things? Why are you taking a year off, if I might ask? I love you

According to a thing I read, octopodes is the most proper plural of octopus. My computer's spellcheck says this is bullshit, but it doesn't know whether octopus is of Greek or Latin origin anyways. Octopi and octopuses are also considered acceptable, and my computer likes those two. Octopodes are still way better.

Octopodes sounds like the coolest word ever. I need to find an excuse to use it in a sentence one day just to confuse people. And on a side note, my computer's spell check calls bs on it too..

That's because people mistakenly think that the proper pluralization of octopus is octopi, just like hippopotamus is hippopotami. Huh, my computer says that's a crap plural, too... Those bastards and their correcting of my perfectly okay words!
Spellcheck always wants to change my character's names to stupid things unless I tell it to ignore them. Muna goes to Moan or Mona, and Eiradrais goes to Eardrum etc... It's kinda annoying sometimes >.o

Spellcheck does not like my name. :/ It suggests Tannery, Taryn, Taejon (?!), or Tavern,

Yeah... I'm glad my name is a standard spelling when it comes to things like that.
So... I started reading Homestuck yesterday because I saw fanart and was under the impression that there would be trolls. It takes a while to get to them, but they're in the story now. Anyways, the long and short of it is that I have just realized that I love trolls. They're cool and adorable and almost as awesome a mythical creature as dragons and werewolves and stuff. Gryphons and unicorns are cool too. Gah, I love a lot of mythical creatures!
Damn, spellcheck doesn't like gryphon, but it's by far my favorite spelling of the creature. Griffin just isn't as nice looking, and Griffen is a friend of mine.

lol octopodes...
Was my year a success: Well, I passed 2 of 4 classes last semester, am hopefully going to pass 4 of 4 this time... I don't really know. I'm bad at measuring success?
Self-control level: dangerously low. Especially the last few days neutral My desire to bang their face against the floor repeatedly screaming "SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP" is at an all-time high. However, no violent action has been taken. Thank the-God-I-don't-believe-in that I am moving out in the morning.
Was it fun: ... not really, no. I spent a lot (loooooooooooot) of time being depressed, or angry, or frustrated, and generally feeling crappy :/ Fun times included being home for a few weekends/holidays where I got to hang out with people from home, and being online <3 Also INFINITE HOT WATER SHOWERS OHYES.
Taking a year off: To figure out something about my life :/ I have no idea what I want to do school-wise. I got accepted here for biology, but I hated the idea before I even finished high school (we apply for college/uni in December). Tried some social-science "arts" courses this semester, enjoyed it more, at least... So yeah, figuring out what I want to do with my life at home, where I live for free, rather than at school where I am miserable and have to pay thousands of dollars in tuition and living expenses. Also I have no more money :/ I actually had to get OSAP (government student loans) to pay for this semester, so... Yeah, getting a job to pay that off. I might end up taking some college courses or something.** Also figuring out things about moving down to live with Pisces. Which, if things go well, will be some time early-ish next year.
Tae: yaaaaay indeed biggrin I am so super excited. Also excited for no more fire alarms at all hours of the night! We had THREE in as many day. One Thursday evening, one Friday afternoon, and one Saturday morning around 3am. That is 3, within 48 hours. And last semester we were averaging one every week.
Re: fish, Yeah... Bob seemingly managed to contract roughly half the possible deadly betta fish diseases within a few weeks. I don't think he ate anything at all during the last week or so :/ emo
Re: names, Spell-check always wants my last name to Butcher, Butcherer, But chart, or Butch art. Also with the possibility of hyphens.
**American friends: if you did not know, Canadian colleges are like ... practical, direct-into-job schools. Universities are more degree programs that you then go to med or law school or whatever (I forgot the word.. grad school, maybe?)

*shudders* As much as I loved my university, living in residence was extremely unpleasant. It was better when there was more of a mix of girls and guys, but most of the time I was stuck being the only guy in a residence full of young "ladies", and ... yeah. Quote: ....desire to bang their face against the floor repeatedly screaming "SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP"... That pretty much sums it up. xD

Our schools... You go to to get a degree and maybe figure out what you're going to do with your life while you're still in uni. At least I have a plan, which... My vague ideas/plans are more than can be said for quite a few people my age, I guess.
I was thinking of something, but then I forgot. It sounded snazzy, too, whatever it was.
I ate too many cookies today. I'm not nauseous or anything, I just feel kinda... I dunno. Like I ate too many cookies and need to cut back on sweets since I live such a sedentary lifestyle here at school. I'm hoping to be able to actually get out and do things with my life in college. At least I won't have a bunch of stupid rules to follow next year, so I can go out for a walk in the middle of the night if I feel like it. Damn, it's a good thing I don't have the room Leeah and Kalah have. Their window looks right out onto the roof and I know I would get in trouble and put on suicide watch or something because one night I'd get caught taking the screen out of my window so I can go chill on the roof and stargaze, especially if there was a meteor storm that night. I just want to sit on a roof at night somewhere.
I'm sorry you guys have had such crappy residence experiences. The worst I've had here as far as neighbors are the girls across the hall. I love them to death and they're sweet girls, but they just laugh really loud really late at night. I hope I don't have the type of s**t you're talking about in college next year =x

Tae: I am the only quiet person who wants to have a semi-normal sleep schedule on my floor neutral and possibly within at least one floor above and below me. It is hell. And no matter how many times I remind them "Hey, I live here? Like, at the end of the hall? Yeah, behind that other door. I would like to sleep please ):" they will be loud again within a few minutes. So yeah, THANK YOU BEING DONE WITH EXAMS.

Whee not living in res? razz I'm fortunate enough to stay at home, so I don't have to deal with the stupidity of room mates and all that, but I have to say transit time is killer. I live on the other end of the city from my uni, so it takes almost 2 hours to get there on time...
And as for figuring out what you're doing... that's not always true of Canadian schools. I'm so unaware of what I'm doing right now it's insane. But I don't want to take a year off... I went into uni thinking I wanted to be a novel editor, so I took an english major. But now that I'm doing it, I find that it's not what I was expecting, so I want to switch into a communications studies degree since I actually love that class. But that being said, I now have no idea what to do with that... but I'm sure I'll figure it out as I go. It's actually kind of exciting thinking that I'll just roll with it...
