We thought 4.0 would be really awesome for beginners, more friendly, but all the limitations are just ******** stupid. Tieflings have a whole ancestral line, there are only three alignments, criticals are just... stupid. It has some great points where it definitely did fix some of the previous problems, but it was so strict that we ended up making major changes before we could really make things work.
I mean, I guess it's great that you aren't rolling six times to know if you can dance in 4.0.

I actually can't really say what I would like more or less or why considering I literally just started playing a few months ago. I've been enjoying Pathfinder though.

Also not jumping 200 feet into the air in order to charm people. The magazines are what broke 3.5 for me anyway. I like it, but it can be difficult to understand.
Also, Gurps is amazing.
Edit, why hello!

It's for any kind of role playing you want to do. It has rules for just about anything that you can think of and it's really simple. You have skills and roll Xd6 against them. I once had an American Gladiator who had the powers of the Dazzler GURPS.

Also I was the son of alien Hitler cause the DM was a big troll. He asked us to go to the secret Jew Moon Base and fight Nikola Tesla for contorl over it.
Gurps is a really flexible system, and the Serenity system is based off it I think.
Also NEEEEEEERRRRRDS

I've never actually used GURPS, but I keep hearing really great things about it. I don't have anyone to play games with at the moment, my only friends from school are very much a clique that I am (mostly) excluded from because I don't live there, and my other friends are either all online or in high school still. Not that there are many of them in the first place.
I've been trying to start a Serenity game forever, though.

I'm about to run one with some pals here at my school. As the DM I feel obliged to take the sky from them.

We've actually been trying to get a group together to play Airship Pirates ourselves... I can make a wannabe Batman character and I wish to do this badly Serenity would be cool to play though...

Don't you know better? You can never take the sky from them. You can take land and love, but not the sky.
Have any campaign plans, or are you going to make things up as you go?

I have plans that I wrote up. It won't be set in the Serenity universe, but in my own! I just need a system that works.

Ah, so you're appropriating the mechanics into your own setting? Neat. You'll have to let me know how that works out and if you end up taking any issues with the game system itself.
