Getting out of highschool is so good I can't even explain it. I can't do structured education, at all. I love learning things. I need to be able to pursue education on my own terms though.
Also, relationships! I am such a cynic. I think relationships and love and s**t are stupid things that totally lead people to ruin a vast majority of the time. Therefore I avoided them at all costs. And now I'm looking at a two year anniversary in roughly three weeks. And it is the best thing that ever happened to me.

yeah, high school sucked for me too, it was just a pile of s**t and relationships, in which you're truly happy are so nice. According to my family, they have never seen me as happy as I am with my boyfriend

I'm glad to hear that things are going so well for you. I'd been wondering what happened when you dropped off the radar, so it's good to hear that you're happy.

I really didn't mean to fall off here, I just kept getting busy and I didn't have time to get on here. And then when me and my boyfriend started dating I had even less time. He's been having fun introducing me to geeky things. I'm glad to hear things are going well for you too

Geeky things are the best things. Josh and I probably spend roughly half of our time together playing Magic or video games, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I understand that having a life keeps you from the internet, it's good that you have a life outside of ATG and all. Just keep in touch now and then. I try to do so myself, but it doesn't always work.

I'm actually trying to figure out a time to pop in here more often, I think I may be getting my schedule figure out in such a way that I can pop in here for a little while at least once a week.
Daniel is actually making it his mission right now to get me interested in Magic, he's pretty sure he can get me to cave about not wanting to play

Magic is one of my favourite games of all time. I played when I was much younger, but didn't really understand it until I convinced Josh he should play magic instead of YuGiOh. And now we both play semi-competitively.
Is he trying to get you to play in a particular format? some might work better for you than others.

He just wants me to play to try it out, a friend of ours wants me to play standard so that I can play in the drafts at the store. But he's just happy when more people are playing XD

The first time I played when I started getting into it again now was at a sealed launch event. Sealed is by far my favourite format, and I enjoy Standard. Drafts aren't my thing at all, though. Josh has a thing for EDH( aka Commander), which I like, but no one wants to play with me because I run a Skithiryx deck. I love Skittles, but everyone hates him in that format
I advise trying it out at the least. You might like it. And the cards are pretty! So pretty! Not to mention that the sets of cards are so diverse, you can probably find a play style that you really enjoy.

I've seen a lot of the cards and yeah, they're so amazing looking. I LOVE the art. It is a small part of what makes me curious about it

If there is ever a Star City Games Open near you, I'd advise going just to check things out. That way you could play in a draft or sealed side event if you wanted to, and would probably get to check out community stuff involved in Magic. The events I've been to have been really fun even when I didn't play in any of the official events.

Well there are events at Daniel's store all the time, and the community here is really nice, I'm friends with most of them so if I played I would probably play here. It'd probably make me a lot more comfortable.

Oh yeah, definitely the local, small events create a really nice environment. They're super fun, as long as the people aren't jerks. But the big events are sometimes pretty fun if you go with people you know. It's a lot like an anime convention in that sense. I'm probably going to the Grand Prix for a little while this weekend just to check it out, since it's run by Wizards instead of Star City, and I'm interested in the difference.
