Also funny enough, I read the wiki for Martyrs like last week (I stumbled across someone semi-raging over the news of a Hollywood remake with a less depressing ending).

Also funny enough, I read the wiki for Martyrs like last week (I stumbled across someone semi-raging over the news of a Hollywood remake with a less depressing ending). *high-fives* It sounds really gruesome. sweatdrop I get curious about the plot for these things, but it's not something I can stomach watching. I've always been pretty squeamish about violence. Knowing that's it's "just a movie" and no one's really being hurt doesn't really make me feel any better for some reason.

Ugh, I know what you mean. I don't mind blood and violence is fine as long as it's over-the-top/ridiculous enough. But a lot of times when I'm watching it'll be like I'm actually feeling it (and it doesn't have to be particularly gruesome sometimes either. I got squicked out to that point during that scene in Pan's Labyrinth when he's sewing up his face (I think it's mostly if it involves piercing or cutting or stuff like that)).

Yeah. I can't help but imagine how it would feel, to be the one on the receiving end of the...torture, or whatever it is that's happening. Makes it a lot less entertaining to watch. >.<

The thing is, it wasn't really sweatdrop Just a lot of stupid s**t while he alternated between playing Pokemon and Soul Calibur and I looked at things on the internet and ate Jello.
Also! Also, ohmygod. So I was looking through con pics and stuff last night and I think Spiderman is like the worst superhero to cosplay as if you have a p***s. THE WORST.

You know, I think A Serbian Film is one of the few films I will never have the stomach to watch. I mean, I love gore films. Gore films, horror films, psycho-thrillers... I'm all about it. I love the Cube movies. But the one just sounds like too much for me.

Cube movies?
We started Paranormal Activity, but I ended up nixing it about a half hour in and we watched The Others instead. The Others was very good and I'd recommend it. No gore in it either!
I prefer my horror movies psychological. I mean, some gore is okay... But I hate movies that are just for the gore. The first Saw movie was actually decent because it was more focused on whether the guy would cut off his leg to get free or not, but the sequels... Well, there's a reason I just borrowed the 2-3 I actually watched instead of paying for them sweatdrop But oh god, Old Boy! gonk I think my soul died watching that.
I didn't like Paranormal Activity with what I saw of it because... meh, the home movie format wasn't really working for me. Sure I jumped once, but... I dunno. My roommate loves it, but I wasn't getting into it. If anything, I was just getting angry at the guy for being stupid xp

I've heard various movies referred to as "torture porn". Some of the Saw movies, Hostel, Martyrs....
But A Serbian Film is ...well...literally torture porn. :s Ugh.
