I think I've seen the adverts for it over here, but I've not bothered watching it. I don't watch much TV any more. Much easier to watch the Anime I have saved on my HDD. biggrin

So I just got back from the Hunger Games movie. My work set up an early showing for employees (only 4 hours before the official midnight release, but whatever), and we got a discount on the tickets (and treats). It was really pretty good. ^^ Not like "omg profound", but I had a great time.

I liked the movie much more than the book. I think they made a good choice in changing some of the plot points. I know some people that saw it last night, Iwent because I was babysitting my sisters there, and were like "OH NO THEY CHANGED THE PIN." The chose to ignore the plot points that the author just sort of glossed over.
Also, I really like the style it was filmed in. Very aesthetically pleasing movie.

Celestial Burden I'm one of the only people I know that HATES this show. I must just be the exception though, because it's really popular. I'm not sure why it's on a children's network, because it definitely is not for kids. That's actually the reason I adore the show. It's ridiculous without talking down to the audience (also, it's one of few cartoons that actually gives a flying ******** about continuity). But to each their own.
I've yet to read The Hunger Games, but I'm ok with that since I probably won't be seeing the movie any time soon. Oh well. I'm reading A Storm of Swords so that keeps me happy.
Also, hi! Sorry I disappeared for a while. Stuffs.

I disappeared because Mass Effect and just...just. All my feels, you guys. All my feels. I cannot explain to you.So many tears have been shed. in terms of good books... Hm. Not TOO recent, but I really enjoyed The Night Circus. Not the most well written book, though certainly not the worst. I loved the concept and story, but sometimes things felt a little shaky and transparent.

I couldn't play ME3 over spring break *sadface* Maybe this summer...
I just finished up book 3 in A Song of Ice and Fire. I kinda loved it. (And I love that my dad got into the series too so we just trade off when we're done with a book).

I'm in the middle of reading Odin's Wolves by Giles Kristian. Which is silly, because it's book three and I haven't read books one and two. xd

I think the only series I read out of order was the His Dark Materials trilogy when I was younger. x3 It made things a bit confusing, but ultimately it didn't matter.

I don't remember now what the series was, but I would recognize it if I saw the books again, but I read something or another out of order in middle school because I picked up volume 2 from the library and was halfway through it before I realized it was part of a series. I went back and read it in order, and I was still confused when I reached the end though xp
Good books I've read recently? Well, most of what I've been reading has been for class. But I recently read The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin, which was quite enjoyable (let's just ignore the fact I'll be writing a final paper over it).
As to where I've been the last few weeks? Spring break was full of me running everywhere to try to see everyone before having to return to school, where I've spent the next couple of weeks writing a paper and doing all sorts of other work. I only have about a month more left, so I'm going to have so much more stuff to do in the next few weeks. Fortunately it looks like my finals are all at the beginning of finals week, so I can go home early and be home in time to see the Avengers movie come out? surprised

Wicked (again, it's been years), Son of a Witch, and now A Lion Among Men, all of which are excellent... smile
