It's pretty much healed now, but I haven't had chance to get a good picture of it yet

Yay healing tattoos!

I was explaining suspension to some of my friends today and... yep, everyone else was grossed out. I guess that being suspended by piercings isn't a topic that should be brought up within a certain time around a meal? ^.^;

*crawls in* Hey guys...

Ah, explaining fetishes/kinks/alt. sexuality to people is always a hit or miss experience. I keep forgetting that people don't just already know a decent amount about things other than straight, missionary sex because I mean, the internet is a thing after all. So when I try to talk to/tell people about general BDSM culture, I usually end up teaching a crash course in the social aspects of it.

With the popularity of 50 Shades of Grey, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people are doing their own googling about BDSM. It's never appealed to me, but I have got to say that it kills me that so many people are being introduced to the idea of kink by such a terrible trilogy of books. xp

I kind of want to read 50 Shades of Grey just to see how terrible it is... But at the same time, I'd rather read well written BDSM.

You can give me a crash course in BDSM culture anytime, Celes! biggrin

I'm going to be meeting up with this guy from my Japanese class to study together tomorrow. I hope it goes well, because I kinda want to get to know him better =x

I HAVE read it, and..oh Gods. Terrible, and enraging. It's seriously a bunch of the author's personal sex fantasies poorly strung together by a plot involving an abusive relationship. She portrays being a Dom as something that people do because of psychological issues and serious emotional trauma.

It's Twilight, for Mommies. Or something. xp

Yeah. I'll get around to reading it when I have some free time and a library to check it out from. Because, you know... I refuse to pay money for it?
And yeah, I've already read several different things from different people about how horrible the book is. Like the glorifying abusive relationships, pathetic female character, and BDSM portrayal fail. I was even reading a person blogging about the book while they read it, which was amusing. It went between sarcasm and "oh dear god, why am I still reading this?"

All the girls at work were reading it. There's apparently a scene with a tampon and... emotion_facepalm

Anyway. Not my cup of tea.

Back in university, a couple of friends and I all read Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty books. Those also weren't really my kinda thing, but at least they were better written. xd

Sexy tampons? Oh god burning_eyes

The way I made friends with one of the people I know is a strange tale. We decided to find the campus library so we knew where it was and ended up cruising the stacks for a bit. She pointed at "Philosophy in the Bedroom" and laughed because she thought the title was funny. We then picked that and a few other books by the good Marquis de Sade (I spell French wrong if I want!) and proceeded to flip through them and share bits of trauma. Now we share that bond created by both witnessing something horrible?
I knew who the Marquis was before reading any of it. She didn't. I'm not sure if I should be sorry for that day or not xp

No Jaft. Just... no. I think that one made a part of me die.

So... I'm going to go to auditions to try to get into an improv group today. I'll tell you guys how that went later. Then I'll work on homework I guess. Trying to get people to fill out a survey for me for a class. The one respondent I have so far doesn't count because I forgot to ask him if he's from Indiana before giving him the survey and he's from Massachusetts so his responses are not what we're looking for for this assignment. Oops! But I learned a lot about this guy. Way to creep, Cassie. Way to creep! sweatdrop

Way to make me feel like more of a creep, Jaft razz

I didn't make it to call backs. They might have auditions again in the spring, though. I don't know if I would have had time to do the whole improv thing with the class load I have this semester anyways *sigh*
