C'mric gave Orthoth a fond, solid thump against the foreleg with his knuckles once they'd finished their rotation. "Let's g-get you rubbed down. Then I'm having a drink."

They weren't always so lucky. Today had been a very good day, and they woule take it. They'd take as many days like this one as they could collect, to make up for the inevitable days when they weren't quite so lucky.

Now and then Bhavarannth still complained of an ache in his wings from the last set of nasty injuries he'd taken, particularly as the weather had gotten cold. Fortunately, today, all was well and the pair made it safely home to a nice, warm rest.

Shaffit, shaffit shaffit! N'kin couldn't say where his mind had been. Obviously not where it should have been. Things could have been much worse, so, while his shoulder was going to keep him a Mood for several days, he'd survived. They'd both survived and that was what mattered. If he was under extra scrutiny for a while, he'd survive that too.

Of course they'd had a good run fighting Thread. They weren't going to let the Enemy win, not any time soon, thank you. Anneke laid her cheek against Uluth's neck and gave her as much of a hug as she could manage before beginning to undo her straps.

They'd done their jobs. They'd helped to keep Pern safe, made sure their wingmates made it home, and survived without hurting themselves too. What more could they ask for, other thna more days without Thread.

Just because they'd made it through without any damage didn't mean that everyone had. Aedeth was content with her own success, but still willingly accompanied Niobet as she went to check on those who hadn't fared as well.
