Farellen chuckled "Fair" and tilted his head just a little, the nervous, tiny green found Hers, that was good "such a delicate little flower" he murmured, "I bet we'll btoh Impress, you'll get that bronze, maybe i'll get a blue" he said, nudging his new friend with his elbow.

VEIKEL

Veikel raised an eyebrow at Bekah's comments. "You used diluted redwort? Why?" And did she just say she wasn't properly trained to sew wounds closed? He tried to study her face, to see if he recalled seeing her at the healer hall. Anyone who was a senior in rank would be there to train, so this obvious lack of knowledge was.....a little unsettling. Thank Faranth he was the one to hear it and not Tristram or else who knows what could have and would have been said to her. Naturally there would be something said later, but for now he could only wonder things on his own. A clearing of his throat and a shake of his head had him moving on, and again he winked at the reddening Rykin. "Good to see you're able to speak and that nothing hurts for you, cutie."

A lack of obvious internal injury was wonderful as Veikel didn't want to have to cut him open and attempt to drain blood. He was already counting in his mind to prevent dry heaving, after all. "Bekah, can you go prepare some sutures for me, dipped in non-diluted redwort?"

Serfie backpedalled so fast as the greens charged, she tripped on the hem of her robes and landed hard on the hot sands, throwing her arm up as a stray wingtip was near her face, instead it hit her on the wrist and she yelped, holding it into her body, that HURT. .... her heart pounded so hard she thought it was going to fly out of her chest, even as she knew it wasn't physically possible... she would not cry.. she would not cry..... SHAFFIT .... she just about held onto her emotions now, panic would do no one any good.

Rio

Oh. Oh dear. Those greens were coming for the candidates fast - blue-eyed rather than red, but that didn't do much to dampen the risks. Rowdy could be almost as dangerous as angry, however unintentional the harm might be.

"Look out!" Getting fully out of the way was out of the question - impossible, really, with Mint Chocolate Chip aiming right for them! There was no outrunning the hatchling or her intent, and down Rio went, rather ungracefully.

FISHER

Wait oh shel- "hrnnkkkkk." There was no time to properly react before Fisher felt her leg get knocked out beneath her in a weird dragonet game of charge. The teen didn't have the grace to catch herself, she wasn't some wisp like most of these scrawny candidates, and she went down hard on her side onto the hot sands. The weird grunt had come from her impact, one that threatened to knock the air from her lungs.

"Ughgnnhgnn." Fisher groaned as she rolled off her side and onto her back, pulling in lungfuls of air before she attempted to quickly get back up. Her leg was throbbing, as were her ribs and elbow from the impact, but other than some heat rash from the sands she was likely uninjured. Sometimes having literal thick skin saved lives. "F....faran....shells and shards." A grunt had her on her feet, still groaning, and she looked over at the kid who'd been with. Small thing, took a nasty hit. "You 'kay there, kid?"

Bekah flushed, she was still learning after all, Senior or not there were still things she had to learn, which was the main reason she had backed off and deferred to the Journeyman Healer, rather than try and argue over Rykin being her patient. "A diluted wash is safer in an emergency than the pure thing" she answered, or so she'd been taught, biting back a retort at the tone in his voice. "I've been taught to stitch smaller wounds, not deep ones like this" she added before turning to leave. And she would have, had he not asked for supplies, which she was happy to do, frustrated, she tried so hard to get herself together under pressure. She used the time it took to retrieve what Vekiel asked for, to calm herself down, think like a Healer.. not a teen..., her hands had been freshly cleaned with Redwort as she brought over the supplies. "Here Vekiel" she said, holding the items out to him "Do you need anymore assistance?" she asked, trying to do her job, to do what she was supposed to.... which was learn the proper procedures.

Cuzon: Candidate: Western

The young lean man was not perturbed when the girl grabbed his hand. Though he did glance in mild surprise at the missing fingers, it showed itself in a brief raise of one brow. He couldn't judge her for what trouble she had gotten into before. He was too new to the weyr to even have heard about it. But he wasn't the type to hold past mistakes against people anyway.

"Name's Cuzon. This is my first hatching." He told her to try and keep her mind off the patches of blood that were still sinking into the sand.

At least things had calmed down a bit. Dragons had started to impress left and right and the ones replacing them showed less of their earlier siblings violent tendencies.

He chuckled when he followed Helane's eyes to the gold. "Well someone likes her new bronze brother." he muttered. Stepping lighting to the side again with lazy grace to avoid the green girl that seemed so determined to topple his fellows like pins in a game. He kept hold of Helane's hand to drag her along.

Zarsteyr
Zarsteyr laughed, nudging Far right back. "You're right, we're both going to Impress, but I'm definitely greenrider material." He said it proudly. His parents had both ridden green, and the greens had been so lovely. While Zarsteyr didn't like to think too much about his parents, green had always been his favorite color, and with so many passionate and fierce greens, it might as well be today.

As Zar watched the hatchlings, he was surprised to see a mysterious, hidden egg emerge, and even more surprised when the two greens threw themselves at the candidates, glee in their eyes. He quirked an eyebrow. "Lively, huh?" No one seemed too hurt, though, so it was a welcome change from the prior violence.

Serfie winced at the pain in her wrist, frustrated with herself with almost letting her emotions loose too. She snapped her head around, perhaps a little too fast for the heat of the Sands, at Fisher, and was ashamed at the fact she felt a little dizzy, meaning she would have to wait until it passed before she got up. "uh...yeah..." she said, guarded, "Wingtip cracked my wrist"she said simply. Taking deep breaths to try and help the dizziness pass quickly.

Helane grinned, if you didn't know her well, it was quite alarming at first, something about her eyes bordering on making her look a little crazed. "Hazards of fishing line, strong fish and strong winds" she explained when she noticed the raised brow.

"Helane!" she said, fighting to keep her volume to an acceptable level, "not my first rodeo but they're never the same, so each one is brand new" she added, aiming for a reassuring tone.

She stepped out of the way of the bowlingball green with Cuzon, following his gaze to the gold "oooh she's smitten, seen that look on a lovestruck woman more than once whenever the strong, young, fishermen came ashore with their catch. She had yet to get those looks her way, or find anyone to throw those kinds of looks to, but she didn't worry about it.

Farellen smiled "Greens, Golds, all colours between, any dragon is the perfect dragon right?" he said, being totally honest, he had no ambitions beyond Impressing A dragon, any dragon.... or rather, hoping a dragon found him worth Impressing to. "Definitely lively!" he added, amused with the greens, wincing as a couple of girls got knocked down though. "ouch, bet that hurt" he said to Zar.

FISHER

"Hm." Carefully, Fisher didn't really wait as she bent down and scooped the smaller teen up from the sands and held her in her arms. It was what could be called a Lady Holder hold, like a knight or lord would carry their beloved from place to place. It likely looked a little weird out on the sands with dragonets wandering around but it was the easiest way to get her up considering how dizzy she looked. "Aight, here we go." Slowly she shifted so Serfie could slide her legs down and stand properly, though Fisher's large hands would stay on her shoulders to keep her from falling over. "Safer to be standin'. Lean'on me if you're dizzy, mmkay?"

The dragonets were likely to make a return if they wanted to play and Fisher could sweep this kid off her feet again if needed. The fisher wouldn't be taken by surprise twice and was certain she could plant her feet.

Serfie didn't even have time to argue when the larger girl literally picked her up and held her steady as she stood, recovering quickly from the dizziness but had reached out her hand, thankfully not the one with the injured wrist, to keep hold of the girl for a few heartbeats longer. She'd been so surprised by the action, there was none of her usual fight or fight response. "th...thanks" she said, only letting go when she was sure she was balanced, her injured wrist throbbing but she held it close into her body, keeping it still. hopefully just badly bruised rather than broken but the swelling was already starting, she'd been hurt worse, much worse, in the past so this, was fine. as long as she kept it still, it didn't hurt that much.....

The fierce Blue and Black Rosette green stared hard at her sister, watching her wilt before her. For a long moment the dragon held her stance before folding her wings, like a knight sheathing their sword. Leaning forward, she rubbed her head affectionately against Blue and Purple Paint green, attempting to diffuse the tension.

I don't hate you. No one hates you. But you must check that temper, sisterMine. Now come--let me accompany you so you might find Yours and feel all the better for it. She glanced approvingly over at where Felisath stood staring up at Hers, and her other golden sister.

The green's tail twitched as she watched Bone Green continue her tantrum--perhaps she'd need a word with her next? Or perhaps it was time to find Hers?

Rasthell:
One minute he was standing with Rio and Nuamia, the next a green was upon them! While the young man had thought he could get out of the way in time, he found that he'd failed, utterly and completely. Down he want, just like a pin, and he gave a grunt as hot sand kicked up. They might have been babies, but they were still terribly strong.

"Y'all right?" He asked, after Mint Chocolate Chip had moved on. If felling them had been the intention, she'd done a beautiful job. "We need you in one piece, else your ladies are gonna kill me." He shrugged himself back to his feet, before offering Rio a hand to help pull him off, and dust him off. "What about you?" He looked over at the other, Nuamia, hoping she was all right, and ready to help her up as well.

This group was a spirited lot, certainly!

Vesden | High Reaches | He/Him

Yes, they had gotten off to a bad start, but things were really rolling now. Aside from a couple of greens who were clearly playing, and bone who was still upset from before, it seemed like things had calmed. Watching the commotion on the sands, Vesden finally had time to assess the situation.

He was still sad about the death, but he had handled it better than he'd thought he would when the possibility of it had been drilled into their heads. After that first threadfall, he'd privately thought there was one of two ways he'd react to seeing someone die on the sands, and he was relieved that he'd maintained a good level of detachment when faced with the reality of the situation he'd dreaded.

There were a lot of dragons on the sands now, but the crowd was slowly thinning as the hatchlings impressed. There were an awful lot of greens, and he had just noticed the blue spotted egg had hatched a beautiful bronze. He regretted not noticing that, he'd been waiting for that one but his attention had probably been on avoiding a mauling. He silently wished the little bronze a belated welcome to the world and good luck finding his match, and encouraged bone and the gay flag blue and his twin while he was at it. He should probably be getting friendly with all these babies, if only to make this easier on them, but there were so many...

Zarsteyr
Any dragon was the perfect dragon. "Agreed. I've got a fondness for the little ladies, though." He stretched a bit, shifting from foot to foot. The sand was getting hot, and the hatching had calmed down some, which was good. A green encouraged the other to find hers, so hopefully they would continue to Impress without as much trouble. "A few bumps and bruises, maybe, but after all that other stuff...it's almost a relief." He wanted to ask if Far thought that things would continue to be calmer, relatively, or if they would get keyed up again. He hoped nothing else happened, that no one else died...but these two greens seemed more energetic and eager than anything else, just a bit...misguided, maybe.
