2. Your dragon begins to be blown out of position, but fights it by giving a few powerful flaps of their wings. There. No one noticed anything out of place.

3. Your dragon is blown out of formation. They struggle and flap against the wind, and only are able to recover when the wind dies down, feeling more exhausted than before. Worse, you think they may have pulled a muscles in their wing arm! Best watch it. [Light Damage -1 HP ]

4. Whoops! Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, though it's unclear if your Wingleader has noticed or not. Either way, your dragon is just spent. Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect or Bitten Tongue) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.)

S'del reached in to give Kindeth some stone while it was quiet... only to find an empty bag. Had he gone through so much already? Well, that was why they had help. Can you let them know we need a new bag?

Kindeth rumbled, and reached out to the riders below. A little help please! I'm all out. Be careful coming up though! He sent waves of encouragement to his fellow riders, hoping one might assist. Nevermind that it was their job.

S'del gave the bluepair a wave in gratitude as they delivered the stone. He made quick work to secure it to Kindeth's riding straps, before tossing a few pieces into his mount's open jaws.

Retired NPC J'tugo and blue Losalmuth
Firestone Run for S'del and Kindeth!

Another pair called for stone, and in spite of their dubious success on previous runs thus far, J'tugo and Losalmuth were undeterred, and sallied forth to make the delivery! This time, it wasn't a fellow blue in need, but a bronze...which meant they really needed to get it right this time! Luckily, the conditions were kinder, and without Losalmuth being gusted about by the wind, J'tugo was able to throw the sack of firestone just as it ought to be thrown.

With their stone replenished, Kindeth continued to flame and fight. It was far less heavy down here, and the Thread was broken up into patches and strands--no less deadly, but giving them a little more room to breathe.

He hoped Oyath and Silmarath and others were doing well. He hoped no more of his wingmates took a fall or ... worse.

On they fought, and the bronze dragon found himself facing down a few tangles of silver stuff. With a great snarl, he flamed the three, threatening patches--watching with satisfaction as they burned. You won't hurt my friends today! He scolded them with certainty as he flew past, eyes whirling red.

Once again, there was a moment's quiet and the great bronze dragon threw a few more pieces into Kindeth's waiting jaws. Think of that second stomach...It's not a snack. S'del gently reminded his bronze, who periodically needed the reminder.

Firestone wasn't a good snack, even if the big bronze was getting kind of hungry.

Trying to focus a bit more, Mi'ra spotted a stray strand of Thread worming its way through the sky. Remi banked to head towards it, burning it down with an expertly placed flame. Mi'ra gave a little whoop of delight, rubbing the white's neck fondly as they flew back into formation.

1. Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]

Taking more firestone from his sack, Mi'ra tossed it to Remi as they flew. They had to bank hard to avoid one of their wingmates coming in hot after some Thread and the distraction was enough to make Remi bite down on his tongue. The pain flooded Mi'ra mouth as well and he groaned in agony - it felt like his tongue had been ripped right out of his mouth!

"Remi, you all right?" he called, his words a little slurred. His dragon gave a grunt in reply, the pain and taste of ichor too distracting to give a verbal response.

13. Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]

The pain was excruciating and even Mi'ra was having a hard time concentrating. Thankfully Remi was more on his game and he spotted a clump of Thread drifting their way. He gave a rather angry snarl before flaming it down - maybe his sister had rubbed off a bit on him - and Mi'ra gave a low whistle at how far he'd managed to reach.

They had a moment to catch their breath, thankfully. Remi was irritated by the throbbing in his mouth and Mi'ra was quietly moaning on his back due to the shared pain. It really wasn't that bad, but Mi'ra always made mountains out of molehills.

I Need Some Firestone!


A weyrling can quote you and roll from the Weyrling Table to see what happens! If there are no PC weyrlings, feel free to play a semi-retired rider helping out and play out the scene or ping staff for an NPC assist!

It was only a matter of time before Mereketh and H'sau would need mor firestone. Mereketh called down to those waiting to deliver fresh bags, and Kvenja roused Ophoreth to make the delivery again.

This time, the flying wasn't as easy, and the already-scarred brown was hit by a fresh clump of Thread. Kvenja threw the bag with remarkable aim, easily caught by H'sau, before the brown pair binked ]i]Between to get rid of the thing that wanted to devour them.

A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP! If a Wingsecond you actually are on top of things today! You're here to look out for your wingmates and your Wingleader, and in this case, you manage to do both! Quote your Wingleader, fellow Wingsecond, or Wingrider and nullify any negative effects & negative HP from their most recent roll! This can include Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls!
