It would be easy to get used to having a good day despite Thread. Easy, but not reasonable, because things could change on a quartermark up there. So, Niobet would spoil Aedeth a little, maybe spoil herself as well, and then get back to work.

C'mric was a little achy, but all things considered, he could only be grateful that he and Orthorh were unscarred and otherwise healthy. A good day was a good day and that was what mattered.

Z'rai accepted the thanks and the 'atta boys' from his wingmates, then set to work on getting himself and Kaloth cleaned up. Mayvbe he would go share a drink with some of them after all.

It was a feat. It was a fantastic moment. Bhavaranth was already composing an ode to himself in his head. It was true that they'd gotten very lucky and managed to help a wingmate out of a very bad situation, but odes were probably unnecessary. Still, he'd let the ecstatic blue bask for a while longer.

Mereketh was a white, and he'd chosen H'sau. In some people's eyes, that made them Less Than. And yet, if Mereketh and H'saui had not been in the sky today, another "more valuable" pair might have been lost.

Funny how these things happened.

At the end of a long sevenday, it was good to have done some, well, good. En'cai was proud of the job they'd done. Spurth was satisfied. They would sleep well.

No. That line of thinking wasn't going to keep the blue calm, and that was most important now, as the dragonhealers stitched tended his leg.

There was no fault to lay, no fingers to point. Winds played havoc with Thread and those who fought it.

But it should have been him!

Smug. They were smug. Anneke knew better than to take it to heart or let it go to her head, but for a moment, maybe for the rest of the day, she was going to be smug. Who needed to be big hulking beast? Let's hear it for the littles!
