heheeh
So, a monestary's bell ringer passed away after a long illness, and none of the brothers wanted to take his job, so they posted an ad for a new bell ringer. The only applicant for weeks was an old hunchbacked man. The Father of the monestary was a bit concerned for the old man, and asked if he could do the job. "Sure!" came the reply. "Let me show you!"
So, they climbed the stairs to the bell tower, and the Father pointed out the bell's rope. "I won't need that," said the hunch-backed applicant. Having said that, he stepped back and took a run at the bell, striking it with his skull. The father was shocked, and just stood staring as the applicant took two more passes at the bell. On the third pass, the old hunchback missed the bell and flew out of the bell tower to his death.
The monks were all shocked, and one of the brothers asked who this man was.
"I don't know," said the Father, "But his face sure rings a bell."
As their only applicant to date had died by flying out of the tower, the father kept the ad in the local paper. After a couple more weeks had passed, the Father opened his office door to find what seeemed a ghost standing outside. "I'm here for the bell-ringing position!" the old man said brightly.
"But, ah, aren't you *dead*?" The father asked the hunchbacked man standing in front of him.
"Oh, no, that was my twin brother. He had some balance issues."
"Oh. Well, ah, I guess the job's yours if you want it. Would you like to try it out?"
"Sure!" the man replied, and they headed up to the tower.
Once there, the man went after the bell in the same fashion as his brother had, and likewise on the third pass went sailing out of the tower, also to his death.
Once again, the monestary's members were gathered around a hunchbacked corpse, and once again, the father was asked for the man's identity.
"I don't know who he was,", the Father answered, "But he's a dead ringer for his brother."
