"The churches didn't close back in the Middle Ages during the plague. So, why should they close now?"
Uh... maybe because back then, people didn't understand the concept of illnesses and viruses as well as they do now. They just thought it was the gods angry at them or some curse upon them. So, they continued on living in their unclean, crowded ways... and thus the huge numbers of deaths. rolleyes

The residents are frustrated with this phased reopening business. They are having a hard time understanding that despite other places opening up (i.e. stores, churches, etc.), assisted livings and other similar facilities will not be open until the very end of the reopening - thus none of the residents can go out at this time to do their usual activities.
Although I've tried explaining to them the reasons why and they indicate they understand the reasoning, they still grumble about everything. And not quietly either - like the conversation I just overheard. Like... I'm right here. I can here you. Do you think you're being clever about complaining? It's not my rules; it's the health department and county's rules. So stop making us out to be the bad guys when we're just doing what we're told. AND TRYING TO KEEP YOU SAFE AND HEALTHY!

Ugh... yeah... definitely feeling low right now. Getting that "whatever" thought again... and just this invisible weight on top of me. *sighs*
Three more hours left of my shift.

I heard a bunch of cars honking outside and I had to go check what the situation was outside (out of concern for the residents - as we have had rioters come close to our facility in the past). The protestors were passing by crossing the street at the end of the block and cars were honking in response to them. Thankfully it all looked peaceful as they passed by.

Two hours until the end of my shift.
And my friend is doing her gaming stream tonight, so that'll help lift up my spirits. 3nodding
