Thursday my co-worker asked if I could meet up with her to help with the resident shopping. So, while she took of the grocery part, I took care of the clothing portion. It wasn't too bad except some of the items people were asking for (i.e. tank tops, shorts) were already starting to fade out of season. I managed to get everyone's requests... but it certainly was challenging for some.
Since I followed my co-worker back to work to help unload everything, I decided to go to the comic book nearby to pick up the "Negan Lives" special one-off comic. I also picked up a few other Walking Dead comics (the hardbook version of Here's Negan, issue #100 of TWD [where Negan makes his first appearance], a issue #192 signed by Robert Kirkman, and TWD Survivor's Guide [essentially a who's who 4 comic series up to the events with the Governor]). Oh, and I got the two Walking Dead pins - the logo and Negan's face.

Should I ever get to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in person, I'll have him sign the Negan Lives comic. I figured I would do that one since he had been selling comics through his own local comic store with his signature ((unfortunately, they kept selling out, so I couldn't get it through there)).

The comic book store by my work is the only local one to me now. There had been one just a ways from where I'm living now... but that closed up a few years ago. And of course there's a bunch across the river - but I'm not really in the mood to drive over in that area right now with everything that's been going on protest wise.

Not that I have anything negative to say about the comic book store by my work. I absolutely love the place. I've come away with so many great comics and goodies from them the past few times I've been there. And the staff has been so nice, courteous, and helpful during the times I've asked about certain items they might have (i.e. they helped me get the hardbook version of Here's Negan because I didn't see it with the rest of their TWD hardbook comic section).
I guess with current events I don't always want to make such "lengthy" drives outside of my usual route when I don't need to. So, I think that's why I was delighted that my unexpected plans for Thursday ended up allowing me to make a day of different errands over in that direction. Get some extra hours helping with resident shopping and then go get the comics I wanted.

Anyway, I absolutely love the comics I got. It's neat to not only see the comic version of Negan in comparison to the TV series version, but to see how they've expanded his story - both prior to the zombie outbreak and after his last appearance in the TWD comics.
I just got to give props to the TV writers for doing such a great job of interpreting Negan's first appearance in the TWD series. And, of course, Jeffrey Dean Morgan for doing a fabulous job portraying the character. He was an excellent casting choice - being able to pull off both the sweet, charming side and the dark, troubled side with a hint of humor.
