"No thanks. I'm too nervous to eat." She returned to pacing, looking like she was trying to wear a trench in the floor. Ten long minutes later, a nurse came into the waiting room and called Aria's name. She looked up and was at the nurse's side in an instant. The nurse smiled reassuringly. "Your grandfather's going to be just fine, there's no permanent damage. He's sleeping right now and we want to keep him here for a few days just be on the safe side. Other than that, he's fine." Aria grinned brightly before turning to Mac. "He's going to be okay!" Her sea green eyes sparkled with happiness at the good news. Tianara, noticing the look on his face, smiled a little bit. "I'm sure they won't mind," she said quietly, swimming along beside him with the ease that most associated with walking. "I think Sorry wanted to talk to Mother privately for a bit, anyway."
In truth, she knew no such thing, but didn't think it would hurt. It was likely that Katalina would take the opportunity to speak to Tianara's mother, find out about how Clirani and the girls' mother was doing, and ask the sort of questions about Adamantia's health that she couldn't with Tianara around.
So the girl was perfectly content to go slowly and let Katalina find it all out. That way, she could beg, annoy and nag the answers out of Sorry later, without further upsetting her own mother.

He glanced around as they swam, this time without the absent look of contemplation. "Where are we going anyways?" His amber gaze flickered back to Tianara curiously. She would know better than he would.

Joshua's hopes were dashed, however, when Tianara merely shrugged. "Wherever they went," she replied amiably. "I'm just following them." Although she hadn't been watching to see where they went, she seemed perfectly confident in where she was going. Perhaps she could still feel some kind of connection.
After a while, she frowned to herself. "We seem to be heading back towards the storage rooms. I wonder..." Then she trailed off, understanding coming across her face. "Addy's family caverns are near there," she said at last, softly. "Maybe we ought to wait a little longer."

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua sighed as she shrugged. He'd hoped she would have some idea of where they were going. Though he wondered how she knew where she was going if she hadn't seen them. Then he dismissed it as one of the odd little quirks of the merfolk and those they raised.
When she spoke again, he had to think for a second as it didn't click right away who she meant by Addy. His amber eyes widened, then softened as it clicked. "Oh.....Yeah, maybe we should wait a little bit longer." He slowed to a stop, glancing ahead. He felt a wave of sympathy for the merfolk who'd all been hurt by this accident. Tianara hesitated. Now that she'd suggested it, she wasn't too sure what to say or do while they...found other places to be. But she knew it was the only possible thing to do.
"So...what do you want to do?" she asked hesitantly.

Mac smiled knowing that Allen was alright. He knew Aria was slightly eased as well. "Do you want to see him? They said he's sleeping, but if you want to be able to see him yourself, then go ahead" he told her with care.
Mike made his way back up the hill to his home. It was surrounded by forest in the back, and the front had a nice view of the town and ocean. He opened the door and walked in, closing the door behind him. His house was and always will be secure, and he knew his haven was there if anything would happen. He walked into his bedroom and opened a cabinet with shelves of potions and other items. He pocketed about 5 small healing potion vials that held no more than a tea spoon worth of liquid each. He also pocketed 3 crystals that held power in them. Upon leaving, he also took 2 pendants with small vials of special water in them, "I need this in case we go places with no phones" he said quietly to himself. Mike had prepared a little for anything that comes his way. He then proceeded to rush out of the door and proceed to the Hospital.

Joshua was quiet for a minute, sorting through his thoughts. What did he want to do? There was just so many possibilities......Finally, he glanced up at Tianara, almost shyly. He spoke hesitantly, afraid of offending her. "Could I.....see your home cavern?" He wasn't sure that was the right term to use to describe it, but it was the best he could come up with. He was curious to see more about how the merfolk live, especially those that raised humans within their home.
Aria nodded happily. She seemed much more like herself with the news that Allen would be okay. She hummed cheerfully, practically skipping as she followed the nurse's instructions. It wasn't long before she found the room and peered inside carefully. Satisfied that he was indeed asleep, she slipped inside quietly, moving to stand by his bed. He looked much better now, not so pale and not covered in blood. It was easy to believe he would be fine. Aria sighed in relief, murmuring quietly to herself. "I'm so glad. Now I won't be alone." ((OOC: DO EET. PEER PRESSURE. XP Fear not, Lucky, you made a spectacular choice.))
Tianara glanced back at him, a little bit surprised. "Well, I...sure. I mean, I don't see why not," she said softly, looking uncertain. "I...well. Yes. Come on, it's this way."
She sank into reverie as she led him confidently through the caverns. If Joshua were feeling observant, however, he might notice that ever since he'd asked to see the home caverns, Tianara had gotten slightly tense - not obvious, but noticeably through her body.
As she moved through the twists and turns, she often stopped briefly to speak to another of the merfolk - there were several of them moving through. Some shot Joshua glances before moving on. Finally, they stopped in front of a cavern entrance that looked no different from all the ones Tianara had so casually passed by.
"This one," she said, "is the entrance to ours."
She listened, as though hoping she would hear something. Or maybe...not hear something.
Apparently satisfied, she turned to smile at Joshua. "Come in."

Joshua wondered if there was something she didn't want him to see. She seemed hesitant to show him, almost.....nervous? Tense? He wasn't sure what it was, but something felt just slightly off as he followed Tianara. As they swam, he shifted uneasily when she stopped to talk to someone. The looks they were shooting him were making him nervous. He never had liked people watching him like that.
So he was grateful when they stopped in front of a cavern. He waited as she listened, wondering what she was listening for. As she invited him in, he suddenly turned shy. "Are you sure it's alright? I don't want to intrude...." He wondered if that was why she seemed slightly tense. Or was it something else? Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

Tianara glanced back at him. "No, it should be--"
"Tianara? Odieana trasin cua dimle?" came a voice from inside. Tianara flinched back and shifted as though to block Joshua. A merman, looking to be about Nezik's age, came barreling out of the cavern. He seemed at least tolerant at first, but his expression shifted and became stony when he noticed Joshua. "Tianara," he said flatly. "What are you doing?"
Tianara, nervous as she evidently was, stumbled a bit over the introduction. "Mrian, this is Joshua, he..."
"I know what he is," the male cut her off flatly, turning that dark stare on Joshua. "How could you think to bring him here, Tianara? After what's just happened, and you bring a human amongst our own - I know you are young, but even you must know better."
Tianara took these words with her head down and her gaze on the ocean floor. She looked like a puppy that has stopped even trying to understand why its masters are beating it. "Mrian..." she pleaded softly. "What's happened was an accident. He--"
"Tianara," snapped Mrian. "Hush." As the girl fell silent, Mrian glanced back at Joshua, and a sort of cool disgust was in his expression. "Take your human out of here. He doesn't belong in our caverns." Not waiting to see if the girl did as told or not, the merman swept past them and vanished down the hall.

He shivered as the dark star turned on him. He was speechless in face of such antagonism. Not even Narcis treated him like this! Narcis at least had the courtesy to address Joshua personally, however coolly it might be. He opened his mouth to say something, but Mrian had already disappeared down the hall.
Sighing, he turned to Tianara. "Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later." He tried to make light of the confrontation, trying to smile. It didn't quite reach his eyes though. It hurt, to have one of the merfolk treat him like that but he knew it wasn't Tianara's fault. "Not every one will like me I suppose. Plenty of humans don't, so why should this be any different?" Tianara merely looked away, shivering a little bit - again, something like a kicked puppy. After a moment of uncomfortable silence, she said softly, "It isn't you, Joshua. He would have been like that no matter who I'd brought. Mrian..." She fell silent again briefly, then made herself finish the sentence. "Mrian is my mother's son, and he doesn't like humans very much at all. He particularly dislikes Kiro and I...I suppose because we're humans he had to live with every day."
She looked tentatively over her shoulder the way that the merman had gone. "I don't think he'll be coming back for a while," she said softly. "Come on, I'll show you around. And we can be gone before he gets back." It was obvious that she was terrified of the merman who had just left them.
Gesturing, she went inside, not without a quick final look over her shoulder as she made sure Mrian wasn't returning. What she didn't have the heart to tell Joshua was that she had four merfolk brothers, and all of them were pretty much like Mrian - only Kistad was kind, and then only when he was in a good mood.
With merfolk like that, the sort who would jump at a war, Tianara was even more afraid that trying to prevent it wouldn't work.

Shadow Hunter, Silent Hunter The forest is yours alone Night Hunter, Quiet Hunter None disturb your hunt Joshua felt his heart clench at Tianara's kicked puppy attitude. No one should have to look that scared of someone who was supposed to be family. It made him feel both sad and angry at the same time. It was too bad she had to live with such hostility just because of what she was.
With a sigh and a final look over his shoulder - Joshua didn't fancy another meeting with the merman either - he followed Tianara in. He tried to forget about the cold dark stare and instead focused on looking around. His undeniable curiosity swelled up again, questions filling his mind. Tianara glanced back at him and managed a weak smile. She was trying to concentrate on blocking Mrian's anger out of her mind and instead focusing on Joshua's questions. "You look like you're about to burst," she said softly, trying to find the carefree feeling she'd had before they'd come to the caverns. Before the run-in with Mrian and the knowledge of what had happened to Adamantia.
"What do you want to know?"
She was looking around herself. The cavern might have looked just like any other from the outside, but inside it was entirely different, made warm and rather homelike by the addition of bright shells and stones and multicoloured objects. There didn't appear to be anything like beds, although there was a pile of kelp-like stuff in the corner that looked like it might have once served as somewhere to sleep. Otherwise, there were only some protrusions of rock.
Tianara smiled a little bit, looking around. Mrian's behaviour aside, and her bad memories of same, this was her home. She was happy to see it again.
