Mini RP - Kanto Badge Run (Reno)

Collapsing as the memories began to course through his mind, Reno was unable to even notice as Nova smote out of the air by the blast of Future Sight . The Volcarona would collapse much like her Trainer, unmoving for the time. Remembering killing his father, his idiotic stunt to get more good, the assault on the mansion, and the events surrounding that meteorite fragment, Reno eventually locked the flood onto one memory to torment him. The meteorite invading his mind. "Y'know somethin'? I'm used to this sort of a hostile takeover. And I know it gives you a two-way connection." Reno forced out of his mouth, taking in ragged breaths before roaring in response. The control would attempt to shaken free of at the same time as Reno attempted to force a stranger thought into Sabrina's mind. An irritatingly memorable nursery rhyme from nearly everyone's childhood involving mice and clocks.

Taking advantage of the small amount of freedom he would possess for even attempting to struggle out of the mental lock, he tapped on the floor and watched as Nova shook herself into flying before opening her wings wide. Allowing the flames to substitute as sunlight, Nova did a similar stunt to the Espeon and used Morning Sun to recover back to partial normality. Hoping to use the spread eagle-like position, Nova gave an almighty flap to send a gusting Hurricane into the diminishing Fire Spin, the likely outcome being an even larger firestorm. Flying back from the effort into the wall, Nova began to huff raggedly as the impact hit one of her remaining injuries.

Nova's response was to take the Swift attack without flinching, flapping in the air even more raggedly before giving a snarl and firing off a responding shot to penetrate the flaming cyclone, a Bug Buzz that would penetrate and hopefully end the Espeon.

Blinking in response as his increased senses came back in time to hear the tail end of Sabrina mumbling the nursery rhyme he had weaponized. However, he would not be able to respond before the more shocking words came from Sabrina. "I got the right to a fair fight. Did I impress you or somethin'? Seriously, I'm kinda confused here." A bewildered look crossed Reno's face as he tried to completely interpret this. "Almost as amazing is the fact that a nursery rhyme is what won you over. This feels strange."

Looking to the oncoming blast of energy, Nova would simply accept her fate, but not without supplying a good retort to the Espeon. Giving a final flap of her wings and unleashing a scalding wave of heat surging across the ground towards Espeon, the Psychic blast impacting just after and knocking Nova to the ground and out of the battle. Looking to the Heat Wave that was surging across the battlefield, Reno simply waited for the attack to come close to the Espeon and hopefully kill it before attempting anything else. "Im waitin' on this one." Reno matter-of-factly stated, staring at the oncoming scalding steam-like attack that would end the Espeon. Maybe. Probably.

Looking to his repertoire of Pokeballs, Reno carefully plucked a more rugged looking one before throwing it against the ground. Watching a bright flash illuminate the room, the trainer simply gave a short tap to the new arrival before it could fully be seen. Giving a metallic squeal, Phemes came flying out of the flash with a Bullet Punch aimed to give the Mr. Mime a bad day.

Using the semi-solid point that the Quick guard presented, Phemes spun her entire body around the joint of the arm that threw the punch, bringing one of her other limbs to swing over the barrier for a Meteor Mash, aimed to defy this attempt to stymie the assault. "I did not know she could manage that." Reno admitted, somewhat awed by the strange method of surpassing the Quick Guard.

Flying back from the slightly more powerful attack, Phemes stared at the Mr. Mime with a slightly pained look in her eyes. Stumbling forward in pursuit, Phemes stopped for a moment to look pitifully at the Mr. Mime. Before she sent herself flying with another Bullet Punch at the Psychic type, aiming to take advantage of any surprise from the sudden shift to violence from the exhausted look that had previously been on her face.

Falling to the ground with a loud thud, Phemes struggled her way back into a normal standing position to stare at the work she had accomplished on the Mr. Mime. Moving her eyes onto her next target, she already predicted that this exchange wasn't likely to end her favour but she would try anyway. Hearing the tapping echo from where Reno stood, the Metagross took off towards the Alakazam with her fist drawn back before a massive amount of energy charged itself in front of Phemes' mouth. Reaching the pinnacle of charge, the Metagross unleashed the Hyper Beam from her position a few feet from the Alakazam in hopes of causing massive damage before she was eliminated.

Looking between the Hyper Beam and Sabrina, Reno came to the foregone conclusion that Sabrina was full of it when she said it would be a fair fight. Unable to do anything more for Phemes, Reno decided to instead let her fall and take advantage of the bright light to rush forward at Sabrina from the shadows with a powerful kick. Two Pokeballs would drop from where Reno had previously been, returning Phemes to her Pokeball and sending out Ezekiel, the Houndoom. The Dark Pokemon would barely pause as it charged forward at the Alakazam, preparing to Crunch down onto the Psychic type with vengeance.
