Her eyes stained a deep blood red, the Crucio green stalked back over to Avada Kedavra and nudged it. This time, her nudge was a little less patient. Why wasn't it hatching? Imperio, at least, had had the decency to move. So Crucio put her full weight against Avada Kedavra and leaned. Hard.

“Melomar”

C’vi froze. No, he hadn’t realized. No, he didn’t want to sit alone. No, people couldn’t be mauled! But that red eyed green...

“I hope no one gets mauled too terribly,” he said, then. “Good thing Silvie isn’t here to see this,” he said. He didn’t want the tiny thing scarred for life.

Another gentle stroke along the inside and a piece of shell fell forward from the side of Imperio's egg. Shortly after, a very fine looking brown stepped forth, eyes whirling with green as he watched Crucio nudging at Avada Kedavra before moving to join her. He offered first a proper return of the nuzzle that had been offered while still shelled, then looked patiently towards Avada Kedavra's egg.

A'YE, of OYATH

Having been invited to the hatching was...probably one of the best things that had happened to A'ye recently, even though he was going to be there anyway since it was at the Weyr. The fact that a certain bronzerider had sought him out and asked him to be there with him had the man giddy, even now as he sat in the stands and waited. The hatching had been going on with a few eggs and a few Impressions, and A'ye was, well, excited.

Oyath, however, was being her usual salty self above him on the ledge. Her running commentary had the greenrider laughing now and then, and as the newest dragonet hatched he couldn't help but chuckle at her news report.

Stop, you. This is a serious event. The laughter continued as he waited for his partner - er - friend to properly arrive.

Shar watched as the green approached what would hopefully become Her rider, but movement back among the eggs pulled her away. Cruio was smooshing the Avada Kedavra egg and a brown had just emerged from the Imperio egg. The two dragons seemed to be waiting for the third to emerge and she held her breath for just a moment, watching the duo. Hopefully they weren't planning on doing anything bad to that egg...surely their parents would stop them if they were. Although she got the feeling they were waiting for that egg to hatch before...

Well. Let's just say she didn't have the best feeling about this soon to be trio.

Rykin

Although Crucio seemed fixated on forcing her siblings onto the sands at the moment, Rykin still felt obligated to be as positive as possible, in case her thoughts strayed to him. It wasn't easy, especially after the mental laugh she graced them with.

"Angry, hungry, determined. I suppose it could be anything." He spared the little grey-eyed green a look, wondering what was going on there before watching the Imperio brown slink out onto the sands. "He looks far more chipper," Rykin said with a small smile. "It's funny how close they can be when they've never even properly met."

Falienn
He could have wept with the gentle approval radiating off the gold. To think that there was something out there wanting him to be happy. Really happy. He heard Orri step away from him, give him space to 'talk' to the gold. Orri wanted him to be happy too, in his own way, didn't he? He just...had never known that sort of consideration. For just a moment he began to look up, towards the stands, towards...

....Is...Is there any room in your hearts left for....for me?

"What?" He didn't have hearts...he only had one. And he didn't even recognize the voice, was it someone else come to—

He froze as he'd begun to look around, eyes locked on the pale pale pale ones of the green he'd almost entirely missed even hatching. Not the one with the red eyes. The other one. Please love your Zezollath, too, my most wonderful, most beloved, Falienn. Even just...a little would be enough, if I cannot have all your heart.

"What? ...No." He took a step back. Away from the hatchling. From the eggs as a whole. From the whole...this. "This wasn't supposed..." He'd been ready. Shardit all but he'd been ready. Hollowed out, no more worry, no more pain. Now...now he could feel her pain. Her fear, her anguish because of him. And the desperate, tragic love that rode close on its heels, eclipsing even that tender touch of the gold at his side.

He stumbled on the next step back, hitting a knee in the sand and faltering. A hand swung out for balance, and the little green surged forth, pressing her muzzle into it with a heart-wrenching creel. If...if you're going, I'll go too...I promise I won't be a bother, if you just...just let me come with you when you go wherever it is you think you're going to go...

No one had ever come back for him before this clutch. But he didn't think even he could have the heart to be the one to walk away, now that there was someone begging with all her being for him to stay with her.

"I..." Emotion choked him, turning his already raspy, hoarse voice mute. But thankfully a dragon always knew its rider's heart, and a moment later the green thrust herself forth into the sobbing boy's arms, color at last returning to her faded form, eyes alight with purple and blue, and just a touch of yellow.

I will always come back for you...!

Maddeck paused his scan of the scenes below and watched shock and horror spread across C'vi's face. Awkwardly he reached over to rest his hand on the brownrider's knee. "I am not saying that it is inevitable, but it is very possible." He glanced back down at the group of possible troublemakers below. They could give him a lot of work to do. "I too am glad Silvie isn't here."

Slytherin laid down grandly upon the sands, watching the going on with a deceptively lazy interest. The dragonet certainly seemed pleased with himself, if his brilliant green eyes were anything to go by. He turned his head so that he might watch one Candidate in particular, smugness permeating his lithe form.

Somewhere within the Disney clutch, How Far I'll Go began to rock itself. There were things going on! This egg honestly didn't want to wait on anything, it was ready to go. The rocking grew firm, back and forth, moving the shell until its sand wallow had a sizeable well. Maybe it was trying to roll over.

Zeraiah

That green was still out there. Still angry, judging by the still-too-ruby hue of her eyes, but at least she hadn't charged at anyone. Yet. !maybe she didn't merit quite the darkness that Zeraiah had first felt. He relaxed, a little, a subtle curve eating into his spine. Phew! He had time for a breath. Time to rebalance, make sure neither foot was burning more than the other.

And time to do a sort of double-take at the way the first bronze just...laid himself out on the Sands. Watching them. Was that normal? Yes, probably, since no one else seemed troubled. He'd turn an eye that way now and then. Just in case.

YURASTAR

There was a brown now on the sands, brought out by the actions of the lovely green. The blue was still moving, the bronze was laying down, there was that green from before still out there too - so many wonderful babies. The Impression he watched between the boy from Spooky and his new green made his heart ache but also brought about happiness. This was good, and Yurastar shifted on his feet.

And then he felt his sandal snap, which sent him toppling onto the sands face first. What. Why.

But of course, but thankfully....no one saw him now trying to stand up, right?

orri

The Rhianth Circle was ominous..but even so, who couldn't help but turn eyes to the beautiful, almost lost-looking green that came their way? Orri's heart rate rose for the second time in barely a minute--man, this was a weird feeling--but again, this one wasn't for him. She seemed so anxious, so in deep need for Hers, though, that he couldn't help but want to reach out and help her. But that too wasn't something he needed to do: Hers was right by him.

This must have looked so dramatic on the outside: a green so unsure next to a gold whom was equally worried, with Falienn and Orri and the gold's chosen sort of in the middle. He might have chuckled if he didn't feel so relieved. Orri hadn't known how stressed he had been about the whole affair until Falienn fell around his dragon and to the floor--that no had almost jolted him into action on the green's behalf. But now the pair were entwined with one another, and Orri--well, Orri felt more and more like a third wheel between these two new weyrlings. But really, what did that matter right now? He was witnessing the best part of a Hatching for one of the people he had desperately hoped would find His.

One of his eyes began to sting. Orri quickly lifted his glasses and wiped at it before breaking out a smile.

Sending another quick glance towards Rhianth's clutch just in case, he then inched closer and crouched on his toes. "Hi." He felt silly, almost childish and bashful. "You're beautiful," he told the green earnestly. "He's lucky to have you. Maybe he'll actually listen to you."

When her green cousin approached, Anakumath stepped back, the yellow in her eyes quickly replaced with greens, blues, and purples for Zezollath's plea towards a very fine young man. The surging approval - no, it wasn't approval, it was joy - at the development hit Marty in the chest a bit harder than she was used to any feeling getting at her. But the gold moved to rest her head against the woman's hip with a soft cheep.

He is a good boy. I could have never taken him from her - even if he'd been born a girl, she offered to Martirae, who reached out with a hand to stroke that already so familiar, while so foreign, head. There had only been one for this gold, after all. The hunger of a baby hadn't begun to creep in yet, but the eager love of the gold pulled feelings Marty had long buried. True satisfaction on behalf of another was a new one.

But still, the two waited. Clearly, someone had decided they would all go together - and patience was a virtue.

Zyanzi

Another dragonet had chosen their perfect companion for life. Zyanzi felt a surge of delight. Another Candidate. But... it wasn't him. Oh! Stop it. Zyanzi mentally growled at himself. No need to grovel and feel small. No. Zyanzi's eyes darted from the pair, but he smiled widely like a proud parent might - though he didn't really know the boy well. It was still a sweet thing to witness. His eyes went back to the eggs and the others on the sand, his whole being reaching out, hoping something, someone would reach back. Zyanzi knew.... he was an odd fellow. He knew that. He loved the feminine side of things, delighted in softness and comfort over rough housing and dirtiness. He doubted a bronze would want him... or likely even a brown... oh my it was hard to push away that strange feeling. The longing. The depth of wanting to feel like he belonged. He unclasped his hands and held them at his side, standing stronger, though his nerves were firing on all cylinders. Be strong, Zyanzi... Strong!
