She was getting tired, but Eirana continued to send her affection and encouragement. Just a little longer now... Rukbat was getting lower in the sky, and soon, very soon, they would get to return to the Weyr for a proper rest.
As he flamed down another tangle of Thread, the wind pushed the hot ash back at him, which...rather ruined his brief good mood, to be perfectly honest.

With his sunny moment quite over, Bayeth was really starting to feel the wear and tear of this Fall as their time to return to the Weyr drew closer and closer. He'd been pulling off some rather fancy wingwork, and he was tired, and sore, and it was ever so windy... A strong gust blew him clear out of formation, and into a clump of Thread. He creeled in pain, and His guided him Between and back to the Weyr. He needed some patching-up, and it wasn't worth the risk of trying to keep him in the air for just a few more minutes.

Things remained relatively quiet for Eirana and Favaleth, after her close call. Though the green was clearly wearing down, she did not complain. Her wings trembled, and her chest heaved--but they had made it, where others had not been so lucky.

As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation!
If less than 22 feet, you get blown out of formation, but are agile enough to avoid getting hit with Thread. Hurry now -- better make it back before your Wingleader scolds you!
If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up straining a muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP
If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch! Moderate Damage -8 HP
It was a wonder some of the smaller dragons were managing to stay in formation at all, given the way it was knocking Orthoth and C'mric around. The big bronze wobbled and dipped a wing dropping back into place, but as he did, a clump of Thread splattered against him, forcing them to wink out of sight with a bitten of bleat of pain before they returned with a new mark on the dragon's right haunch.

They were in quite a thick mess of Thread, and on top of that, something just didn't feel quite right about it, especially with the front that had come in sooner than expected and was mucking things up. Uneasy, Zijianth warned a wingmate to let go of a particular sheet of Thread. Fortunately, they lsitened, and when the wind changed, they weren't injured.

Hour 2, Round 2 1. short flame! 2. fancy flying
He didn't have much time to dwell on his little shortcoming, as the wind blew some stray strands of Thread his way. Though they were coming from the wrong angle for him to flame, Nandith was at least quick enoguh to roll out of the way, and look good doing it.

ou try to flame down some Thread, but your flame comes up short. Whoops! Hopefully your Wingleader didn't see that. Nothing to be done about it now except eat some more firestone, and try to catch the next clump!
It was just a mistake. He was fine, he would try again, Orthoth promised C'mric. More stone, more concentration and he'd get that nasty ol' Thread next time.

Ash was better than Thread. It hurt less, for starters, and at the end of the day, the ash could be washed away. Sure, it wasn't pleasant in the moment, but it wouldn't stop them from doing what they were here to do.
