Tianara looked back at him, catching what was said. She seemed to debate with herself for a moment, then shrugged a little and did not say anything. He didn't seem comfortable with talking about his family. She didn't want to be the one to push him. It wasn't as though it were really important, and she didn't want to annoy him.
"Sure, we can go meet up with them," she said instead, once he followed her change of subject. "Don't worry - I don't think they were expecting us to follow along behind them, if that's what you mean."
Speeding up a little, to get away from the urge to ask Joshua the questions that were now nagging at the corner of her brain, Tianara hurried towards the area they had left behind. She could feel Sorry calling now, not loudly, just a curious little question in the back of her mind. Joshua might hear it too.
"Where are you two?"

Though he promised himself he would answer her questions if she asked, it still wasn't the easiest subject for him. He didn't like fighting, especially with his family yet that was exactly what had happened.
"Alright then." He murmured, glad for the assurence. His head shot up, looking around as he heard the voice. He relaxed just as quickly, realizing it was just Katalina. "We're coming." He replied. "Tianara was showing me around while we waited." He said by way of explaination. Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

Lucky_Tiger Aria nodded happily. She seemed much more like herself with the news that Allen would be okay. She hummed cheerfully, practically skipping as she followed the nurse's instructions. It wasn't long before she found the room and peered inside carefully. Satisfied that he was indeed asleep, she slipped inside quietly, moving to stand by his bed. He looked much better now, not so pale and not covered in blood. It was easy to believe he would be fine. Aria sighed in relief, murmuring quietly to herself. "I'm so glad. Now I won't be alone." ((That's Aria's last post. As for Joshua and the others, he went and fetched a healer for the young mermaid Adamantia who suffered severe damage from a run in with a boat's propeller. Then they went exploring and Tianara showed him her home cavern. He met up with a really, really unfriendly merman but now the pair are head back to meet up with Katalina who went off with Tianara's mother for awhile. That's about it.))

((OOC: Oh, but there's going to be more to the very, very unfriendly merman. twisted Just you wait and see.))
Tianara heard his quiet sigh. Once more she longed to ask what had gone so wrong in his family. But once again, she kept her curiosity to herself. There was a line that she ought not to cross, and if ever there was someone she didn't want to cross lines with, Joshua was it. She didn't want to make him relive painful things - she knew how it could hurt. But she did want to know, and rather badly.
Well, not right now. It could wait.
"Oh, showing you around, was she?" asked Katalina, and there was a definite note of wry amusement in her voice. "Good. I'm glad she's comfortable enough with you to do that. You should come on back now - I'm leaving, and Tianara's mother wants to talk with her, so you might have to come back with me." She paused a moment, and then added, "She doesn't look happy."

She was showing me her home cavern." The blush faded as he continued listening. "Alright. We're coming." He longed to ask if it was about Adamantia, but if it was, Tianara had the right to know first. He glanced at her, then shook his head. "Which way to get back. I should get going - Katalina's leaving now." He wasn't sure if the girl had been listening to their conversation or not. He knew the merfolk could do that, but he wasn't sure how to tell when they were. Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

Tianara caught Joshua's blush, and looked back at him curiously. She wanted to ask if something was the matter, but he seemed caught up in his mental conversation. When he spoke again, she felt a little bit sad, for reasons she didn't really want to explore. Why did she feel bad that he was leaving? "You're going with Sorry?" she inquired, frowning a bit. "You make it sound like I'm not coming along."
Even as she said it, her gaze grew slightly suspicious. They weren't planning to make her stay here, were they? They had better not be.

Joshua murmured, slightly sad to leave such a fascinating place. "As for you, I don't know." He shrugged, seeing the suspicious look on Tianara's face. He didn't know if she would want to come back with them once she'd spoken to her mother. "Katalina said your mother wanted to talk to you and that she didn't look happy. Other than that I don't know. Tianara listened to what Joshua said, and immediately stopped. "Oh no," she said firmly. "Don't leave me here if she looked unhappy, Joshua. This is what I begged you to come for in the first place - Kiro's asleep, so he can't back me up. She wants me to stay here, I know she does. Sorry must have told her about what's happening to the ocean children up on the shore."
She looked at Joshua pleadingly. "Please don't leave me here by myself. I need her to talk to you, so she'll know there's someone looking out for me with Kiro gone."
It would be near impossible to convince her mother to let her go without Joshua there as proof. And buffer, and support. And she couldn't leave the job undone, knowing that her family was in danger.
"Maybe Sorry will wait, just for a bit," she said uncertainly.

He sighed and shrugged. "I can't even speak to her. How can I help?" He wanted to stay, but hated being where he was useless. Maybe just being there would help? After all, maybe Katalina had explained how he would do anything to help the seafolk? "I don't know...." Beneath the Blood moon The forest you watch Beneath the Blood sky The forest you hunt

((What happened with Remisa?))
Mac quickly followed Aria into the room where Allen lay resting. He knew that it'd all be better. Looking back to Aria with his radiant blue eyes, he gave a soft smile, "You'll never truly be alone" he said to her.
Mike saw this business woman in a dark pinstripe outfit, and secretary glasses with her hair in a bun, walking down the street. Mike being nosy as he was decided to follow this woman, as he's never seen her here before. He followed her making sure not to be sensed, and he noticed a surprisingly dark aura from her, Heh, typical for political-type people to be evil he thought jokingly to himself.
He had to halt his stalking as she entered the mayor's office, so he quickly climbed up into a tree and perched there until she came back out.
The woman steadily entered the building, once again requesting the mayor. After being allowed into his office, she proceeded to make herself comfy in a chair. "So, we meet again...And I'm assuming you saw the news?" she questioned the mayor. The mayor seemed slightly uneasy, "Yes, it seems a sea creature doesn't seem that far-fetched now" he replied, "but what measures I must take, I don't know...". She smiled, "How about I help you with that?".

Then her sea green eyes softened and she brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "No, I suppose not." She murmured, knowing she had made a true friend in Mac, one who understood everything. She glanced back to her grandfather with a small sigh. "But it's still a relief to have him stick around for a while longer. We should let him sleep." She was suddenly worried that they might wake him so she moved back into the hall, closing the door quietly once Mac had followed her out. ((OOC: Dude, WTF is with that guy? O.o))
Tianara blinked. She hadn't thought of that little wrinkle. "Just say what you need to say," she replied. "She understands your tongue, even if she can't speak it, and I can translate what she says to you." Her nerves were coming to the surface now. "If...if you don't want to stay, I...you don't have to," she whispered, feeling miserable for even saying it.
She knew that if Joshua elected not to stay and help her, she was in serious trouble. Then her mother would think he would just wander off and leave her alone any old time. She would never be allowed to go back out, not until all this was over. And she couldn't do that.
With or without help or blessing, Tianara was going to find a way to be helpful in this battle. So she looked from Joshua to the tunnel they had to go to next. "It's up to you, but...I...I'd really appreciate it if you stayed," she said softly, looking away. "I need the help."

((LOL he's awesome! You'll see, just learn to like him!))
The woman began telling her plan, "Alright, now since there have been multiple attacks and one documented, I think its safe to say that these creatures are dangerous, and could be linked with these people" she said as she gave him pictures of the group, "I would implement safety precautions and public service announcements to the whole city to warn its inhabitants that the sea is not safe for the time being" she went on with such seriousness, "This shouldn't go unattended" she added. Her gaze was fixed to the mayor, and he listened to what she has said to him, thinking about it. "It shall be done, and further actions maybe be enacted if deemed so" he agreed.
The woman smiled, "Well if that is all, I must be off and on to other work I must do, I'm very busy" she said as she got up from his chair, "I will see you if the opportunity arises again", "Indeed. Good day Ma'am" he bid her goodbye.

He reassured her quickly. "I just wasn't sure it would do much good." He followed her glance, looking up the tunnel. "Alright. I'll stay." He said after a moment. It wasn't so bad if Tianara's mother could understand him. That was mostly what he'd been worried about. Sure he'd have to get translations from Tianara, but that was no big deal. He looked back to her and nodded firmly. "Let's do this. She has to see you can be more useful on the surface than trapped here in a cave."
