Talela
From the void, she heard a clear, shrill note of agony. Then another, and another. So many voices, screaming and thundering and rolling on the floor in pain.
Talela shot up in her bed, the images and feelings of all the hatchlings, candidates, and onlookers flooding into her consciousness a she fought to breathe. Then, she was enveloped by Vimiath’s presence, clinging to her and wrapping around her like a snug, but desperate, blanket. Her fast-coming breaths caught in her lungs and she coughed hard three times, and spat up something disgusting. It tasted vile, but… her airways were clear!
She took a deep breath, and though there were sharp pains, they weren’t from her lungs. A broken rib, perhaps? Ah, the air rushed into her so easily – delightful! Oh, but she was cold. She got up and found that she was still very weak, but she could walk. She wrapped her heaviest blanket around herself and shuffled off toward the warmest place in Western Weyr.
I’m coming, love! I’m coming!

Kieza (HR)
The girl found herself pulled down with Silviu as the boy fell to the ground, and she put her arm around the boy as comforting as she could manage when she herself was threatening tears that clouded her eyes. This was all too much. Why could the dragons not just find Theirs? Why could they not let their foolish anger and rivalry go to find their rider who was waiting so desperately for them? It baffled Kieza, and she knew naught what could be done. She watched as Candidates ran to the fallen White dragonet, as others pulled another fallen candidate from the maw of another dragonet who had dragged the boy away from harm. She wanted to run, to help, to assist in what she could, yet the sands were crowded with too many feet and too many hands, and... she feared she could do little good being jostled by others.
Instead, she held Silviu, one hand brushing insistent tears from her eyes. "Breathe..." She murmured, taking her eyes off the bloody sands to console the boy.
She just wanted to see happiness, to watch rainbow eyes swirl for their chosen... she wanted to be chosen too... but at this rate... if her dragon was among these eggs, it would likely die. She didn't want to be witness to that.

From the depths of darkness, a voice pulled the Angel back, stirring him from the throes of death. Something...
Tugged.
Hands everywhere, touching... but a voice. The gravely injured Angel raised his head slightly, and the effort was herculean, almost beyond him.
Miach...
As certainty grew, the dragonet coughed, spraying ichor onto the sands, as he tried to rally.
Once more...
Miach. Don't... worry...
about your Akeroth.
Others.
Badly. Hurt. If the Angel could have, he would have gotten to his feet. As it was, however, he simply gazed up at the girl, his eyes whirling in rainbow hues.

L'rel and Devith
L'rel was still up on his ledge watching with his beloved green, but even the ever professional records keeper had let the hand holding hides and pen go limp as he watched in horror. "We shouldn't have brought her back after all." he muttered guiltly to his partner. "This is a blood bath." With a shake of effort he tried to return to his records and note down what was happening, who was the aggressor, the fate of the poor white dragon that was far too still.
Devith had her neck stretched to watch Nebbi, she couldn't risk speaking to her and scare off any potential new hatchling voices but she warbled her concern and support from the heights.
Stay safe.
Roana
Roana watched Iathe with mounting annoyance as she thought about what the girl had said and her actions. Honestly, she couldn't help a wherry brain like that. But...
Luckily she had Kiri there to distract her. "No, best to keep to ourselves." Ro agreed. "After all, theres been hundreds of hatching's what they tell us in the lessons must have been learnt over hundreds of turns through trail and error." she reasoned. She held Kiri close, squeezing her in subtle comfort. Then, all hell broke loose, it started with more hatchings and a brown tumbling out to impress the boy that the bronze had been previously mauling.
Then the bronze fight and the white all piling in toe fight while several greens and and a blue hatched out around them. soon enough there seemed to be dozens of hatchlings across the sands, but no more of them were impressing. "Shards and crack dust!" Roana cursed. "Surely this can't be normal. They are all going to end up killing each other!"
And Iathe was still standing there to close to the widening circle of chaos Roana hesitated for a moment then gently pulled away from Kiri. "I'm going to go get her before she ends up like the others." the red head told her before hurrying across the sands to pull the younger girl back a few paces by her arms. "No one is going to be impressed if you get mauled." Parroting the girls words back to her she gave her a small shake. "Now come on, we can't get involved in this." she scolded "Of all the wherry brained..." she might have descended into a full on scolding when she felt her legs pushed out from under her.
She had completely missed Frankenstein's monster blue hatch till he was barreling past her. If Iathe didn't manage to pull away, she'd be going down too. luckily there was no great damage done, just a shallow scratch on her leg from an errant claw. Still. "Ow,him again?" Roana complained "By the first eggs, are they all completely blood thirsty?" but she was thankful her carelessness had not earned her worse.
As she sat up again however she noticed the brave little white go flying and crumple into a heap, blood leaking from several wounds, her heart dropped into the pit of her stomach...with all the fighting it wasn't a suprise but...was that the first death?
But no, the white stirred again, even lifting its head a little, then, the rainbow swirl of impression. Roana let out a breath, it wasn't out of the woods yet,but that was a good sign, it could be taken off the sands to be treated

Nebbi
"Really?" Nebbi asked, somewhat disbelieving. She didn't feel like she was doing that good of a job. But she supposed she wasn't running amuck and getting herself killed, or crying, or throwing up, at least.. She looked up at the other man, not knowing who he was, beyond probably a rider. "Good to.. be here?" Nebbi said back in reply, though there was a quirk of a question in her voice, and a (small) touch of amusement as well. What else were you supposed to say in that situation?
"Got it!" Nebbi said to A'ral with a decisive nod. Still more candidates were being dragged from the sands. But she was fine.. She could do this. "I'm good. I'm good." she said, more confidently, smiling up at Devith as well. I'm good. With both of the dragon's support, and the two men beside her, she felt okay. She wanted to make a good impression of High Reaches, after all. She couldn't keep acting sacred all the time.
She was just.. Having a chat. With these two cool dudes right here. And everything was fine.
