The quoted wingmate can remove that damage, unless they have already returned to the Weyr for healing or are already playing out a KO'd scenario.

Altitude change was upon them. On the plus side, that meant they were halfway done--on the downside, by the looks of the Burning Aces coming down from up on high, it was pretty rough up there. R'gal couldn't help but wince at the sounds he could hear over the wind, low moans of pain snatched away by the air before they managed to get much further; he'd just have to hope that wouldn't be them soon. The healers down in the Bowl would get those poor souls situated soon enough, and that was all he could hope for. Yihoth's rumble didn't catch him by surprise this time, but his intervention proved useful enough to stop another wingmate from coming to harm--R'gal felt a small surge of pride in his chest for his dragon's keen eyes, and he patted the patchy brown hide beneath him in appreciation. You're getting an extra herdbeast after all this. Never seen you so on your game. Aw, shucks. I'm just--doing what I'm supposed to do, that's all. And you're doing it great!

The call to change altitudes had come, along with another short but bolstering message from their Weyrleader. G'rey and Karhath, disappointed as they were to have no made it to the halfway point without have to return to the Weyr, had the advantage of being well rested and healed from the visit. They were not strained when they dove from the high altitudes to take their places in the middle of the pack, keeping aware of the lesser chromatics switching places with their more rested counterparts in the wings.
And soon enough the fight was back on, and they were back to flaming every clump of Thread that came within reach. The brief rest and the bit of healing had done wonders to restore their focus, but perhaps it had done too good. For while they were focused on what was ahead of them, their eyes had missed a clump of Thread that was being carried by the winds below.
G'rey was the first to spot it, crying out a warning to his dragon.
Karhath, below!
His brown's head tilted, and he hopped between only a moment too late, hissing in frustration and pain as his tail was just barely caught by the clump moments before his hop. It was a minor injury, but that didn't make receiving it any less frustrating.

Even with the praise so fresh on his mind, Yihoth didn't let it get to his head. The thread they were torching was almost gone, but the winds saw fit to toss it back at them--before R'gal can even give the order, Yihoth is already blinking between, moving them out of harm's way. His attention was solely on what he was doing, not just the kind words his rider was giving him.

Wheeling, flaming, catching thermals, fighting wind.... Threadfall is nothing if not exhausting. Greens, and blues find themselves panting with exhaustion. This is more tiring than they thought. Trying to come up from a dive, they struggle on wing and wind up getting blown right into some thread. Ouch! [+1 Stamina,Moderate Damage -4 HP ] Browns and bronzes aren't having quite as bad a time, their stamina having always been programmed to be a bit more hearty. [+3 Stamina]
Threadfall continued, as did the raging wind. While it wasn't as bad here as it had been in the high altitudes, G'rey knew that it was worse than had been predicted for them. That much was clear. None of them had gone into this expecting such a difficult time, but he supposed that predicting the weather was never an exact science. The meteorologists had done their best, but the weather was fickle and for all they had tried, their predictions had not been accurate this night.
But that made no difference. Harsh Threadfall or not, G'rey and Karhath had a duty. They would continue dodging each clump they could, flaming down what was in their reach, and fighting against the harsh winds that sought to throw them out of formation. But with their strength returned, they were not as easily buffeted as they had been earlier. Even if G'rey anticipated Karhath to start lagging in the next hour - he had always had lower stamina for a brown, after all - for now they were holding steady.

Out of the corner of Bossuth's vision he could see a wingmate that was just a bit lower than the pair of them in danger from a truly massive clump of thread. Though he and R'iz had been hurt before attempting to save a wingmate the bronze couldn't help but hop Between in an attempt to do just that once more.
One Breath.
Two Breath.
Three Breath... PAIN!
With a loud roar the bronze caught all the thread when he hopped out of Between straight into it and it sent the pair back into the cold.

R'gal's first reaction to the surprise sheet of thread was a loud curse. The second was picking a spot as fast as possible, simply crossing his fingers that it would continue to stay clear--his hopes were in the right place, however, when they weren't rewarded with the waves of pain and anguish that contact with thread always brought. They were clear, and most importantly, they were fine.

Thus far, the third hour had been treating them well. Aside from the minor clip of Karhath's tail, there had been no real injuries or close calls for the pair. G'rey was willing to be grateful for that, although he had his doubts that it would last for very long. It seemed that when they started out an hour strong, their performance took a dive the further into it they went. And while he was prepared for that, if it did wind up happening, at the very least he could enjoy their success while it lasted.
Another clump in front of them was flamed right as the winds picked up, and Karhath knew at once that he would not flame them down in time. Having already had one encounter with hot ash, he was quick to hop between, situating himself a bit further up to dodge the potential disaster of both Thread and ash alike. And while the remainder of the clump fell to the lower wings, he returned to his duty fighting what reached the mid altitudes between the dragons of Trespassers.

Right as they came out from Between, stinging and ichor and blood leaking from areas where thread ate through R'iz's wherhide, flame smacked into them from the side. This time, they weren't so lucky--R'gal was just glad that it was this piddly little strand of thread that they'd ran into and not the massive knot of it that they'd avoided mere moments before. Yihoth still hissed his displeasure, but he knew he could handle it. They still had more Threadfall to get through, and no scratch like that was going to ground him.

Yihoth knew they'd get through this. It was hard, with the wind fighting against them at every turn, but it was nothing they hadn't faced before--as he powered through the onslaught of another wild gust, he let out as loud of a roar as he was physically able, wings spread wide in triumph. All of them would make it. They'd lost one pair too many already, but there would be no more casualties. He'd do whatever he could to make sure of that. Simariath in particular looked like she needed a hand, and Yihoth wouldn't let her struggle on her own like that--he reached out to give her an extra boost of encouragement, hoping it would be enough. Just a li'l longer, now. You can do this--you've got it in you. I know you do.

When they appeared once more into the air, there seemed to be smoke coming from one side of the bronze's body and he was extra crispy beyond anything that he could have wanted. Even R'iz was leaned forward across him in pain as his right leg had caught some of the brunt of their wingmate's flame.
