"I know...I know. If anything, I'll strangle Val for what she's caused. Just...ugh.." Mala fought back tears. "How could this all have happened to my precious baby Riley?"

"He knew things would be different for him when he became a vampire, he knew their family was pretty insane. But he went through with it so he wouldn't be a deadbeat dad." Van said, hugging her a little tighter when he felt his eyes tingle from Mala fighting back tears.

Mala smiled a little. "That's because I raised my Riley right." She rested her head on Van's shoulder and added in, "I think I'll write him back."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"That's because you make a wonderful sister and mother." Van said giving her a kiss on the head. "You also make a wonderful wife, but that's beside the point."

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala was grinning now, lifting her head up to kiss Van on the cheek. "You also make a wonderful husband and father." After a moment Mala seemed to come up with an idea. "Van! I know what to send Riley!"

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

Van blinked a few times before finally speaking. "The soul bond doesn't seem to come with telepathy between us, so you'll have to elaborate."

"It's an extremely rare magical plant, the Utara Root. It's the ultimate anti-aphrodisiac. While it instills the one who eats it with a sense of calmness and serenity, it removes any feeling of lust for the next fourty-eight hours.

"Hell, just send him a pack of seeds and they should be set." Van said, hoping for everyone's sake that it works.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I have a whole bag of the roots themselves hidden behind the unread encyclopedia of dull moments, since I know nobody would read it. That, plus, I always feared Val and the others somehow influencing Kai or Larai to be promiscuous when they were younger." Mala said with a firm nod.

"Why do we even have that book to begin with?" Van wondered. "Hell, who would write something like that?"

 

[M3Gnificent]

"It's hollowed out. I keep a little bit of money and valuables stached away in case of emergency." Mala explained with a small shrug.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I don't think there's a more fitting title for a fake book." Van said with a chuckle.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I've got plenty more hidden away as well and I know how to spot them. They always, always, always have boring looking titles." Mala said with a grin. "Some have more money, others are dirty books with false covers that I don't want the kids reading."

"While the dirty books might keep Larai away, I'm not sure about Kai...He is a teenage boy you know." Van pointed out.

"Hence the really boring titles." Mala replied with a grin. "Ever wonder why I kept that book called A Thousand Different Forms of Dust Particules and Worm Maneur? It's a false cover which I hide my more interesting books."
