((Civil war between faithful folks of magic and those that support the machine uprising resulting in much death?))

{I've honestly got a little block, so please pardon me if this sucks.}
As the four approached, it was evident that this place was no longer the den of sin it once was - nor longer was it a pleasant haven like they had hoped. Instead, the dock town that was once Jaquel's domain was a miniature apocalyptic wasteland. If people still lived there, they seemed to be hiding at the moment. Screams could be heard from the alleyways, and a mixture of gunshots and magical bolts blending together could be heard in the distance.

((I more meant as the reason why it's a ghost town, but that works too. XD ))
"Time has not been kind to this place." Van said grimly. "I hope Jaquel and Ariae are okay."

{Sorry, I had a blonde moment. >.<}
"They are. Even if one or more of them are crazy, they're tough enough to survive this world. Pretty damn persistent too." Mala replied, recalling their past encounters with the two.
{Are we going to enter the two, or one of them? Or no?}

((It's okay. XD I was planning on Jaquel showing up, but Ariae is up to you.))
"Van!" a familiar voice called as a cloaked figure dashed toward them.

Mala looked over to the cloaked figure, reccognising the voice almost instantly. She said nothing, however, for fear of causing trouble just yet.

"I'm glad to see you're doing well, I just wish it could have been under better circumstances..." Jaquel said, removing his hood once he felt the coast was clear.

"Jaquel? What in gods' names is going on here?" Mala asked quietly, looking rather concerned.

"A civil war I'm afraid...." Jaquel said with a sad sigh. "Things were fine until technology was on the rise. Some welcomed technology and saw it as convenient and that magic was old and useless, while others saw it as pointless with magic around. Some extremists tried to make their point by destroying a great deal of machinery in the marketplace. Things only escalated from there to what you see now..."

"That's horrible!" Mala said, especially since it made more sense to live with a mixture of magic and technology versus going to either extreme in her eyes. "Ugh, can't people take anything good in moderation anymore?"

"Ariae and I finally had to leave but I seem to have lost her in all the chaos." Jaquel said looking about worriedly.
